Subaru Anzai [Alpha]
« on: January 21, 2021, 06:54:51 pm »

"If I don't move forward to a new stage,
I'll lose to who I am today, won't I?"

Name: Subaru Anzai

Alias: Suba-chan (former cosplay personality), Suba-kun (current internet personality)

Date of Birth: May 01st, 1999

Age: 24

Primary Gender: Male

Secondary Gender: Alpha

Character's Scent: Red Sandalwood & White Sage

Sexuality: Homosexual

Race: Japanese

Species: Human

Hobbies: Being a Net Idol, Doing Professional Cosplay, Flirting w/Cute Boys, Loves cute things

Powers/Abilities: ----

Personality: Subaru technically has no real strengths unless you count his love for cosplaying. Originally, being younger and able to pull it off, he would constantly dress up in girls' clothing which made it rather hard for many to tell he was even a boy. His original internet personality was that of “Suba-chan”, the adorable and cute girl who would show off the new outfits she'd bought. However, as he became older and his more masculine features began to set in, Subaru kind of fell into a bit of despair over his cute physical features and voice changing on him. It shows that he dislikes the idea that he presented as an Alpha for two reasons: he knew he wouldn't remain super cute in appearance anymore and his father expected too much from him because of his secondary gender. While Subaru continues to do professional cosplaying, he does it under his new internet personality “Suba-kun” where he's actually wearing male clothing that he personally finds fashionable. He also noticed this persona is also a hit with women despite not having an interest in them. However, he's never one to be disrespectful to his fans and doesn't mind indulging in taking pictures with them or signing an autograph. He is a bit of a flirtatious individual and it is only when a cute guy piques his interests. This shows that he has no qualms about the secondary gender of a guy as long as he's cute and interesting to him.

He did use to be ridiculed by many for hating presenting as an Alpha. He was verbally put down for what they considered to be an honor and a blessing. Subaru's father even disapproved of his son's mentality and his lifestyle on top of that as he'd been known to take away all of his cosplay outfits when he was younger to force him to dress male. He's even been kicked out of the house constantly because his father deemed him to be a failure as a son. He hates the fact that people take the societal system so seriously and doesn't understand why there's such a burden placed on Alphas and why others who don't present as one are put down. Having the weight of the world and responsibility on his shoulders is not something Subaru wanted. He wants to live his own life doing something he enjoys and just treating each other the same. There have been times where Subaru has felt ashamed and wondered if his manner of thinking was wrong but he had been encouraged by supporting friends that it was okay to feel the way he did and nothing about it was wrong. These were also the only friends of his that knew of his hobby of cosplaying and his internet persona. Originally, he used to hide it since he dealt with enough judgment from everyone, he didn't want to be judged for his hobby but now, he's a little more confident on his new persona personal despite how he originally felt when he grew older. Subaru doesn't seem to think highly of women who have a tomboy like nature as he finds them not being 'feminine' enough so to speak. He also dislikes women who can't make up their mind about what they want and it's usually when it comes to the topic of love they always second guess themselves.

Occupation: Professional Online Cosplayer – Suba-kun (Internet Persona)

School: ----

Place of Living: Red Fountain Apartments > Apt A8

Original or Canon: Original

Face Claim: B-Project - Aizome Kento

Appearance: Subaru, originally standing at the height of 5'3”, is now 5'11” with light blue hair that's parted to the left and is cut in a mix of a side-and undercut, leaning to the latter. His eyes have the same color as his hair, a clear light blue. His skin is fairly pale and he has a standard body build for a young man his age. His once feminine features have disappeared to where he has more masculine ones. His original attire of clothes consisted of girls' clothes which he, unfortunately, can't pull off wearing anymore. He still finds them cute but has come to terms with growing up and realizing that he can't stay young forever. That said, while his taste in clothes remains, he has become accustomed to wearing male clothing that he finds rather fashionable. Usually, casual attire that's not tacky to wear outdoors. In general, Subaru is well-dressed. He's rather selective about what he wears, this includes when cosplaying as his internet persona “Suba-kun”. As Suba-kun he wears rather dark clothing, one outfit, in particular, that's his favorite consists of a dark blue jacket with ornaments on it, white pants, white shoes with dark blue gloves. Originally someone who preferred brighter colors of clothing now sees the beauty in both sides of the spectrum. Subaru I

