Mana had entered class awkwardly like she did since school had begun. Luckily for her, she shared the same class with her two friends Sana and Rachel, so it wasn't as bad. Yeah, her male classmates were still a pain about her body, but she made sure to solve that by wearing heavier clothing. The only time she hated wearing a required uniform the school provided was gym class and other activities that would show her body. She couldn't help but hate her body. However, it was nice to have friends that encouraged her to accept the body she was given because she was pretty. Rachel was definitely the one voicing that to her constantly whenever Mana was down in the dumps about herself.

Which helped and Mana was still dealing with her self-confidence about herself, but she was working through it. Being one of few students transferring to Astraea Academy mid-semester, it helped to have made friends quickly. Sana was a little on the aggressive side, but that was towards Alphas. Mana personally didn't have an issue with anyone of a specific secondary gender, but she tried to be the voice of reason for when Sana went off on someone who was an Alpha and of course Rachel who was constantly flirting with their new homeroom teacher. That wasn't something Mana expected, but out of the three girls, she was the only one to keep her two friends out of trouble as much as she could. This would include now as the start of class began as their homeroom teacher Sensei Tachibana entered the classroom which got everyone's attention.

Mana stood along with everyone else to greet him, then took her seat as Sensei Tachibana began to speak to them about the school festival preparations. As per usual, each class had to come up with an idea of what to do that everyone can get involved as well as ensuring that other students would be interested. Mana took notice that Rachel was the first one to give out her ideas for activities they could do. She wasn't surprised at her suggestion of a maid cafe. Mana actually remembered the fourth and fifth graders last year did one and it was mostly silly and tame. On the surface, not harmful or inappropriate, but knowing her friend and her obsession for their teacher, it wouldn't surprise her that she was hoping to serve him at said made cafe event, making her sweat drop and laughing awkwardly at her friend's suggestion. Thankfully, she did come up with other ideas which was good.

It did get silent for a moment regarding the suggestion for the maid cafe, but it was soon solved and suggestions for activities to do had proceeded again. That is until she'd been suggested for the position of committee chairman. Immediately, Mana began to freak out, frantically waving her hands in a circle as she shook her head. "I-Iie! I-I would not be a g-good fit!" Mana exclaimed, her face turning bright red from embarrassment since attention was now placed on her due to her friend's suggestion. It's not as if she would be bad at doing the job, but rather she didn't like standing out at all. She had no idea what Rachel was thinking. There was no telling what was on Sana's mind right now since she'd been very quiet since class began. Which is a first for her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STRONG INSIDE, BUT YOU DON'T KNOW IT
GOOD LITTLE GIRLS, THEY NEVER SHOW IT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rika and her brother had been dropped off at school early, like always, by their Alpha father. Rika remained quiet as she watched her brother Riko excitedly wave to greet his friends in the class they shared together. It'd always been easy for her brother to make friends with others, while it was a little difficult for her to make them. Rika wanted to make friends but struggled a lot with doing that. The reason being is because of her ability to see spirits. She wasn't afraid of all spirits, as some can be good, but there was the off chance she could encounter a dangerous one. Sometimes it was hard to tell whether or not a spirit meant well or not when she approached it.

She'd already been warned by her Omega father not to go wandering off on her own and not to approach spirits she sees so casually. Of course, her brother assured their Omega father he'd watch out for her like he promised. Rika appreciated it, but still couldn't help but feel bad that her brother was more or less her babysitter. However, it was the agreed-upon decision that allowed them both to return to attending school again. So, she had to deal with it and hoped that school could be a safe place for her where dangerous spirits wouldn't try to attack her or anyone she cared about. The bell rang, and Rika and her brother quickly hurried to class. Their homeroom teacher, Mr. Tachibana, was a stickler for students being late without good cause. Though Rika knew her brother wanted to goof off, she immediately grabbed him and pulled him along to class before the late bell rang.

