Powers/Abilities:
Hand to hand combat - As a young girl whose parents hunted down monsters, Layla was brought up to learn hand to hand combat, sometimes practicing with her dad for hours straight, six days a week. Some of her required hand to hand combat skills are, deflecting, which is turning an opponent's attack back against them, chopping wood, which is another term for a direct hand-chop karate move to a particular area on the body, such as the face.

Knife fighting - When Layla couldn't use hand to hand combat, it was required she learned how to knife fight. This was taught to her by her mother who would purposely give Layla a very short blade and charge at her with a bigger one. Layla had to learn to use her knife in a variety of ways, from front, side, to back, sometimes combining it with hand to hand combat in order to defeat her own mother. Katheryn was adamant that Layla would learn the skill of knife-fighting, because she was certain that one day she would use it, or would need to.

Personality: Layla is a pretty outgoing person who isn't afraid to speak her mind when the need calls for it, but she also knows how to tone it down when things get out of her league, or when she starts to feel uncomfortable speaking out. She can be loud and sound extremely brave until someone louder comes along. But put a spider in front of her, and she's freaking out. She also prefers to be lazy and would rather not do much at all other than relaxing or being with someone to cuddle with on the sofa before the fire. She is a friendly and social person who tries to get along with everyone she meets, unless they have different objectives, such as meaning to harm her or someone she cares about. At work, she is a hard worker, spending days medically caring for humans and non-humans alike, learning the differences in their physiology and biological needs in order to help them. She is able to quickly determine what course of action to use when treating someone that is ill. Although her willingness to help non-human beings could easily kill her, she is not prejudice against them like most in this world are. Overall, Layla is a nice person to befriend but if rubbed the wrong way, she doesn't mind saying how she feels.

What inwardly bothers Layla that she doesn't like to talk about is that she was born into a family that were hunters. Her parents were people that showed no remorse towards anything that wasn't human, whether they were just trying to make an honest living or not, they would just kill anything in order to make what they felt the world to be a better place suitable for people only. This sort of thinking she cannot stand which is why she doesn't talk about her family origins to others. Layla does socialize with people of her own race and does have many friends but even there are certain types of people she can't tolerate being around, such as those who are prejudiced against people who are different from them. Layla also hates to be overworked and would rather be lazy and relax rather than come home from work just to do more work. She does get her house work done, but it's the last thing on her "things I need/should do" list and it takes her days to even get started.

Appearance: Layla is 5'6'' with wavy long blonde hair that stops just below her shoulders and brown eyes. She has a very pale skin complexion, voluptuous curves, and large breasts. She frequently wears red lipstick. She is considered to be an incredibly sexy and glamorous woman when approached by men who aren't aware of the fact that she is not interested in them. Her attire is usually office dress casual to show off her body as she's not ashamed of her appearance in the slightest.

History: Layla Hamilton, is a Beta-level human, and the only child to parents Jared and Katheryn Hamilton. She was not someone who was considered sheltered from the world from the time she was brought into it. Why? Because Layla was born to parents that were both in the hunting business. Not the regular hunting but the bounty kind when it came to non-human beings. They hunted and killed demons, vampires, all sorts of beasts, anything that was considered to be a threat to humans, they exterminated it. No one was excluded on their list of people to hunt down if they were given a job to do, they did it. It is any wonder why these two ever had a child together. Jared and Katheryn met while in this business of bounty together so it is not as if they were unfamiliar with it or each other. They took their job so serious that it was surprising to their colleagues that the two got married and had a child together, the daughter they named Layla. At an early age, Layla was taught to protect herself as well as use various weapons when in danger. Since they had this child, they weren't going to shield her from the world around her. At the same time, Layla wasn't interested in hunting people to kill them. She liked other things, which is what made it difficult for her to get along with her parents that they would sometimes leave her in the care of other people that would give her more discipline. Discipline isn't what Layla needed since she was a well behaved child, she just didn't believe in senseless killing of innocent people. Yes, she considered non-human beings people too, especially if they weren't hurting anybody.

