Discotheque [Zach/Mature]
« on: June 24, 2021, 08:25:10 pm »
Let's be real, the only reason Sadie was here at the festival that was being held in this district was because of the simple fact there was a festival and it gave her an excuse to wear a cute kimono. Granted a "bonding festival" wasn't something she'd normally go to. If she felt like bonding with anyone but not specifically mating with them, she had her special group of friends for that. She loved it, they loved it, it was fun for them all. Her private life was no secret to anyone that knew her closely. Sometimes she had a habit of getting new people involved in her life to join in on the fun. Not everyone was receptive to it. Case in point was her friend Shouta being one out of her many friends that would always ignore and decline her advances. Whether she was teasing him or not.

While all she wanted for him was to see him happy, Sadie didn't always think much about herself. It's possible that's why she felt indifferent about the bonding festival. Sure it was a festival that promoted healthy relationships between secondary genders as well as allowing unmated individuals to find a mate they want to spend the rest of their lives with but Sadie didn't believe something like that was for her. Not that she didn't want it but she knew that despite the equality between the secondary genders, there were always ones that put down ones of lower class or putting down someone for just presenting at a certain secondary gender. That kind of thing grind her gears and it's that kind of trash she always kept out of the workplace. Didn't mean people wouldn't come into the bookstore and try it but they'd be read quickly and kicked out on their faces.

She needed a break from everything and while the festival had a purpose, it was an excuse for the blonde to get out of the house and see some fireworks and again wear a Damn cute kimono. Standing on a hill, she was leaned over the railing watching the festivities from a distance. The entire area below her light up with so many beautiful lights. Unmated and mated couples were present and even those like herself that didn't come with anyone was there as well. So even if she wasn't here for the intended purpose of the festival, everyone was still welcome to come and enjoy the fun and scenery. She would've worn one of those longer kimonos since she did own one but it was too hot outside for it so she settled for the shorter one. It was comfortable and she wouldn't die in it from the overwhelming humidity outside. It may be dark out but that didn't make it any less humid. It almost reminded her of how the weather was back home during the summer. Stretching her arms above her head, then placed them behind her back, the voices of passer-byers behind her walking on by to find themselves a higher spot to watch the fireworks from that would be showcasing pretty soon.

Zach was actually rather confused about the festivities going on outside, but decided that he might as well join in the fun rather than stay inside on a holiday. Was it a holiday? He had no clue really, on his way out of the lobby he asked an attendant what all the hubbub was about outside and they explained it was some festival about bonding. His first thought was to return back to his room and collect his holdout piece, but thought better of it. The boss did say that the country was famous for being a really peaceful country ever since it modernized, and technically the guns in his room were illegal to own, but the hotel knew better than to go through his things. Still he kept his Sgian Dubh in his boot just incase shenanigan's occurred. Peaceful or not, he knew stories of the Yakuza, and had seen more than a few bad action movies. He dressed relatively nicely, a form fitting black T-shirt tucked into his favorite black dress pants, and the least scuffed combat boots he owned. On his way out he thanked whatever fae weirdness made him an unknown, last thing he'd want to deal with is someone getting too aggressive for a lay.

Out on the streets he noted that other than the fact he was foreign; he fit in pretty well so far. He took his time to take in some sights, eat some local cuisine, enjoy some street performers show off their tricks. All in all he was having a relatively fun, but confusing time. He really didn't know what to look for or where to go so he was mostly just wandering around town with some wonder. Once it started getting late he was considering heading back to his room when he heard a child asking their parents about when the "Būmu's" would start. After a moment of thinking about that he figured they probably meant fireworks and thought about it. It's been a while since he's seen a good fireworks display that wasn't made of demo charges or aimed at him. That and he could do to get out of the massive crowds for a little bit.

After a quick reference to a map on his phone he found a nice park a short distance away that he figured would be a good place to sit back and relax on a hill or something relatively high. It took a bit longer than he quite expected to get to the park due to all of the foot traffic but eventually he made it, but sadly most of the higher spots were taken and he settled for sitting on a railing and watching the sky for the coming Būmu as he learned. Without really thinking about it he mused aloud to himself with a bit of a half smirk, "Hard to imagine sometimes that rockets aren't always meant for damage." He then looked down the hill and a part of him worried about his head rolling down and he stood back a bit.