They'd made it just in time and took their seats. The rest of their peers were already present in the room, so Rika began to take her things out of her bag to use for today's assignments. Mr. Tachibana hadn't shown up yet, which was unusual to her, but assumed that maybe he was talking with another teacher about something important. It wasn't uncommon for teachers to speak with one another. That said, everyone in class was conversing amongst themselves. After about five minutes, Mr. Tachibana had entered, and the class immediately went silent. The start of class began. Like always, Rika was prepared to take notes and work on her assignments, but it would seem that the first order of business was their school's festival.

Rika had completely forgotten about that. Every class not only had to participate, but also come up with an event. That was when her classmate Kendric Rachel spoke up, which came as no surprise to Rika. She'd found her to be a strange girl, but it was pretty clear that she really liked their teacher. A little too much to a point it was shameful and reminded the young girl of her own parents. It was a little embarrassing for her. Rika watched and listened as Rachel began to rapid-fire off suggestions, one of them being a maid and butler cafe, and the other a kissing booth. The suggestion of a kissing booth made Rika raise a brow. Thankfully, no one seemed interested in that, but they did seem interested in Rachel's other idea. Rika was indifferent towards it, but it was better than the idea of a kissing booth.

While Mr. Tachibana was against it, one of her male peers spoke up in assurance that there was nothing inappropriate about it. Rika wasn't sure since this would mark her and her brother's first year at this school, and she was completely unaware of how they handled specific events at the school festival. Instead of saying anything, she sat there continuing to listen to others chime in on their suggestions for ideas, as well as suggestions for the committee chairman that would assist in getting everything prepared. Rika heard Rachel speak up again, suggesting her friend Asakura Mana. While having not spoken to Mana directly, she was familiar with what she looked like, and whenever she spoke up, which wasn't much unless called on directly. Similar to herself.

'Well, things started off a tad awkward in class today, but it seems to be getting better and everyone is trying to get involved.' Rika's gaze shifted towards her brother, who sat next to her, and he was goofily holding up a paper that had "Eating Contest" written on it in broken kanji, making her sweat drop. 'Eh, his heart's in the right place, but his head isn't,' she thought. At least what he wrote wasn't weird like Rachel's earlier suggestion for a kissing booth. She couldn't imagine her brother getting remotely involved in that. Neither would she personally. Though she did know that their teacher would get on his case for his broken and sloppy kanji.

Rachel got what she wanted. She wanted Tachibana Sensei to doubt himself as a teacher, but mainly for her own amusement since he was purposely ignoring her. With that in mind, she shifted her gaze back to her teacher, her lips forming into a wide smirk as she playfully stuck her tongue out at him. It was fun for her to tease her teacher. The idea of a child having already decided at an early age who their mate will be, isn't entirely unbelievable. However, it bummed her out that because of her age, it was deemed inappropriate in the eyes of others for adults to engage in a relationship with their students. Though, as far as Rachel was aware, it is a thing in Japan, but not open. Thus, she desired straight away to learn everything she could, so by the time she was old enough, she would be ready for Tachibana Sensei.

However, he was still going to treat her like a kid, which was the annoying part. He wanted her to look at her like he would the other female adult teachers who had the boobs she wanted. It's also why she was a little jealous of Mana, who developed early for her age, but she won't hesitate to smack her male peers if they do anything to her. Sighing, she placed her hands on her desk while everyone else was raising their hands and giving out the names of those who could take on the leadership role of their class. Rachel wanted that role, but she couldn't nominate herself. Someone would have to suggest her for the position. Of course, she knew if someone did, Tachibana Sensei would be against it anyway. 'What a drag. Well, at least during the school festival, I can tease Sensei all I want,' she thought.

So far, there were three names of students given to Tachibana Sensei to write down on the board. Two were boys and one was a girl. Rachel saw this and noticed that the number was uneven. She decided to fix that by raising her hand with a grin on her face. "Sensei, can I recommend my friend Mana?" she asked politely. Mana was a timid and quiet girl, but Rachel knew that when given a chance, she liked to help anyone, especially the teacher, because that's just who she was. Their class from third grade liked poking fun at her and calling her a teacher's pet, but since her fourth year class had different students in it and a few familiar faces, Rachel didn't think anyone would complain about this suggestion. It was just to have a fair number of people recommended. She would've suggested Sana, but she knew that she'd only argue with the teacher the entire time, all because he's an Alpha. No work would get done if that happened.

