13 | Vampire | Beta | Heterosexual | Seinan Student | Stoic & Gloomy | Bio | Anju Maaka is the youngest daughter and Beta to her Omega vampire father, Henry Marker, and Alpha vampire mother, Calera Marker. She was the last child born between them, making her brother Ren Maaka the oldest and Karin Maaka the second oldest child. Her sister is the only one in the entire family that produces blood when she bites someone whereas everyone else drinks blood. Well, Anju currently doesn't drink blood yet. She is of the age where she should lose her taste for human food and desire to drink from humans, however, this has not happened for her yet. It is actually a worry for her because it means she also won't be able to go outside anymore alongside her sister. Anju, despite her quiet and stoic nature, is protective of her sister Karin. This is because Karin is the only one unaware that she is what is known as a Psyche Vampire and if that is discovered by other vampire families, she will become a prime target to be used and drained until she dies. As drinking from a Psyche Vampire can cure infertility for infertile vampires and heal wounds. The very thought of that is horrifying to Anju and everyday, she is afraid of not being able to watch after her sister. This attachment of hers causes her to be distant from others, causing others to see her as aloof but never cruel when she speaks with anyone. Anju is indifferent to most things that don't involve her family. Similar to her older brother, but he involves himself more with humans than Anju herself does. Despite that, she cares deeply for her family and will do whatever it takes to protect them from harm. Even if it means risking her life for their sake. Anju is also a student at Seinan Academy and while she doesn't attend school most days unless it is cloudy outside, her assignments are done virtually. One would normally think she would be someone forgettable but she is always remembered by her classmates who are happy to see her when she comes to school, while Anju herself feels indifferent. |
| Anju often misses school due to the weather in Tokyo when the sun is its strongest. Being an unawakened vampire, while she is able to go outside during the day, it comes at the risk of her energy being drained by the sun the older she became. It didn't bother her as much as a child, but now that she is a young teenager, and she'll soon drink blood that requires her to survive, this makes it difficult for her to get close to others. Plus, Anju's main concern is keeping an eye on her sister Karin from being discovered as the Psyche Vampire. She's very close with her big sister, even finding her to be ditzy at times. The only time Anju goes outside during the day is when it is cloudy and she often carries a parasol with her to cover herself. This causes her to miss class quite often but a lot of her schoolwork can be done virtually that isn't a group required assignment that basically forces her to attend school. When she has to, she finds it a hassle to put on sunscreen, but she does it to avoid failing out of school. Part of her doesn't see the point since she knows she won't be around her classmates much longer and doesn't bother to make friends with them despite being somewhat well liked by her male peers, which she doesn't seem to understand.
While she doesn't understand it, a part of Anju does feel jealous of her sister that she is able to go out and make friends with others, but she keeps it to herself because she doesn't like seeing her sister upset and worrying about her. She also struggles partially with accepting her vampire heritage because she feels that by awakening as a vampire, she won't be able to be with her sister. So, for Anju, I want to give her a proper plot and purpose to make friends with other characters. Even if it's just casually seeing classmates out in the city on cloudy days when she can go outside during the day. It would be nice to while still keeping that she is protective of her older sister, she can also do the same for others. Learning why her sister cares so much for others whether humans or other non-humans who aren't vampires, means so much to her. Considering that much of Anju's plot in the manga of Chibi Vampire (or Karin) is her watching out for her sister, I'd like for her to have her own story that is centered just around her. She has that briefly too in the manga when she bites one of her male classmates, then erases his memories, I don't want it to just end there for her. Maybe she somehow gains a friend or friends that asks her if she wants to be a vampire or human so she can still protect her sister. I find that to be a very interesting idea for her. I'd consider the idea if there is enough plotting done. Right now, it is just an idea that I'm willing to consider. If anyone has any ideas they'd like to share, I'm open to hearing them. ^^ |
| Anju isn't someone that is a fighter, preferring to watch from the shadows instead. This doesn't mean she is a pacifist. No, personally, Anju has no reason to fight anyone and isn't put in positions to where she would need to use her vampire strength to protect herself. This doesn't mean she won't do so if necessary. In the event someone tries to harm her sister Karin is when she will step in and desire to fight. Outside of that, no. I'd like to change that. I haven't done any heavy battle RPs in awhile and I miss doing them, if I'm being honest. I would like for Anju to have more reasons to fight that make sense for her. Basically, she is willing to protect someone else outside of her sister from harm, no matter who or what they are. She is extremely distrustful of other vampires and their families as many of them would take her sister with no questions asked because of what she is. I've no qualms about that, since that is mostly Karin's plot and as I said, Anju is willing to fight to protect her sister. Fighting for others, is another story, so much like the friends thing, I want to see Anju willing fighting to protect someone else outside of her family. It doesn't always have to be a full on fistfight, but merely stopping simple bullying that is going on. And again, the characters can be humans and non-humans. She needs more of a purpose for her existence outside of her family. So, this could be any event that is either at Seinan Academy where she attends or outside of school. I just want to do something with Anju that makes sense for her. |
| Anju's original manga ending is she just grew older while steady protecting her sister and her family from a distance. This means she never found anyone to be with like Karin did. I want that to change for Anju. Which ties into her not only making connections with others she attends school with, but the possibility of the desire to become human. Meaning she finally understand why her sister feels so strongly about the people she calls her friends and willing to do anything to protect them from harm. Like seeing her understanding the emotions of others while she herself, doesn't show her own. As she is quiet and stoic, she is liked by her male classmates. While in the manga, it does mention that a male student, while I don't believe had any feelings for her, she reacts to him due to her taste in blood being "loneliness". This could react similarly here to her not only desiring to want to drink blood because she is a vampire and would need to feed, but also whomever she desires it from is someone she became close to. Being that she is only thirteen, there would be no sexual intimacy going on until she is older. But it is known that Anju does have a lot of loneliness, most of it stemming around her sister. So, for Anju, I'm not concerned about the secondary gender of the character. I'm also fine with the character being non human or human. Whether they have powers of their own is completely up to the players and their characters. Anju is straight so the love interest/mate would have to be a male character. So, if anyone is interested in doing a pair with Anju, let me know. ^^ |