More people began to gather in the area for the fireworks display that would be starting soon. Sadie kept her spot while reaching her hand inside the top part of her kimono to take out her phone as she'd placed it within her bra for support. The outfit didn't have any pockets so she had to put it somewhere. She checked the time, then began checking to see if she had any messages. A few from friends wondering when was the next "meet up party" which made her smirk and chuckle a bit. That was a question that had to be answered later. For now, she turned her camera on and began recording the area she was in. From the beautiful scenery of the mountain area from where she stood, to the lights below and what buildings she could see when she tried her best to zoom in.

As she zoomed out, she began recording her surroundings, more and more people from couples, to friends, and families were finding their way to hill for a view of the fireworks display. It put a smile on her face to see so many happy people here. A part of the blonde was envious but not out of hate or malice. No, more so she believed she wouldn't have what they had, which is why she spent so much time trying to help her friends out and he of coping was having a bit of fun with "special friends". No bonding was required. Only release and fun. After being here tonight, she was probably going to need it if only to keep herself from feeling a bit depressed. The last thing she wanted was for anyone worrying about her. She was the strong one that her friends relied on. Sadie didn't want to burden them with something as silly as this. Moving her to the right of her, she didn't notice before but there was now a guy hanging out by the railing or was until she watched him back away from it.

She raised her brow, wondering just how she didn't notice him before. It was almost impossible for her to go without noticing a good looking man and not acknowledging that fact. Her smile turned into a wide grin as she zoomed her camera in closer on him, but the long way to get a full body few of him and a few pictures when she turned the recorder off. "Hello daddy," she said aloud, with a chuckle. He didn't look as if he'd came with anyone but Sadie couldn't be sure. After all, she didn't want to be caught up in some drama by hitting on someone's mate if he had on. Well, even if he did, she could admire from afar without touching. There was no harm in that or rule against it.

Zach blinked as he heard the woman beside him speak up, he'd been mostly in his own head and hadn't really expected to be addressed like that. Honestly so far tonight he'd been suspecting he might not get hit on at all by anyone given his lack of a scent and the lack of interest the locals had given him so far. He looked and sized her up in an instant out of habit more than an intent to check her out. She was an attractive young woman in a Kimono, but didn't look like she was native; slender but lean enough to work out an issue or two if he had to guess. European decent and if he had to guess probably from the UK, but he couldn't be sure as he wasn't the most familiar with how foreign accents sound in Japanese just yet. All that considered she looked almost natural in her Kimono and her grin put him at a bit of ease.

He inhaled to respond to her rather forward greeting and caught a whiff of mint and...something else he couldn't quite place. Not very overpowering, which was doubly comforting along with the fact she spoke in english. "Uhm, hello miss?" He asked and checked behind himself quickly and spotted nobody close enough for her to be addressing. "Can I help you?" He responded, not quite sure of her intent, and not wanting to make any assumptions. A familiar voice in the back of his head playing the old adage, 'You know what happens when you assume? It makes an ass out of U and Me.' And he didn't want to get in trouble for putting down an angry alpha or jealous beta, but the daddy did make him think he might be in for some company for the night if all went well.

The area was still filling up with other civilians but they were mostly still heading up to higher ground, but it wouldn't be long before the show started and the hill filled. Standing alone would probably get boring after a bit anyway, so if this lass wanted a piece of his ass, or at least to share some fireworks...gazing? Then he wasn't going to object. After all, it was a holiday, and for all he knew the woman could be on holiday too, it'd be rude not to show some courtesy.

Sadie blinked a few times, blushing at having realized she'd said what she did out loud as well as in English. Honestly, she didn't believe he'd understand her but as the flash on her camera accidentally went off, she got a clearer look at the guys facial features. From seeing them, she was able to tell that he too was not native to the country of Japan, much like herself. This was quite unexpected. From the lighting that she had, he just seemed attractive from afar but seeing him much clearer, this didn't change what the blonde had thought about him. However, she did quickly put her camera down, hiding it behind her back while sheepishly laughing and rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment at what she'd said.

No doubt he probably found her to be a strange woman having said what she did. But she wasn't lying when she said it. It was compliment even if it was highly inappropriate. There was no explaining away what she said and Sadie was never someone who lied to anyone unless she had to. The only thing that did pique her interest about him besides him alone was what was another non-native doing in the country? She was only here because her family moved here, causing her to eventually set up shop and start a business of her own which was thriving but not every foreigner had the same reasons. But seeing as how she didn't know this guy, it wouldn't make sense to ask such a thing right off the bat. Didn't mean Sadie wasn't going to inquire about it later though. "Hahaha, I apologize. I couldn't help myself but to admire. You can disregard that if you want to," she finally replied, her tone rather  cheerful to show she meant no harm at all.

