She was restless. She heard that many of her classmates at school had fun going to the festival, participating in the amusement park rides, enjoying the performances, and visiting the different stands from games to food with either their group of friends or partner they were dating. There were also classmates of hers that went who were single and came back excited that they met someone while at the festival. Hearing all the happiness around is what made the young teen restless. She was in the human world, going to school, and it was because of what others saw as “weird” habits of always watching people from afar is what prevented her from making friends. To make matters more annoying, Mizore’s mother was constantly messaging her to inquire whether she found a partner yet. This stressed her out greatly. If she didn’t find a mate before she became eighteen, one would be arranged for her out of obligation to produce more of their kind. Mizore knew what that meant. She would be made to pair with someone who didn’t want her because she was a Beta but tolerating her in hopes she would produce Alphas and Omegas. She didn’t want that. Mizore wanted to find someone that would love her even though she was a Beta. She didn’t want to be seen by her secondary gender. She believed it would be different in the human world, but it wasn’t. There were even humans who only acknowledged other Alphas and Omegas if they had high social status. Betas were recognized by everyone, yet many still refused to treat them equally. It was stupid. However, Mizore was here at the festival in hopes that maybe she could meet someone that would become her mate. She didn’t care who it was as long as they weren’t someone that made her want to kill them, she will take anyone. She was … tired of being alone. She was friendless and partnerless. Her heart ached to be seen by someone, anyone. She stood there hiding behind a pole while watching people pass by her with smiles on their faces. Her powers were reacting to her emotions, creating cool air around her. The more she saw smiles, the more the expression on her face showed her sadness and loneliness. ‘Am I … can I … not be loved by anyone? I don’t … want that …’ Mizore thought, a single tear falling down the side of her face. |