History: Subaru Anzai was born in Tokyo, Japan, and the only son to Shuji Anzai (Alpha) and Sakura Anzai (Omega) who were the owners of a maid cafe but eventually allowed their niece Sachiko to run it. Shuji and Sarada started the cafe business together during their college years and continued on after they graduated. They didn't have their son Subaru until much later. Both of them came from wealthy families which also meant there was a lot expected out of them. However, they decided together to do their own thing and not depend on their family's money. Once Subaru had been born, they left the cafe in the hands of Shuji's niece so they could focus on taking care of their child. Shuji continued to work but as a pastry chef at other restaurants while Sakura became a stay at home mother. As a child, Subaru was carefree yet a handful at the same time. He was energetic, loved to play, and was always excited to discover and learn new things. He was often mistaken as a girl because of his young feminine appearance and it made Sakura wonder if her son would present as an Omega like herself. She didn't mind it either way as she would still love her child but she wondered if it were to bother her mate/husband. She'd push it out of her mind and correct anyone that believed her son to be a girl. She was polite about it but when it happened in front of Shuji, he didn't like it so much. Subaru, on the other hand, was just confused by why his father was upset by the nice compliments that people were giving him. He thought this to be something normal adults did all the time when it came to children.

Subaru had even asked his mother could he wear girls' clothes at one point at the age of six years old. He wanted to do it for fun since people seemed to think he was a girl. Naturally, his mother was concerned that this wouldn't be a good idea. She agreed to it only when his father wasn't around which made Subaru excited. He thought himself to look cute and as did his mother who was amused. Her son was being a child and it was more than likely a phase he would grow out of when he became older. So she wasn't worried. Her husband, on the other hand, didn't feel nor react in the same manner as his wife. When Sarada was busy tending to something, Shuji had come home and seen his son wearing girls' clothing, much to his horror. He scolded Subaru and told him to never do it again. Sakura thought Shuji was overreacting and would tell him that their son would grow out of it. Shuji had doubts and he was right to have them. Subaru never let go of his love for wearing girls' clothes up until the age of ten. This was around the time his mother had begun to fall ill with a severe case of pneumonia. She had to be rushed to the hospital where she later had died. Subaru was devastated by his mother's passing that he just kind of stayed in his own little world, confined to his room. Shuji was hit the hardest by his mate/wife's passing that he refused to find another mate. But from that day forward, he'd become stricter with Subaru, not allowing him to be a child.

Shuji had also earned enough money on his own to open his own pastry business where his food was loved by many. The income was enough to take care of himself and his “disobedient” son. No more did he want him wearing female clothing. He was a boy and no matter the compliments he received from other adults, he was going to start dressing like a boy even if he had to force him to. Shuji didn't want to be seen in public with his son wearing a dress and bows. He'd developed the mentality of having an image to maintain since his business had begun to branch out from Japan to the US. Subaru didn't like this side of his father and would intentionally do things to piss him of, much to his annoyance. He didn't believe what he was doing was considered a problem and when he was in grade school, no one complained. But junior high was very different. He was also around the age where he would finally present his secondary gender. Shuji was prepared for his son to present as an Omega since it would give him a small understanding of his interest but instead, he presented as an Alpha, much to his shock and to Subaru's. Subaru wanted to be an Omega like his mother, he didn't want to be an aggressive Alpha. He'd also learned the hard way that being an Alpha was something many saw as an honor and seeing him wear girls' clothing was a turn off to many other Alphas, definitely Omegas, and Betas would just find him to be strange.

It was in junior high that Subaru struggled to make friends with others because he wasn't acting like your typical Alpha nor did he look like one either. Given that he was still young at the time, it made sense that he wouldn't grow into his body yet until he became much older. But that didn't stop others from ridiculing him every chance they got. He didn't share their views so they either bullied him or avoided him. Subaru didn't understand why secondary gender status mattered so much to everyone. It definitely didn't matter to him since he just wanted friends to hang out and have fun with. This included sharing his interest in female fashion. Of course, his father did make things worse by saying he brought the mistreatment on himself because of his actions and views. This would be the first time Subaru finally got fed up with his father and stood up to him. Telling him that he was no better than everyone else by not accepting him for who he was no matter what he enjoyed doing. Doing this only made Shuji slap his son and told him to leave his house until he understood what it meant to be an Alpha. While Subaru was more than glad to leave so he wouldn't have to deal with constantly being put down for not acting like he “should”, he, unfortunately, had nowhere to go and no friends he could rely on. Thankfully, one of his classmates was kind enough to let him stay with him for a while. It was a young male named Tomiji Kishimoto who was a Beta that was aware of how Subaru was being treated by others. He found their actions to be unfair and very savage.

