Faust De Lavega (Beta)
« on: May 31, 2020, 03:25:46 am »

With a little bit of luck we can make it through.

Name: Faust "Skippy" De Lavega.

Alias: N/A.

Date of Birth: December, 21st, 2003.

Age: 16.

Primary Gender: Male.

Secondary Gender: Beta.

Character's Scent: Peppermint

Sexuality: Heterosexual.

Race: American.

Species: Superhuman.

Hobbies:
- Card Tricks
- Dancing
- People Watching
- Sleight of Hand
- Surfing
- Studying Psychology

Powers/Abilities: Faust is a human who had his potential genetic mutations forcibly activated through Rod related technology. His superhuman abilities were closely connected with his predisposition for being rather lucky. His powers grant him the ability to subliminally and psionically initiate random phenomena that affect probability in his favor by making improbable (but not impossible) things to occur, thereby causing him to have "good luck" and his opponents to have "bad luck." The greater the shift in probability the more personal energy Faust must expend thereby causing him fatigue and strain on his mind. Faust can manifest his powers in a few ways that include the following

- Luck Absorption: Although luck is seen by some to be a subjective construct it has been documented that by making physical contact with a person, Faust is able to draw out any luck that the person might be in possession of at the time and add it to his own pool of personal "good luck". This newly acquired luck only lasts inside of Faust for a short duration before dissipating naturally or as soon as he utilizes it. The target of the Luck absorption will not impact the persons natural skills or abilities and their luck will return to normal given a proper period of recovery time.

- Reality Warping Resistance: Is a passive attribute that Faust doesn't have to focus on. Because of his inherent probability field manipulation, Faust is shielded from reality-warping powers that others posses or use on him.

- Tychokinetic Combat: This unconsciously controlled talent is triggered when Faust is in a stressful situation. This effect emanates from his body and is subconscious in nature but it is also largely participatory. In order for the "luck" to take effect, Faust must take an action that has chances he can affect. As an example, if debris was falling from the sky and it would crush him, simply remaining still would result in his injury. However, if he tried to avoid them, he would be more likely to be able to weave about and avoid being hit. As a byproduct of this ability he has enhanced agility and reflexes that are guided by 'instinctual luck'.

- Probability Manipulation: While some of Faust's inherent luck is a passive trait that is applied more strictly to himself he is also able to consciously exert some control over the probability of other targets in his proximity. When Faust is not directly effecting his own luck it causes a greater mental strain on him and drains his personal energy. As an example it is easier for him to alter the probability of his own dice roll, rather than the probability of someone else rolling the dice. He most often uses this ability in order to cause his opponents equipment to break or misfire.

- Fortune Flash: Fausts most outwardly destructive but also most draining technique is his ability to project bolts that can affect the material world as well as energy fields with a negative energy surge. This can cause anything including but not limited to
Causing items spontaneously combust.
Stopping the momentum of projectiles.
Deflecting magical or physical attacks.
Disrupting energy fields such as force-fields or sonar.
Due to the severity of the alterations taking place Faust cannot utilize very many bolts and prefers to not use them if he can help it.

Personality: Faust is an extrovert often seeking new experiences in life. He is optimistic and generally quick to befriend people of assorted backgrounds no matter their gender (first or second), class, or race. He is able to empathize with most even if his background is rather different. He is however not easily manipulated and is a good judge of character, discerning when to be more cautious with the company someone keeps. He has a fondness for people and often becomes the mom friend despite his youth. He has a laid back attitude and doesn't seem to get stressed but takes most everything with a smile. While he does have limits, his study into human behavior often gives him an unusual amount of patience.

Being inquisitive leads Faust to sometimes doing random research in order to prevent himself from getting too bored and because of it he now possesses a rather unusual list of interests. People watching lead to an interest in psychology, which lead to a study of dream analysis, and this in turn lead to reading up on handwriting analysis. It's this sort of unusual stream of consciousness that has given Faust a unique set of skills.

It isn't all academic though and Faust does enjoy being physically active. While he's happy to play almost any game, sport, or activity he is partial to ones where dexterity and agility play a bigger part such as Soccer, Swimming, or Basketball as opposed to brute strength.

While Faust is generally happy to do most things, he isn't without his dislikes. Academically he doesn't like math, chemistry, or anything of the sort unless it pertains to probability. He isn't partial to the cold or enclosed spaces and dislikes messes and shopping. But even when it comes to something he doesn't want to do, he will often swallow his personal preference in order to accompany or help a friend.

Occupation: SPIRIT operative with a cover as a delivery boy.

School: Hakoniwa Academy. Tenth Grade.

Original or Canon: Original.