In fact, her first friend was a demon child about her own age. She was ten years old when she met this little girl. Her name was Raynar. Layla thought it was a strange name but paid no mind to it or the fact that the girl was a demon. She would often sneak away to play with this girl who had no interest in harming Layla even though she was afraid that she would eventually be hunted for interacting with her. Over time, as she grew older, Layla began falling in love with Raynar and had plans to one day escape her parents and be with her forever. Unfortunately, Layla's parents found out about where she'd often been hanging around and hiding out secretly and Jared killed Raynar execution style with a specially made gun equipped to kill her particular species. Layla was horrified when she found out about this and hated her parents for it. Instead of sympathizing with her, they yelled at her for making such a foolish move in befriending what they considered to be a disgusting creature that was trying to overthrow and overpopulate the world with their existence. Saying things like Raynar deserved to die because of what she was. Layla couldn't take her parents closed minded ways anymore, nor the fact they had killed her beloved, and she eventually ran away from home. She was sixteen then.

To survive, she worked odd jobs in order to have some money for clothes and food. Mainly food since she lived on the street where she met other people that were homeless, human and non-human alike. She befriended them and became sort of like the mascot of the group in having everyone's backs whenever they were in trouble. This is where her interest in medicine had began. By being around people and non-humans too, she would try and help them medically if they were injured, using anything off the street that could be effective in removing poisons, stopping cuts from bleeding, scratches and other various bruises being able to heal faster with herbal ointments and creams mixed with other stuff. She became quite handy at this that many would recommend her to others if they wanted to be treated. By treating a fellow resident of the area in which she lived in, this was how her career in medicine began. This resident was a man that worked at the local hospital in Manhattan where Layla was living and he'd been injured in an attack by some street punks or rather what he thought was street punks. He had no idea what or who it was that attacked him but it'd left his arm a complete bloody mess.

If it hadn't been for Layla being in the area to patch him up with what she had, he probably would've died from the amount of blood he'd lost. She was nineteen years old when she'd met this man and he liked her quick thinking and her compassion towards others, even if they were nothing more than a stranger to her. She'd told him that she was doing what she thought was right and appropriate at the time and suggested that he went to a real doctor for proper medical treatment. That's when he'd told her that he was a real doctor and he was interested in wanting to get her into a career in medicine, properly though. Layla turned it down at first because she'd admitted to him that she had never been to school so she had no form of education whatsoever but he said that didn't matter. If she was willing to get her GED and get into college to practice medicine, she could at least be a registered practitioner nurse in no time. He gave Layla his card and told her to find him when she'd thought more about the offer. To be honest, she thought it was a joke but at the same time she did want a better life than what she had right now. So she called the man up and took him up on his offer and from that day forward, she'd worked hard to get her GED, despite being on a classroom environment was hard and a little boring but she did it and got her diploma and enrolled into college in order to practice medicine.

With a career path now planned, things were starting to look up for her. Despite where she grew up, she hadn't forgotten about the people she helped and would often visit her old hang outs and people in order to help them, much more effectively than she had been before. She took her job and her schooling very seriously even though she had a habit of slacking off from time to time whenever something was boring or she had too much work piled up on her to where she would just start to blow things off, no matter how important they were. She'd rather help them if it is within her ability to do so. After she had gotten her nurse practitioner's MSN license, Layla moved from Manhattan to Tokyo to a small apartment on the East side, to put her skills to use in helping both humans and non-humans, as the majority of non-humans now lived in Japan as opposed to America. Layla lives alone, practicing medical care and is now working toward her M.D degree online to be a doctor instead of a nurse. Being a Beta, she would like to fall in love again with someone who may either be a little stronger than she is, or around equal grounds. But, because of what happened to Raynar, she doesn't know if she'd ever fall in love with another demon again. She is simply afraid to.

Mkay, there are a few minor issues that need to be fixed. First, her nationality doesn't match her name. The character was originally American and came to Japan with Layla. Although in this universe, Layla could've come to Japan for a different reason. To internationally help out more nonhuman characters. So that does make it a tad confusing that she's now Japanese but neither of her parents mentioned in the history are. She'd still be half-Japanese even then but at least if one of them were, it would make more sense. ^^; I understand it's been a while so just letting you know the error in that. The other thing is the powers and abilities area. If she is capable of the things you listed, then you need to still explain how. Much like if were a character that had powers. Any capabilities Layla has to protect herself in this universe, need to still be explained how she's able to. For it to make sense to be believable. And as I mentioned before, the personality area can be used for explaining the strengths and weaknesses of your character. Within both, some form of Layla's personality will be a part of it so that makes it easier which can be taken from the original bio from LH and reworked. Everything else looks fine. Just those things need to be fixed before she can be approved. Once they are, let the staff know and we shall take a look and approve it if it's good. XP