Zach smiled a little abashedly, "No worries miss, not everyday I hear some one say they were admiring me." He shrugged it off to help her feel at ease, he truly didn't mind other than a but of surprise from the unexpected flash. It was nice after all, to speak with someone who understood his own language. "Plus I've sort of gotten used to people taking pictures of me. Seems like foreigners are a bit of a spectacle around here." He chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, unconsciously mirroring her. When he'd first gotten to the hotel he was still wearing his fatigues and a lot of the staff took a very visible interest in him. Looking back he was probably a unique sight, since if he had to make a wager US soldiers weren't staying at a high end hotel alone on a regular basis. She probably got similar treatment if she wasn't local too.

He approached her so that they were at a more respectable talking distance and leaned back against the railing again facing her, forgetting his previous fears of rolling heads with a prettier one nearby. "My name is Zach by the way, pleasure to need you." He smiled at her, trying to get a better read on her but felt that he'd already surprised all the info he was gonna get visually. Thus, from here on out it was time for dialogue, and that may be something he's not exactly the best at, after all, it's his boss that makes deals, not him. Hopefully she was telling the truth about her intent.

"Well, it's not everyday I encounter a hot American man in Japan. I can't help but to admire," Sadie laughed humorously as the man walked closer to her only to lean against the railing beside her. She honestly thought he was going to write her off and find her to be a strange woman but it was her lucky night it seemed. The guy state he wasn't bothered by her taking pictures of him at all but it did pique her interest to want to know just what type of pictures people took of him. She couldn't help herself. Her mind went into the gutter with that very thought. Yet, he seemed willing to engage in conversation with her so who was she to stop him from doing that. Casually, she placed her phone back inside her kimono where she had it and gave the guy her full attention.

"I wouldn't say encountering a foreigner is a spectacle for people here. No, what people would find to be more of a spectacle is someone who didn't want to find themselves a mate which isn't the oddest thing to here. There are a lot of people that aren't interested and don't actively search. But we're all human and deserve to have a little fun every now and then. Enjoy ourselves a bit, haha." Sadie wasn't hiding what she meant at all. It was very obvious and she was sure the guy knew that and would probably find it either humorous or be turned off. One of the two. When he introduced himself to her, Sadie held out her hand to him to shake. "A pleasure, Zach. I'm Sadie. Truth be told, I'm a settled foreigner here in this country. I love it and have loads of friends. My younger brother's a git but when are siblings not a tad muppet?" she added with a shrug.

Zach was a little surprised when she called him an American, though he did enjoy the hot bit quite a lot. He chuckled a little as he turned to face her proper again and shook her hand. "Nice ta meet ya Sadie, and fair enough, all of my brothers turned out to be gits too." He then paused for a moment to think about what he just said. Well not what he said and more of how he said it. He'd not really noticed his accent sway away from his native one. It makes sense, he'd not been home for more than a hand full of weeks over the last what...seven or eight years? That he spent a lot of time amongst foreign troops, and his own unit is mostly Americans, with a few other scattered nationalities.  "Has my accent really changed all that much?" He almost tried to force his original accent but it felt weird to do.

"I know a lot of us jumped the pond to escape the sick spuds, but I know their accents changed a bit to distinguish us by this point. I'm actually Irish." The Irish were the true kings and queens of the moniker 'Rat Race' If you went anywhere chances are you'd find at least one who's great great grandpappy managed to scurry on over and set up shack. He wasn't slighted by the idea though, the Americans were known for coming in all shapes and sizes, especially the Irish ones. Plus they practically field the best soldiers around, he never envied the people from the HQ that had to deal with the Americans on a regular basis.

"Oof, we're one in the same then. I like," Sadie laughed as she shook his hand. It did surprise her to hear his accent slip out as she'd believed him to be American at first but it was interesting to learn that Zach as he'd introduced himself to her, was actually Irish. It'd made her grin more. "Ah, well, my mistake but not uncommon to confuse the to. My brother tells me all the time my accent slips out when I'm angry but I can speak full American and Japanese without any issues. I've had plenty of practice for years. I think the only language I haven't spoken is French in like forever. I do business with them on occasion for my work. I own and manage a bookstore in the local mall so from time to time, I like to have some different books come in to pique the interests of my customer base. Or if they ask for it."

