He figured it would give him something extra to do on the side while still working hard to train and perfect his acting skills. And what better way to do that was volunteering at a daycare center that had openings for extra hands. All the other daycares were fully staffed but Sunny's was always looking for more people to help them out with the kids. From what he was told, with such a large number of families needing daycare increasing, they needed all the help they could get. Sure, there were senior staff here that were trained to do everything they could, but even they needed a break. As such, they would work with different universities to promote opportunities for acquiring job skills and learning childcare in the process. Hideyoshi had saw the flyer for it floating around Kaibara University campus for a while now and decided three months ago to sign up for it to give him something else to do. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy his job at the movie theater in the mall. Of course not. If anything, he enjoyed entertaining others more and since his major was in Dramatic Arts, he wanted to expand his reach more with being able to capture the attention of others that weren't young teens, young adults, and older people. Children needed entertainment as well. And because he's done a lot of voice over work before with his family, he couldn't help but find it fun to change his voice up and give different toys he played with the children with their own voices. The kids would be happily entertained by it. So much so, that they were always excited every time he had a shift with them. He knew taking care of children wasn't an easy job. So, he wanted to get as much experience with it as he could. Hideyoshi wasn't exactly actively looking for a mate. If anything, he was simply existing and at least once a day or more he would be approached by someone confessing their feelings for him or simply expressing an interest and wanted a reply from him. There were times he'd get lucky and not have anyone approach him. Those were days he just felt like everyone else around him. But here at Sunny's, he could have fun and be goofy with the kids until their parents came to pick them up at their scheduled times. Right now, he was sitting on the floor with a group of smaller children around five years old surrounding him and he was holding up two plush toys. What was currently going on was Hideyoshi allowed for the children to decide on the toys and the scene for him to act out with the toys. The scene was this: two plush toys. One was a green dinosaur, and the other was a character plush of Pusheen the cat holding a cookie. It was the battle over the cookie. Hideyoshi was tasked with acting out this scene with the toys for the kids and he had no issues at all doing that. He found it humorous even and began ranging his voice between as deep as he could get it for the dinosaur and high pitched and softer for Pusheen. The kids were so engrossed in it that it allowed the other workers to clean up around the room while they were distracted. Hideyoshi was enjoying himself as well and the kids were cheering for Pusheen to protect the cookie it had from the "evil" dinosaur trying to take it from him. The other workers couldn't help but sometimes stop what they were doing and watch while also laughing along with the kids. This lasted for about hour minutes before one of the senior staff announced that it was time for snacks. Hideyoshi released a tired but happy sigh that he could rest his voice for a little while. He was going to get up but he found himself stuck since his legs had gotten quite numb from sitting for so long. Before he could try and force himself to stand, he felt a cool sensation on the side of his face. He reacted in surprise at this, only to see that it was a cold bottle of water and one of the staff handing him one. He smiled, giving a small laugh as he nodded and took it. "Arigatou," he thanked them. |