It was school sanctioned and encouraged? Damn, he should have been paying attention to the orientation more but this cornered him. Plus the she-devil unwittingly tearing down his argument about etiquette and decorum. Damn, he was slipping. It was easy to read that the majority wanted to dress up as maids and butlers. He was a stern man, but not one made of stone. His small smile to the class was enough for them to understand that he was backing down.

Was this setting a bad precidement for later trials and tribulations with his class? Maybe? Probably, actually but Hayate was not someone to claw back that authority in other ways. He stared at the boy who'd informed him of his misunderstanding then to the little girl whom had won her battle today.

"With that new information presented to me..." He had chosen not to counter Rachel's accusation but to ignore her, addressing everyone but her. Taking attention from her was probably the best idea to disarm her... At least for now. "And from my observations that you in the majority want a maid cafe I will allow it." He waited for the cheers to pass, the excited whispers and his issues with it faded a little. The little whisper of parent conference evening mishaps that had been plaguing him were silenced by the promise of a beer after school was finished. He'd Damn well earned it already and it was only first period. "Now," he began, wiping his board and writing down maid cafe. "Organisation is vital to any event. Logistics, planning and leadership are qualities these events teach even when we are having fun. So among yourselves please pick a committee chairman and while I will be there to assist you all I expect the person selected to show me the maturity I seek in this maid cafe and of you, the prospective chairman."

Hayate imagined that one to one sessions after school when he was needed or things that they logically wouldn't be able to do was all he'd need to be for. He certainly preferred this hands off approach as self reliance and responsibility were things that could never be learned too young.

"Nominate your choices by raising your hand and I will write them down where afterwards we'll take a vote as a class. If you wish to nominate yourself it will be allowed."

Hayate pointedly tapped the whiteboard. He was taking control of this classroom again. Rachel, the little devil would no longer be browbeating the sensei.

Rachel immediately puffed out her cheeks as her teacher disregarded her idea for the maid cafe and that it was inappropriate. If it were inappropriate, then the school wouldn't have allowed it. She didn't understand why he was being so biased. The maid cafe from last year's school festival was fun, and Rachel couldn't wait to be in fourth grade because she wanted to do that because of how fun it looked. And the maid outfits for the girls were cute. Granted, they were school-issued ones that would be appropriate for students to wear, but the female students were allowed to decorate them as they pleased. She had a whole plan set out to decorate her dress with pretty hearts that she would've sewn onto the outfit with her name on it. But now, her completely unfun teacher thinks it's somehow inappropriate. Before she could protest, another student raised their hand and spoke up to their teacher. It was a male student, shockingly. However, Rachel raised her brow, being very suspicious that he was going to make the counterargument worse or agree with him.

"Sensei, the school is the one that issues out the outfits for any class that decides they want to do a maid and butler cafe theme setup. The only thing we as students are allowed to do is decorate them however we want with tags and shapes. We as students aren't allowed to buy our own outfits for such events," the male student explained. "In fact, they order new outfits every year to have on hand, and they may have some unused outfits left over as well. The outfits are always school-appropriate because so there are no issues or worries about it being inappropriate. I'm ... not sure if that helps or not if the answer is still no," the male student said as he lowered his hand down to wait for Tachibana Sensei's response.

