Personality: Kōji has been years crafting his outward personality using tricks observed by theater kids and those in the acting industry. No one is aware of the dark persona lying beneath waiting to wrap his fingers around your throat and watch in glee as life flickers out. He’s a generous man who donates to charities seeking to clothe the homeless and families unable to afford proper winter wear. Collaborating with political parties, celebrities and influencers has gained him recognition worldwide, and if you’re not quick enough the limited supply of clothes will be snatched up before the minute hand reaches its next tic. To some, he’s a valuable friend who keeps secrets, and to his employees, he’s the cruelest boss to ever exist. He’s impossible to work alongside with the prevalent belief that hard work and dedication pay off. Slackers and messy people are not tolerated and will be fired without warning. Kōji is the owner of SHIMIZU - a fashion brand clothing to bring the beauty out of anyone (well, those he considers beautiful anyway). Part of the appeal is not using furs or skins (fake or otherwise) stating it only promotes killing animals for people who want the real thing. Anyone who walks into SHIMIZU will immediately notice the insanely clean environment with fresh flowers. Fake flowers will not be tolerated, and Kōji will set them on fire on your desk. He is also claustrophobic and hates being enclosed in small rooms or a crowd.
Kōji keeps only the best around him. He pushes everyone - designers, photographers, models, and make-up artists - to the brink of insanity to ensure his vision becomes real and perfect. It is only when the first model takes those precious moments on the runway does everything comes together. The audience gasping in awe, and journalists and bloggers hastily writing their notes. Those who criticize Kōji’s work are often shunned and unable to appreciate the finer things in life.
In truth, Kōji has difficulty expressing his feelings as even to him they are complex. He lacks empathy for others regardless of the situation. Kōji has trained himself to fake sympathy and can go as far as making others believe he’s shed a few tears. Due to his childhood, he has a personal bubble and dislikes touching others. Often he’ll only shake people’s hands if he’s wearing a glove. Kōji doesn’t pursue relationships for love, compassion, or companionship. He’s only had sex with one person, and the idea of touching someone else is unappealing. There is always something the other person has that he seeks, and it typically comes in the form of a corpse. Given his family background, Kōji had a vasectomy to ensure he wouldn’t impregnate anyone; likewise, he detests children and finds them nothing more than cockroaches. Children are never allowed at any of his functions. Kōji came to terms long ago that he’ll never find a mate as he’s not attracted to anyone or has a type. It would take someone of significance for him to settle down. Sometimes, he thinks Death is the only one he can love and devote him to.
Kōji isn’t religious nor claims to be. His only spiritual belief is that everyone is sinful and deserves to die for one reason or another - he’s just the human reaper to hasten the process. No one is exempt from this. Due to the unfortunate circumstances of his childhood, Kōji developed an Oedipus complex towards his mother Kaoru. Part of him believes he’ll find her resurrection among the women he kills. What adds to the complexities of his nature is the idea that each woman he kills will send their spirit to Kaoru to keep her company.

Kōji keeps an accurate count of his victims, and the numbers would shock anyone. Perhaps you would believe it or discard it as pride nonsense, but Kōji doesn’t lie - he enjoys wordplay too much. There have been copycat killers making the public number unknown, and given that Kōji travels for work none of the countries have contacted each other to see if any dots connected. In the past where serial killers dislike someone taking credit for work not their own, Kōji allows his copycats to take the fall and makes zero contact with the police.
What makes Kōji dangerous is he doesn’t have a type of victim as his mood dictates who he will murder next. His most known and famous are beautiful people (typically untouchable) staged with make-up and new clothes. What confuses investigators is each victim has a different cause of death; unusual for serial killers as they have a motif and want to be known by it. Wedding rings in the throats, stabbed in the heart, enclaved skulls, and other gruesome ways to die. Crime scenes are set up like they’re a photoshoot. Each victim differs from the last, and Kōji won’t allow a petty thing such as race, gender, background, etc. to lower his chances of finding a victim. No, everyone is up for grabs at being killed by him. Kōji doesn't murder anyone he knows. All his victims are strangers. He temporarily wears wigs, sunglasses, and ordinary clothing to blend into the crowd to find his victims. After each kill, he either destroys the clothing or donates it to get rid of the evidence.
Kōji isn’t an impulse killer but could be classified as an aggressive one. He murders when he’s the most stressed or in a creative slump to fight through the artist block. Fashion week is when his stress is at its highest, and he murders on average three people with the final victim being the most beautiful. Prostitutes known as the ‘lesser dead’ in the eyes of the law are not linked to someone like Kōji who doesn’t dwell in their company. Functions that encourage such low behavior he finds ways to dismiss himself as lust is the basis and easiest trait to manipulate people. It’s only when prostitutes meet him at the wrong place at the wrong time ends up being the most brutally murdered victim on his list. Due to social standing, police often close the cases marking the deaths as drug-related or an upset john was displeased with them. The photos are never published in the paper or online otherwise it would bring a revolution to the police force in their investigation. Kōji uses whatever object is lying around in these types of aggressive killings leaving the bodies as more butchered meat than a person. Kaoru’s death anniversary is when Kōji is the most high-strung, and the number of bodies in his wake is unmatched by any other serial killer alive.