She saw no harm in speaking about her job. She honestly didn't think Zach would think too deep into it and want to check out her place of work out of curiosity. Besides, they'd just met anyway. It'd be weird if he did but also intriguing. In cases like that, it meant someone really wanted to get to know you. Sadie wondered would it become that with him or would their encounter just be casually one off. Zach looked like someone who could use some fun and she was more than willing to give him that if he was interested. But she had to be fair about this and try and learn more about him. That said, she wasted no time asking questions. "Anyway, what do you do? Something fun perhaps? My work probably sounds boring because I tend to joke that people actually have to come to my store and actually want to read, haha."

"My work? Well I'm an bodyguard for an important woman. She's one of our business offices is in Japan and she demanded  the crew take some shore leave for a bit so I'm basically on vacation until we ship out again." Zach explained, he wasn't going to spill everything but a few details weren't going to identify anything important. "Staying in that big hotel nearby is a nice change of pace after being stuck in a big ol' ship more often than not. Even if some of the staff are a bit snoopy." He shrugged with a small sigh that gave off a lighthearted 'What can ya do?' sort of sound, "I'm not quite as well spoken in them, but I can speak a little of a good amount languages, enough to get me essentials most places. Other than English and Gaelic, I can speak a bit of German, Russian, Afrikaans, Italian, Scottish, and Japanese."

Those were just languages that he'd picked up bits and pieces of while traveling with the UN. He technically knew more but they were more commands and orders that they were trained to shout if people didn't seem to catch the hint. He did find interest in her mentioning of her store; and made a mental note to ask her where that store was before they would eventually part ways one way or another. It'd be nice to have something nice to read during his downtime at sea.

"Wow, that sounds ... so hot," Sadie replied with a laugh in reference to him being a bodyguard. Made her a tad jealous that an important woman get to have Zach all to herself looking out for her. She understood he was only doing it because it was his job. But it did at least explain what he was doing here in Japan. She wasn't going to pry for more unless he wanted to tell her. Having a job like his required keeping many things a secret. Not like her own. Her job was hardly a secret. She ran and worked at a bookstore. While it may not be an ideal job for many that have similar positions, Sadie quite enjoyed it. She loved books and reading works in other genres she normally wouldn't take time to venture into. She was able to let out her very geeky side whenever she was in the mood to nerd out and cosplay.

Having thought about that, she wondered what Zach's hobbies were outside of his work. It'd be pretty boring if that's ALL his life was. Though his job did allow him to see the world and learn more languages and that intrigued the blonde. "Ah so you're well versed in other languages. Well, I won't lie. I commonly speak more English and Japanese but on occasion slip into my accent which my brother often likes to point out. But I do known French but I don't have much of a reason to use it regularly. But hey, it's always fun to use it on occasion to confuse to hell out of people. That and I'm just a troll who loves to have fun with people," she joked.

Zach let out an embarrassed chuckle, unsure how to respond to her first statement and he wasn't used to straight up flirting like that. It was true he had to keep the finer details of his job on the downlow, and it was hard for him to not overshare when he first joined up with his current employer. The work was casual business at best or clandestine operations at worst. He was however free to talk about his previous career though thankfully, that helped a tad at least. "Oh uh, thanks. N' yeah it can be fun messing with folks. Can't tell you how many weird looks I get when we're working in the states and someone catches me speaking something other than english with someone."

"Some of those folks need to chill, and I'm a smartass so...I have to keep my mouth shut when working there." He snickered a little remembering all the non-lethal fights he got into over there. "Oh, yeah speaking of work, you said you manage a book store, you wouldn't happen to have any translated books at your store for sale would you? I've sorta finished off the last of my stash from my last leave already, and was thinking of going book hunting sometime this week." He asked trying to steer the conversation away from his job and back toward her, both out of ease for himself, and a genuine need to restock.

"I do a lot of business with US companies so while speaking English isn't so uncommon in Japan and not as frequent, people do still give me weird looks like I'm bonkers. Of course English is going to be my most used language, obviously. I switch between it and Japanese depending on my friend group. And I do have quite a bit of friends here. Love them dearly." Sadie wanted to branch out more with other companies that were stationed in the US. Between other districts in Japan and other Asian countries, the US was the only outside country she did a lot of business with. She would like for more branches of her stores to open in other parts of the world but for that to work, the first branch had to make a successful amount of money and profit. Which she was striving toward everyday in hoping that the numbers in sales remained up.