Rachel blinked in surprise at this information because she didn't even know they always preordered outfits every year here, but that information does help her case in her desire to want to do the event. If it were left up to their teacher, he'd make them do something boring like a tea ceremony booth. That's not fun at all. As appreciative as she was, she had to be fair and let everyone have their turn about the ideas they wanted to do. Some wanted to do the maid and butler cafe booth, but the moment Tachibana Sensei declined it, she could see the disappointed looks on many of her classmates' faces. Rachel tsked, her face turned to look away from her teacher, and her gaze shifted her gaze toward the window. However, her response that came next would probably set the man off, but she spoke loud enough for everyone to hear her. "You're already disappointing your students, Sensei," Rachel replied, her tone serious as she said it. "If you're thinking about how inappropriate a fun event is, that says a lot about you as a teacher."

The teacher waited for a minute, staring at the troublemaker like she was setting fire to the school. The heart sign with the hands? The headache throbbed as he swallowed a desire to ask for a transfer. He had so many things that were wrong with the excitable girl's plans.

Starting with the obvious. A butler/maid café at their age? Yeah, that was not happening! He could already imagine the awkward stares at the parent conferences. Mothers and fathers trying to figure out if he became a teacher to teach or was a rampaging lolicon with enough determination to get a teaching degree and a criminal record once his control slipped. His hands shook at his imaginative interpretation of their faces when talking about their academic progress.

This troublemaker... Troublesome... so very... Ah, **** it. He'd go in hard...

"Have we forgotten how to raise our hands and wait to be addressed?" Hayate scolded, looking around at the room devoid of raised hands and any will to defy the she-terror in front of him. He coughed, watching Rachel continue to make herself the centre of the classroom. "Now, as I saying, before I was interrupted I would like to appoint someone to lead the classroom on the subject of what to do. However, I will make some rules..."

Hayate sighed as he used his red ink pen on the whiteboard. "Rule one, we take turns requesting what we wish to do." That was a fairly simple instruction. He twisted his glasses so the shine of light pinged off them in an attempt to create authority. "However, I will not permit maid cafes on account that they are inappropriate for your age group." He internally added a paragraph about how he'd sooner find a way to rob a bank than allow anything involving outfits and prepubescent shenanigans relating to it. "Maki-sensei may consider her 'older' students ready to assume the responsibility of being careful and respectful to the people who will attend the event but I believe that for propriety's sake..." He wrote a big 2 on the board, then writing out what he was speaking out loud, "We choose something simpler and only one thing."

Hayate sighed as he literally wasn't asking much. "Now, everyone, please in an orderly manner, raise your hands if you want to volunteer to lead the class on what to do... While I sit here and observe."

The conversation between the students grew while they waited for the arrival of their teacher. Rachel sat happily at her desk as she casually began drawing on a blank piece of paper she had in her desk. There were some of her classmates either studying or reading at their desks, but others were chatting away as if they had nothing to do. Yet Rachel was trying to draw a very crude picture to show her teacher to express how much she likes him when he arrived. As luck would have it, Tachibana Sensei entered the classroom and like always greeted the students. Considering he was a very strict teacher, everyone in class new that when he entered the room, they were to quiet down so the day's lessons can begin.

Seeing the man, Rachel couldn't help herself but to form her fingers into a heart while playfully sticking her tongue out at him. Naturally, she was ignored, which made her pout as he began to talk about today's lessons as well as discuss what their class was going to do for the school festival. Rachel sat patiently and listened to her teacher speak. It would seem he'd decided to start discussing the school festival and was in need of volunteers. The child immediately perked, standing up from her seat with her hand raised. "Sensei, I got an idea of what we can do that would be for some of us to do," Rachel replied with excitement as she continued, "how about we do a maid and butler cafe? The fourth and fifth graders last year got to do one, so we should get to do it too."

Naturally, some of her classmates were mixed on the idea, but there were others that were all for it that attended the previous term as third graders and saw the students who participated in the school festival and the maid and butler cafe event. However, these weren't Rachel's only two ideas. Since she knew her two friends would be troubled by the idea of a maid and butler cafe alone, she also had two more ideas to add onto the idea of something else their class can do. That said, with a smile, she placed her hands on her hips as she stared confidently at her teacher. "Don't worry, there's nothing bad about that idea so you don't have to worry, Sensei!" Rachel assured him. "But that's the main event for our class. We need a secondary event too. So, I got three more. The first one is apple bobbing, second is a scavenger hunt, which I think would be way cool and fun, and the third can be an obstacle course. What do you think, Sensei?" she asked.