Face Claim: Cecil Aijima from Uta no Prince-sama

Appearance:

History: Faust was born to Diego and Elena. A charming Beta couple who had a healthy love for one another as much as travel and experiencing all the world had to offer. Although they were never exactly rich, they were never in want. Most often the couple spent their money on travel more than on the cultivation of material goods. Diego worked for a bank acting as a financial advisor but never really putting a push in to become much higher. Elena meanwhile used her cooking prowess to open a small baked goods shop in Southern California.

By the time that Faust was a teen he had already been a number of places around the globe and while some other kids didn't have it as well as he did, Faust was quick to admit how fortunate he was to be born into a loving and stable home. Seeing other people unhappy continued to stay with Faust and even as his preteen years rolled by he was surprised to see how so many seemed to have less joy in their lives so he made it his personal mission to investigate how he could best help. This has lead Faust to dedicate much of his study to human behavior and though he is without a certification he has studied how to be a skilled therapist and councilor. During these studies he began to also dabble into other topics such as hand writing analysis, and body language, making him a rather keen observer.

One particularly eye opening trip was when he and his parents took him on a trip to Rio. The world seemed to be a stark contrast of the haves and the have nots. Although Faust was young it became apparent that in many ways it was why gambling (or the lottery) was so popular given that it was ways someone with nothing could hope to rise in ranks. Given Faust's already high skill at being able to read other people it lead him to being an expert at fleecing other people in games such as poker (A trait that his parents had to intervene and stop).

Faust never tried to actively use his skills to another persons determent. He frequently would only win enough to supply himself with what he needed or to teach someone a lesson. Even with his skill he preferred to earn what he needed rather than steal it (in a way). Never one to shirk from his studies his panache for card games soon lead him into researching all forms of games of chance and numerical probability.

While most Beta kept to other Betas Faust seemed more than eager to break the mold and through his childhood and even into middle and high school age he was often the one acting as a mediator between groups, floating rather freely between the cliques and groups. Because of what he felt was a rather trusted position in his friend circle, Faust was always ready to try and provide support for the Alphas and Omegas that he knew who might be having a difficult time be it emotionally or physically.

During his middle school years, there began to be strange reports about anomaly rising in frequency around town. One day a group of individuals came to meet with Faust and his family. After interviewing with his parents they spoke to Faust alone and connected him to a machine. The men explained that they worked as part of a private organization that defended the Earth against all things supernatural. For years the reports of aliens, cryptids, monsters, and all things generally ghoulish were their business. The organization had begun decades prior known as The Agency before their founder had been betrayed and killed. There existed two halves of the Organization. There were those who had been loyal to the cause of their founder now renamed The CDC and those who sought to destroy it and seek its own power known as SPIRIT.

The agents further explained that there was an alien species that influenced the manifestation of a beings evolution, these alien anomaly were called Rods and had given several individuals super abilities in the past and with great care the CDC had been able to develop a method to bestow similar abilities onto people, the only trouble was that some peoples genetics were more apt to accept the modification. The evolution resulted in what most deemed to be super powers to develop, but the trouble was that often the power was connected to a core personality trait the individual possessed.

Faust tested positive for compatibility and the CDC presented him with the option to receive the modification if he would work for them in helping to defend Earth and track down members of SPIRIT. Faust agreed and soon was injected with the serum only to be met with a strange result in that the machine broke. The agents were perplexed as such a thing had never happened before but Faust did indeed feel different. For a while, Faust joined a small task force that included several of his fellow school mates, but something never quite felt right to Faust.

In Faust's spare time he tried to do research on members of both the CDC and SPIRIT but more often than not he was restricted access. It wasn't until one night he and his team were instructed to attack a fellow classmate that was under suspicion of being a member of SPIRIT. Having learned that every story has two sides to it, Faust looked into questioning his target and learned their side of things.

It turned out that The Agency was originally founded by an alien who had been tapping into a cosmic energy to increase his own powers. He had been using the organization as a cover to develop his own strength. The opposing "traitor" group had been a small force that opposed him an ultimately killed him before taking part of the original agents with them and setting up a defense force for the Earth known as SPIRIT.

After becoming aware of the details and acknowledging that he had been ultimately hired to kill innocent people he changed his allegiance to work with SPIRIT as long as they promised to make sure his parents were kept safe. After switching allegiance from the CDC to SPIRIT Faust was involved with a few more adventures and was trained out of necessity to develop his powers further. SPIRIT has equipped him with a portable hover board and a quick summon suit of body armor for when he needs to hide his identity or fight. Recently with the increase of strange goings on in Japan, SPIRIT arranged for Faust to receive a full scholarship to attend Hakoniwa Academy. He's been given a modest travel allowance and apartment that he can reside in while keeping him close to the action and reporting back in on any unusual things he comes across.

Student isn't an occupation so please remove that as it just looks redundant to put that he's going to Hakoniwa Academy in two different places. And right by school, it'd help to also put what grade he's in at Hakoniwa. Everything else is fine. Just fix those two things and you will be good for approval.