Sadie liked the idea of there being at least the off chance that she could branch out her business. Without relying on her parents to help her out for it. Unlike her brother who just goes to them for money which she found annoying. He knew not to ask her for any because she wouldn't give it to him. A punch in the stomach maybe but not money. She found it strange how this conversation with Zach made her think so much about her work and the direction she'd thought about going in with it. She didn't dislike it at all. In fact, it was refreshing to have a decent conversation with someone for a change. Even if she was clearly flirting with him. Her lips formed into a smirk when asked if her store had any translated books.

"Oooh, a potential customer! How nice, haha," she joked lightly. "All joking aside, yes, my store does have a section of translated books for foreign customers and natives that want to learn English by reading material that's printed in the language. From fiction novels to graphic novels, manuals, you name it, I have it. And if I don't, I don't mind taking requests. I personally like to check out the material customers request before making large purchases of it. I shouldn't shame but there's so much trash books being written now that some of the stories are warping young minds. Well, mainly the trash romance books are doing that and I'm sorry but I am a promoter of healthy and happy relationships. I won't sell books that promote the opposite of that," she stated firmly with a nod.

"I can understand that, there are a lot of trashy novels with some pretty **** up messages out there. That 50 Shades book gave me some real weird vibes, I ended up dropping it pretty quick." Zach shuddered a little bit and shook his head, head heard what was past where he bailed and he was glad he did. It also made him queasy thinking that people idolized that book too, "That said though, I am a sucker for some nice fluffy romance. Even though its a bit rare to find anyone quite like me in modern books." He put his hands behind his head and sighed, hinting at his unique biology, and genuine disappointment that there were pretty much only horror stories and myths of really old Dullahan. He did find a manga recently that had some nice slice of life involving a dullahan but that seemed to be the exception.

While Zach was genuinely interested in the girl, and fully intended to visit her shop if things went well, it would probably do well to make sure she wasn't going to freak out due to his...features. "Not everyone finds my kind particularly attractive, and actually come to think of it not many people actually know what the hell a Dullahan actually is to begin with. So I can sort of understand why we're not exactly the most popular partners." As he spoke he searched her face for any sort of recognition of the term with a raised brow, as if she was well read, and if she already was familiar with the concept, hopefully she wouldn't freak the hell out if he lost his head at some point. Plus if she was okay with it he was most certainly going to demonstrate it's usefulness later because, as he's been told, it's a very, very useful feature to have.

"Oof, not a good representation of the BDSM community. So much so that even they hated the book. No worries though. I don't sell trash like that in my store. If anyone wishes to buy that garbage, they can get it from someplace else that's not my bookstore. But if fluff romance is your thing, I do have a lot of that in my bookstore too. Wholesome romance as I call it. There's some erotica but yeah, as I said, I like to read the material before it goes on the shelves. I tend to get a lot of Omega customers looking for that type of stuff and they're usually disappointed to learn I don't sell it. On top of saying that my business is kink shaming but okay then I guess I'm kink shaming for wanting to promote non predatory relationships," Sadie said with a shrug. She understood why a lot of her Omega customers desired works of fiction like that. It was mostly for the power fantasy aspect than any actual real romance. There were a lot of Omegas that wanted to be dominated which does present the individuals in such a poor light to some. Believing all Omegas are the same just as Omegas would believe that all Alphas were hormonal brutes.

These factors were all false. Reducing someone down to their secondary gender was insulting which is why she hated the system so much and didn't mind telling people that if anyone asked why she didn't conform to it. It wasn't a requirement to do so. Sure, she may have been a Beta from a well income family but that didn't mean she was required to be a doormat. But because of the mindset people have on the secondary genders, especially a lot of current year writers, a lot of garbage books were being published and Sadie just refused to sell any of them that were basically filling its readers heads with lies. Fantasy or not, some people tend to take what they read to heart and apply it to their real lives.

So, it was definitely nice to hear Zach say that he did like fluff romance and much like a lot of people, hated the garbage 50 Shades of ass series. But as he spoke more, he went into a bit about himself which intrigued the blonde. While she'd interacted with all sorts of people before, both human and non, this would be the first time she's interacted with someone who was a Dullahan. The folklore on them, while dated, pretty sure it held up even if they weren't common. Given that she's someone who likes to do research on different types of cultures and species when bored, Sadie never once thought she'd actually meet someone who was a Dullahan. Of course, hearing what he said after that made her playfully chop him in the forehead with her hand very lightly. "The hell are you talking about? Do you know how much fun one could have with someone like you? Why wouldn't you make an awesome partner?" she asked.