Hayate soon found his centre in the bathroom after first washing his hands and splashing some on his face. He had stared hard, scolding himself intensely for allowing everything to go sideways because a little girl with a crush was using what she considered normal statements about a simple crush into something that sounded a lot worse if you only heard snippets. He had tightened his tie, mussed up his hair as if that was banishing some bad karma and marched to his classroom, ignoring anyone still brave enough to stare at him in confusion about the events at the entrance door.

"Hello class," Hayate greeted, watching them stand and bow at him. He searched the room, seeing many faces that he'd taken the time to memorise at home using the class registry. "Sit," he commanded and waited until the scrapes of chairs concluded to speak further. He wasted no time in pointing to the board. "As you know we have the festival coming up and as a class we must of course fulfill our obligations and decide on a theme or event to do. Now," Hayate stopped to look at Kendou... no wait that was wrong right, looking at his registry. Drat, he found English surnames rather hard to pronounce right. No wonder he was so wrong. "Kendric-san earlier demonstrated that in order to choose an event without incident I will need someone to volunteer to run today's..."

"You're no fun, Sensei. I'm sure everyone else would like a kissing booth. Even if the only person I'd want a kiss from is you," Rachel replied. She didn't care about the boys in her class. Her eyes were only on her teacher. There were really no boys that paid her antics any mind. The only seemed to though into the body of their female peers when it came to Mana. Which Rachel had to immediately shut down with an intimidating look and possibly threaten violence on them. Mana may have been more developed than her and the rest of their female classmates, but that didn't give her male classmates the right to leer over her. But there were times the child couldn't help but be jealous of her friend because she wanted a body that would make her teacher notice her. Instead he was treating her like the child she was.

It irritated her, yet there wasn't anything she could do about it. In the meantime, she decided that she would tease Tachibana Sensei one last time before heading to class. Grinning, she placed her hands on her hips and said, "Fine, Sensei. While you're in the bathroom, you better me thinking about me and only me." What she said wasn't better than her earlier statements, but in her mind, it was funny. Plus, she hopes that someday her teacher will look at her as an adult and not a child when she becomes older. She won't give up until she becomes his mate. Sticking out her tongue, she waved playfully at her teacher before running off to head to the classroom. Naturally, he did get stared at by a few teachers that were nearby as she ran away. Their looks one of concern which is understandable hearing a child say that to a grown adult. To them, it wasn't normal, but in Rachel's mind it was and all in good fun for her.

That said, she couldn't wait for class to begin as she entered homeroom and made her way over to her desk and sat down between her two friends, Mana and Sana.

"No to any kissing booths."

He wasn't going to get into a debate about why kissing booths were not kosher with anything that might dare call itself a centre of learning. Her cheeky smile was endearing if he didn't have to listen to the voice attempting to proposition him. Sure, she had no real understanding at her young age of how important bonds were but this ridiculousness was only going to slow her development into a productive member of society. He thought with some weariness that he may need to finally ask the school nurse to take the girl aside and give the pamphlets he knew were in her office to explain why this was not appropriate to try to make a claim on anyone at her age never mind her teacher.

He chose to retreat. It was the coward's way out. Meh, worked for him.

"Class is about to start. Move quickly. We will discuss reasonable options when I return from the restroom. Anything else blatantly forbidden will be met with disciplinary action."

He did not need the restroom. All he wanted was a moment to compose himself and make a show of outright dismissing her wild fantasies. End any idea Hayate might be entertaining her in any serious way.