But… that is how the world sees Kōji Shimizu. The truth is much darker. Venture below if you dare.
---WARNING! THIS HISTORY IS DARK AND CONTAINS INFORMATION THAT MAY TRIGGER YOU!--
Kaoru Shimizu was 17-years-old when her heat suddenly struck her at school, and on her way home, she encountered a group of Alphas who kidnapped her. For a week they took turns raping and abusing her leaving her with an impending pregnancy and bruises. The Shimizu was a lower-middle-class family parading around that they had wealth and were better than the working class. The family refused to let her get an abortion and locked her in her room to ensure she didn’t sneak out; going as far as nailing down the windows. The following year, Kaoru endured endless emotional and mental torment from her mother stating how she’s shaming the Shimizu name by opening her legs to the first man to take interest in her. The same mother ignored how often her husband ventured into Kaoru’s room to molest and r@pe her as he had done so since she presented as an Omega at the age of thirteen. Every time Kaoru told her mother, she would be slapped and told to stop telling lies. Kaoru would never know if the father of her child was one of the Alphas or her father, and the child was the only thing keeping her from ending her life.
On September 11th, 1993, Kōji was born in the family home to prevent others from witnessing Kaoru being carried to the doctor. Thankfully, it was an easy birth and there were no complications. This flipped as the days progressed when the family took note of the oddities of the child. Kōji never cried and just stared at shapes and colors unblinkingly. Without going to a doctor, there was no way to tell if Kōji was mentally okay. The parents discussed taking the child and dumping the baby somewhere to die, resulting in Kaoru running away from home. With no formal education, no money, and no one to turn to, Kaoru would become a prostitute to purchase formula to feed her quiet baby; her body refusing to develop breast milk. Kōji would be kept in the closet as Kaoru entertained people and allowed them to use her body much as her father had for over four years. Some days, Kaoru was beaten by her customers, and she would be unconscious for hours at a time, sometimes leaving Kōji hungry for half a day. Months turned into years, and Kaoru forced herself to mate and marry the first Alpha that would take her and Kōji who turned six at the time.
Saburo Nagasaki was a grunt for the local yakuza who spent more money on alcohol than he could earn. He would beat Kaoru for the slightest mistake and complain how she and ‘that bastard’ Kōji ate him out of house and home. The abuse continued to such a degree that Kaoru would become quiet and enter a mindset that she deserved the punishment. Saburo would r@pe her, and she would lay there and take it even if she wasn’t in the mood. If Saburo invited his friends over, they would r@pe her and pay him money.
Kōji was underdeveloped as a child, and malnourished no matter much food Kaoru would hide to feed him. He wasn’t allowed to stare at Saburo, and if he took too long he would be smacked as well. Saburo was wise enough to know that if he hit the child Kōji would have broken bones, and that’s an expense he wasn’t willing to pay. Kaoru did all she could to protect Kōji, and would tell him fairy tales as bedtime stories; she kept saying that the world was beautiful outside the moldy walls. He didn’t believe her, but he said otherwise for Kaoru to smile.
By the time Kōji began Yōchien (preschool for three to six years old), he was put in the eye of the public, and his weaknesses were on display. Socially inept, he kept by Kaoru’s skirts and would cry if someone took a toy he was playing with. The other children would call him ‘Crybaby Kōji,’ and bully him though they didn’t know what they were doing as they were mimicking the teachers and care workers. He didn’t understand sharing, being kind to others, or basic social etiquettes, and only learned by observing Kaoru and the adults. Without realizing it, he was developing manipulation skills to get other kids in trouble and accuse them of wrongdoing when there wasn’t any. This didn’t gain him any friends, but he was okay with that.
A child at such an impressionable age with a drunk father figure would unknowingly begin the catalyst to what made Kōji into a serial killer. Saburo would bring his friends over, and they loudly recalled tales of murder, theft and other horrid acts not meant for a child to hear. Seeing their happiness and hearing their laughter, Kōji listened in fascination behind the splintered door. The stories were nothing like the fairy tales Kaoru told him, but he never requested such as he could see how unhappy it made his mother serving them. Under the guise of darkness, sometimes he would sneak out, and follow Saburo to see if the tales were true. Sure enough, Kōji became a witness to crimes awakening a part of himself that he never knew existed. Bodies turning shades of red, purple, and yellow as rivers of blood flowed out of wounds made by the creative usages of hatchets and glass. Years later on a public computer, he would research torture, serial killers, and medical procedures to satisfy the itch, but found the victims ugly and the killers themselves uncreative and unimpressive.