Tomiji was also the first person to admit he wasn't bothered by Subaru's interests. In fact, seeing him wear female clothing actually did make him look super cute and he didn't understand why so many people couldn't see that, much less hated it. Subaru was so glad to hear someone say that to him and not judge him for something he wasn't asking people to join in on. He could accept they didn't like what he did but they didn't have to be so cruel about it. He thanked Tomiji for what he said and the other responded by saying he is only speaking what's true. As he was someone that came from a loving family that didn't put thought into focusing on the societal status norms that many expect of them. And Subaru was glad to talk to someone that was treating him like a person and not as his secondary gender. To Tomiji, secondary gender didn't matter. How a person presented themselves is what mattered more to him and Subaru agreed. He told him not to worry about what others thought and to just love himself. It wasn't worth stressing himself out over the opinions others had of him. He'd almost thought about giving up his hobby altogether because he was tired of people making him feel ashamed for it, especially his father. After speaking with Tomiji, he'd decided against it and it was this interaction between them that allowed them to become good friends. Subaru was allowed to eventually return home once his father had calmed down but he was still strict with him which he'd begun to just ignore him.

Instead, he did what he loved doing and tried to save up some money to one day move out so he wouldn’t have to deal with the constant verbal abuse that he’d receive from his father on a daily basis. But finding a job that would actually hire a teenager (he was fifteen at the time) was hard. Most jobs only allowed teenagers that were at least sixteen or older to work for them to avoid being sued by having anyone younger than that working for them. Tomiji helped him to get a job at a café that he worked at. A maid café, THE very SAME café that his parents used to own and run together but was being run by his cousin Sachiko. At first, Sachiko didn't think it was a good idea for him to work with her at the cafe because if his father found out, he would be upset. But since he liked wearing girls' clothes, she came up with the idea to completely disguise her cousin by putting a blonde wig on him and have him wear a maid's outfit that was just his size so no one could tell who he is. Subaru loved that idea and was all for it. He'd also decided to take on the persona of “Suba-chan” to avoid being asked questions. It surprisingly worked and him being there pulled in a lot of customers (mainly guys) who believed Suba-chan was actually a girl. And the best part about all of it was that his father didn't have to know about it either. He decided to explore more with his new persona to bring in more customers to the cafe. That's when his friend suggested that he should become a Net Idol who professionally cosplays and earn money for it. He could set up social media pages for others to view any pictures he took of himself while in cosplay. Sachiko didn't think this was a bad idea and neither did Subaru.

His natural feminine appearance worked for him for a few more years until he turned eighteen. Subaru's originally high voice had changed along with his appearance to where he began appearing more masculine instead of feminine. He clearly hated this and initially refuses to speak. His friend and his aunt were confused as well as concerned. Sachiko kept pestering him on why he wasn't speaking until he'd finally uttered a few words to her, albeit, lowly. At first, she believed him to be sick and thought it best to arrange for him to see a doctor but Subaru stops his aunt by shouting in frustration that everything about him had changed. His appearance, his voice, no longer was he cute and adorable. In his mind, this also meant he couldn't continue his professional online cosplay personal as “Suba-chan” anymore. It was at that moment that Sachiko had had enough and slapped her nephew which took him by surprise. She told him to stop feeling sorry for himself and that it was bound to happen eventually that he would grow up and start looking and sounding more like a young man because he is one after all. Even Tomiji told him that it isn't the end of the world as he can always take on a new persona and still have fun doing what he loves. Subaru hadn't thought about that but he didn't think a new persona for him would work. After all, his online cosplaying had actually begun earning him money and without that, he'd have to rely on his father for help and he didn't want to.

Sachiko suggested for Subaru to start doing male cosplay. She understands it's not something he favors but she knew there is an appeal there to many audiences. Subaru took it into consideration and decided on playing around with the idea. He didn't believe he looked right in male clothing but he had eventually realized that he was trying too hard to dress like the average male and instead should just wear what makes him not only comfortable but something he also finds “cute” in a sense. And that's what he did. With Tomiji and Sachiko's help, Subaru retired his “Suba-chan” persona and took on a new one which was no different than the first one. His new personal now being “Suba-kun”. Once he graduated from high school, he decided to focus on online cosplaying as his full-time job but if asked by his aunt to help out at the cafe, he will do it. It took a year for him to feel more comfortable as well as confident being “Suba-kun” and the money he earns, he used it to get himself an apartment of his own where he'd have as much privacy to do what he wanted. Generally, Subaru can be a nice person, even if he is heavily opinionated, especially when it comes to the societal system. He hates it and has no problems admitting to this. Being an Alpha is a pain for him but he has come to terms with it. He and Tomiji are still friends to this day. Subaru hasn't made contact with his father since he moved out nor has his father made an effort to contact him. Instead, he tries to focus on his life and taking care of himself and at least he has his aunt to turn to.