Rachel did away with her puckered lips and instead pouted as she stared up at her homeroom teacher. Even though he was always so serious, she still liked him anyway. However, that didn't make it any less of a bummer that he was a by the books teacher. Well, she couldn't complain. He wasn't trash like her previous homeroom teacher who was just mean and creepy towards the students. She could give Tachibana Sensei more credit than them. That didn't mean she was thrilled about the idea of being given extra homework and detention because she simply wanted to show her teacher affection. Even now, he brought up the differences in their ages which made the young girl tilt her head to the side. "We cannot help who we want to be our future mate, Sensei. Besides, it's not uncommon for anyone my age to desire and find their mate early. They just don't do the fun stuff that adults do until they're older."

She gave a cheeky grin, her brow arched to indicate to her teacher what she was talking about. She knew that he knew, but was skirting the issue. She didn't even care that there were other teachers watching them from the sidelines before going to their own classrooms. Rachel wouldn't do anything to get her teacher in trouble. Rachel knew she wasn't old enough to do the things she wanted, but she wanted her teacher to know that she would be waiting for him when the time came. "But don't worry, Tachibana Sensei, I'll wait for you when I'm old enough," Rachel giggled. "Anyway, today's the start of us preparing for our school festival so we have to make sure our class comes up with the best ideas, Sensei. I was thinking a "Kissing Booth"." Rachel grinned again at her teacher, if merely to get a reaction out of him.

Indeed, the precocious child still hadn't removed her delusions about him being her mate. Hayate sighed patiently, watching her squint her face, puckering her lips to give him a kiss on the cheek despite the massive height difference. He was never more grateful that he had grown tall and out of reach of children with ideas that could get him arrested and sent to prison. He decided to hold his ground, nodding slightly to the other girls watching the spectacle, hoping one of them may teach her the Japanese way of decorum.

Judging from their various expressions his hopes were in vain. Perhaps they too saw the chances of correcting her exuberant behaviour was about as likely as him being a stereotypical alpha? He didn't get a degree for this nonsense!

This display of hers took so much time, the unbroken kissy face that drew more than a few eyes was so long that he had to act. Rumours were like landmines. If one exploded, his career would be the one getting its limbs hacked off before he could say 'What was that click?'

"Propositioning a teacher will get you detention for a week with extra homework and a letter to your parents about the importance of respecting hierarchies in Japanese society," Hayate droned, exasperated internally even if his face was like stone. "Besides you are aware the age gap alone..."

Why was he about to give her a lecture on the mechanics of mating? His desire to educate and inform was going to get him in trouble one day. This child, uh what was her surname again?... Rachel-kun would require extra attention to correct her.

Rachel merely laughed as it would seem that her teacher still hasn't gotten her surname correctly. Kendric wasn't a common surname in Japan. That much is clear. But it was amusing to her to watch Tachibana Sensei struggle when trying to address her formally. Thankfully, he got her first name correctly because it would be a bummer to her if he didn't. To her, that would mean he was intentionally trying to get her name wrong. But since it was her surname, she didn't think too deeply into it. Now, she knew Sana, being the strong headed young actress classmate and friend of her would purposely say their teacher's name wrong. If only to annoy him. Mana was always respectful to everyone she interacted with. She was also glad that Mana returned to school when she informed her of their new homeroom teacher being better than their previous one who was deliberately trying to push her poor friend out while being creepy.

Rachel didn't take too kindly to that, but they left and things were normal for their class. But that didn't stop her from having fun with her new teacher. Even now as the other students entered the school, she was the last one remaining while staring up at him with a wide smile as she couldn't help but tease him. "Tachibana Sensei, you still haven't gotten my surname right and it's only been a month since you've been our new teacher," she snickered. "Will me giving you a kiss on the cheek help you remember, Sensei? You are my future mate after all, so it's only natural that you learn to remember your mate's name," Rachel teased him while puckering up her lips. She knew he wouldn't do anything openly to her or allow her to do anything in return to him, but she couldn't help herself. Besides, it was all in good fun for her, and she could only hope that maybe he would look at her as his future mate. Out of other adult males, he is the only one she feels she can genuinely trust that wouldn't do anything to hurt her.