Kōji’s shōgakkō (elementary school for ages six to twelve) years went by without much difference. Kaoru withdrew more into herself until all she did was lay in bed watching television. Her lips moving to recite the fairy tales she told Kōji as a child. Eventually, she would stop going into heat, but this didn’t stop Saburo from raping her. Kōji would run home to clean the apartment and cook dinner for his step-father who would either say nothing or hit Kōji. The physical abuse over the untidiness of the place caused Kōji to develop minor OCD; sometimes he would scrub the floors until his hands blistered.
Even when he entered chūgakkō (middle school for ages twelve to fifteen), the abuse continued, and Kōji would hide his bruises beneath the school uniform. He would steal make-up and accessories from stores and learned how to apply them perfectly to hide or draw attention elsewhere. For reasons never explained to him, he knew that others could not find out. Kōji kept to himself and occupied his time by sketching in stolen notebooks. A natural at it, he caught the attention of the president of the drama club when the other looked at his notebook. The president convinced him to be the lead designer for their upcoming play Hamlet. This would be the first positive experience from other students, and he relished it. Opening night went without a hitch, but upon witnessing the death of Ophelia in the outfit he designed, Kōji popped his first boner and climaxed into his pants. At the time, he wouldn’t understand the attraction until high school.
It was after he presented as an Alpha, and had to take his rut in a hotel to avoid raping Kaoru, but it didn’t stop the fantasies of holding her close to him and making love to her.
Kōji would become president of the sewing club, and worked alongside the drama club at least twice a year to help plan their outfits. From there, he picked up social cues aiding him in his constant struggle to be a normal human. The persona that he would present to the world as an adult would develop through trial and error as a strange middle school kid. Having gained recognition for his drawing and fashion skills, Kōji stole a cheap prepaid phone to begin his social media presence. Posting images of his drawings and costumes, the likes and heart emojis were a high he never knew he needed, and for the moment satisfied the craving for something darker. Eventually, his social media account gained the attention of the High School of Fashion Industries in New York who sent him an email extending an invitation to attend. Having learned English, Kōji was able to comprehend what it meant to receive such an honor and knew this was his only chance to go, but it would mean leaving Kaoru behind. Could he leave poverty behind to achieve a higher status? He would. Quickly completing the necessary paperwork including passport and portfolio, all Kōji would need is money.
Kaoru had completely withdrawn into herself and barely clung to life. A complete mute, she would’ve died by starvation had Kōji not feed or bathe her. Saburo forbid Kōji from attending explaining it cost too much money and Kōji would be among the ‘fruit-pickers’ (slang for gay) and ‘queers.’ There was no room for such a thing in his house. As Kōji bathed Kaoru, he discussed how amazing an opportunity this was, and how he wanted to go. Kaoru was mute, but he swore she told him to go. Kōji was fifteen and had been bathing Kaoru twice a day for three years now. Regardless of the bruises Saburo or his friends gave her, Kōji thought her beautiful and would kiss her lips, cheek, and neck wishing he was the one who could’ve bitten her. Taking her advice, he would steal the money to secure his position and a plane ticket.
The morning he was to leave for New York, Kōji had gone to the store to purchase beer for Saburo only to return home to horror. Saburo stood over Kaoru’s corpse having brutally beaten and **** her until she was barely recognizable. Her face caved in from his punches and a gash so deep he almost decapitated her. Out of everything that’s happened to him, he never felt rage until that moment. Saburo, his friends, the school bullies, and Kaoru’s lack of will to live for her son added to everything else that had gone wrong in his life. Kōji grabbed the nearest object - a beer bottle - and charged at Saburo with it. Saburo would die with half the glass bottle in his eye and choking on his blood. Even as the man laid dying, he felt Kōji take one of his belts, and whip him with the buckle. When that wasn’t enough, he used his own hands, a lamp, a pocket knife - anything that was close by. He even grabbed one of Kaoru’s ribs and used the bone to carve chunks of flesh from Saburo’s corpse leaving the man in a pile of flesh and bone.
Kōji held Kaoru’s body and cried over it; his tears mixing in with her chest cavity’s remains. He apologized for allowing this to happen, and not being strong enough to stop Saburo. He pleads for her forgiveness. As he looked into where her eyes should be, he swore he heard her say she forgives him, and to go to New York. Like a light switch being shut off, he quits crying. After taking a shower and dressing in new clothes, Kōji took any money or credit cards, slipped on his mother’s jewelry, turned on the gas stove, and locked the apartment door behind him. As he walked to the airport, he never once looked back.