This morning had been absolutely wonderful. He had woken up just before his alarm, had an extra ten minutes in the shower and eaten a good breakfast. The weather was gorgeous, all sun and glorious blue skies. Naturally all this feel good factor derailed his usual strict demeanour, softening him up as he had walked to Astraea Academy instead of taking his car. The birds had been singing to him on the short stroll to his school building and everything had been wonderful.

His first stop had been the staff room. After greeting a few early risers, the alpha had went about his routine. He had packed away his suede jacket carefully, pushing down any wrinkles and then after removing any offending lint he had angled it perfectly onto his cubicle's chair. After collecting his materials, still admiring the birth of what promised to be a brilliant day for teaching young mind's he had finally reached his current destination.

A mad, rare whimsy had led him to the front gate to watch the bright and cheerful minds of the school wander in past him. He was enjoying the air, his usual brisk and unbroken routine had been accelerated by around ten minutes. Maybe he would have a beer and watch the game to celebrate his little bright start to the day? Perhaps he should encourage this addition to his routine? There was so many mundane thoughts flying around his organised brains, the sounds of happy children playing a wonderful background noise to his careful demeanour.

Then reality hit him harder than his mother when she caught him stealing money from his purse as a kid. There was a greeting, a slightly accented voice filled with childish glee and reminded him that this class was a battlefield. The sky appeared to grey ever so slightly as if to say 'ha ha, fooled you' and all that cheer was devoured by his return to battle. Here was the first skirmish...

"Good morning, Kendou-kun," he addressed as formally as he normally would have, looking down at the bright, smiling face of his student Rachel Kendou, one of his problem children, maybe 'the' problem child. Her usual band of friends were surrounding her, each with different issues that he tried to address while they were his pupils.

Little princess in a terrible mess
A kingdom alone, but no love to confess
Dreams of a prince on a tall white horse
Runs like a spirit by the castle walls

It was another sunny day at Astraea Academy, and Rachel was cheerfully skipping along the sidewalk trail that led to the school. Why was she so happy? That was because she got to see her favorite teacher again after the summer break. Naturally, she'd also had to complete her summer homework, which she turned in don't he first day of class, while playfully flirting with Tachibana Sensei, that she only did it because she wanted a reward for doing not only doing her summer assignments, but also if she earned good grades on all of them, she wanted a reward for that too. As per usual, he always denied her with a smack on the head with rolled-up lesson plans or merely chastising her for her inappropriate behavior. But the young child didn't care. She was just happy to have something else to look forward to at school for once.

It's also because of her excitement about Tachibana Sensei being her homeroom teacher that her friends Sana and Mana have become worried about her. Well, Sana more than Mana. It wasn't hard to notice that Sana didn't like their teacher very much, but that was only because he presented as an Alpha. She understood her friend's reasoning behind her actions, but she had told her that not all Alphas were the same. She knew that firsthand, dealing with her 'stepbrother' that she dared never to speak about. Not even her stepmother knew about what he did to her, but as long as he wasn't around, Rachel was fine. Besides, as long as she had Tachibana Sensei, she felt that everything would be okay. Plus, she didn't want to worry her stepparents and stepsister by wanting around and being nothing more than an empty shell of herself.

She didn't like her stepbrother, but as long as he stayed away, Rachel felt she had nothing to worry about each time she went home. However, she knew that whenever he comes home, she made sure to stay away from him as much as she possibly could. Approaching the school gate, the young girl pushed it open and immediately rushed toward the entrance, where everyone was already making their way inside. Immediately, she saw Tachbana Sensei and gave a wide smile. That was for a different reason outside of her usual antics. That was because today was the beginning of the preparations for her school's festival they would be holding soon. Rachel couldn't help but be excited because she had all sorts of ideas her class could do, or something she and her group of friends could do. Either way, she had ideas. "Ohaio, Seeeenseeei!" she chimed cheerfully to the older and taller man who stood by the door entrance. Her Japanese was anything but great, but she knew how to speak it well enough, even if the tone in which she spoke it wasn't respectful, considering she wasn't of Japanese descent.