When he landed in California, airport security pulled him aside and informed him of Kaoru’s and Saburo’s death in what looked to be a murder-suicide pact. Kōji fell to the floor in fake tears and heartbreak.
His first month in New York saw a change that would become his signature look. Dying his hair white, Kōji felt he could finally be cleansed from his past, and felt ready to take that first step forward into a future that was his. High school in America saw an increase in friends with Kōji attending parties and partaking in alcohol. Ironically, he refused to smoke or do drugs to keep his body pure but indulged in beer and gin as it kept the darker thoughts at bay. Yet, it wouldn’t stop the deaths that soon followed during his freshman year.
On October 2nd, Kōji would murder Nancy by strangling her with his bare hands after ambushing her in an alleyway. He would use a tire iron to remove her head from her body and dispose of her corpse in an undisclosed location. She became the stress relief needed to help him get through a critical illustration exam that would determine if he could advance to Fashion Illustration the following semester.
November 20th saw Steven and Kōji in a cheap hotel room for them to release their pent-up sexual energy. The two got drunk, and Kōji battered Steven to death and cut him up using tools from Steven’s work truck. Kōji would use trash bags and drop them off at random locations to prevent people from discovering the body.
After the New Year, a butcher named Peter would be found by his employees. His head was smashed in by a meat grinder that had fallen onto his head when Peter slipped on the fat-coated floor and tried to grab hold of the table. His death was labeled as an accident.
Kōji knew he was lucky that the police hadn't caught up to him yet. Whether it was fate or lazy investigation work, he would continue killing to release his stress for school if alcohol couldn't do so. Even when engaging in sexual activities with others, he couldn't maintain an erect!0n without picturing the beautiful Ophelia as a corpse from back in middle school. As an orphan, he had no means of receiving money so he would give blowjobs to other students but gained no sexual pleasure from it. Sometimes, he would use the lure of sexual gratification to catch his victims off guard before dealing the killing blow.
His freshman and sophomore years saw Kōji spending his ruts alone using only the internet, tissues, and plenty of lube to handle the lust. At the beginning of his junior year, he began dating a beautiful Omega named Elizabeth. They had every class together and often praised and critiqued the other’s work. Eventually, they would spend their heats and ruts together, but only if Elizabeth wore one of his designs to keep him erected; she thought he had a pride or fashion kink so didn’t question it. Those two years together taught Kōji how to please and satisfy a partner, and Elizabeth calmed his murderous tendencies enough to lower the death count for those two years. Kōji doesn’t know if he loved Elizabeth, but after graduation, they parted and never spoke again.
However, Kōji’s last two years saw a dangerous turn in how he murdered his victims. Though he didn’t kill often, he became more creative and spent more time, especially during the summer. With nothing to distract him, he could plan and stage to bring upon as much horror as possible with whoever gazed at the crime scene. New York City lit up in distress and terror as Kōji, dubbed the Beauty Queen Killer, took their attention and caught the eyes of the media. Even among their list of suspects, investigators knew that the people they had in custody didn’t do all the deeds, but they had to meet a quota - they had to calm the people. Copycat killers sprung up, and some took the fall for the murders. By the time Kōji left New York City, there was a total of thirty-one unsolved murders in which someone discovered the corpse; if there were others only Kōji would know, and he would take the secret to the grave.
Beauty Queen Killer displayed his victims in various poses like they were models for a magazine. The clothing they were killed in is not present, and their new ones are common enough where they couldn’t be traced to a specific store. Their make-up, nails, and hair done by someone professional, and any products used were also common. Because nothing was connecting the victims it meant that anyone could be killed which terrified and fascinated the people. Radio stations hosting theories as newspapers cover interviewers with police, speculators, and even fans who called themselves Death’s Darlings; they lovingly gave the killer the nickname Death’s Beloved with their theory that these people wanted to die, and the killer made them as beautiful on the outside as they were on the inside. Many didn’t subscribe to this way of thinking, and it often caused a fight to break out among fans and police.
After graduation, Kōji was able to gain employment at Vera Wang. This kept him focused and tired as the demand for the next greatest collection had to be designed, approved, constructed, and perfected within a short period. Kōji gained the necessary experience and money to design his own that he would call SHIMIZU in memory of his mother.
He maintains a private life and refuses to answer certain questions no matter if it’s from an online inquiry or an interview. Even when he moved to Tokyo, he bought a penthouse in the Aoyama and pays security handsomely to ensure there’s no visitors. There have been times when someone claimed to be his relative, but Kōji quickly shuts them down. Anyone who didn’t help Kaoru when she was alive is dead in his eyes - blood kin or not. There are some nights when he’s drinking wine and staring into the cityscape he ponders on love and raising a family. Would he be a good mate? A father? He knew he would never be like Saburo, and vowed as such. Should the day arise, Kōji would kill himself.
