"Haha, it's always fun meeting such interesting people these days."

Name: Fai Flourite

Alias: Fai-san, Idiot & Moron (by Anne), Wizard (by Kurogane)

Date of Birth: November 22nd, 1996

Age: 29 going on 30

Primary Gender: Male

Secondary Gender: Omega

Character's Scent: Lavendar & Butter

Sexuality: Bisexual

Race: Japanese

Species: ¼ Human & ¾ Anodite

Hobbies: Befriending Others, Helping Others, Reading (any books), Listening to relaxing music, Protecting those closest to him

Powers/Abilities: Because Fai is a descendant of the Anodyne Planet, which is inhabited by magical energy beings known as "Anodites" and managed to inherit the powers through his mother, giving him magical abilities more commonly known as "Mana". And Mana varies from person to person, generation to generation, being to being. In Fai’s case, his Mana makes him ¾’s of an energy being due to his mother’s background. He can cast spells with the simple use of his hands, which is easier, but on some occasions, he will use his powers through a staff that was passed down to him through his mother. He can also summon a magic circle, but that is for more advanced spells. The extent of Fai’s powers is unknown to others, but over the years, he has learned to conserve and teach himself how to use them properly and become stronger. He only uses them unless he must do so. In addition to his magical powers, Fai is also a strong and agile fighter, being able to knock back multiple opponents in a hand-to-hand combat battle, where he doesn’t have to rely on magic to fight.

Magic Detection – Fai has the innate ability to sense magic passively, such as detecting barriers or detecting power in people within close range of him. Though he writes off these instances of detection as "intuition" and common knowledge for anyone with a basic understanding of magic.

Offensive Magic Abilities – Fai has shown that he can manipulate and control life energy commonly known as "Mana". This allows him to be able to do the following: create sky-blue and blue platforms (basically used to get around to higher places because he has not developed the ability of flight), portals (creating portals takes a lot of energy), shields, slides, beams, ropes, blasts, telekinesis, chains, cages, safety nets, barriers, bridges, healing (whether it is the wounds of others or drawing in more of his own power to heal his own wound and by doing so, this makes him much stronger) and energy bolts. Fai also possesses a series of other magic-related powers such as telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, levitation (it takes full concentration to do so), spell casting, sensing, memory control and manipulation, and time travel through spells, but Fai rarely uses a time travel spell because of how dangerous they are and the amount of energy they require. Fai maintains a preserved balance of his powers because he has rarely used them over the years. And as such, this has made him quite powerful. He has only achieved his Anodite side twice and avoids doing so unless necessary.

Seals & Barriers – Fai has aptitude with seals, as he can create protective barriers by whistling, which is an example of demonstrated magic by the use of sound and music, but he has stated it is something he doesn’t particularly use often. He has, however, been known to seal another person’s powers within them by merely being around them, forcing them to be unable to use them until he leaves. Once he does, that person (or people) can use their powers once again. This doesn’t work with everyone, and he only uses it when he senses that someone is unable to control their powers. He does this to avoid people getting hurt by the powers of others.

Magic Staff – Fai obtained a staff from his mother, Marie Flourite. It is an ornate magical staff, which she used to cast her spells through, even though she didn’t really need it. She’d passed it down to Fai, and he used it as a way to limit himself from using his powers at full strength. He is never seen walking around with it unless he is actually going up against an opponent that wouldn’t require him to use so much of his magic just to defeat them. And it is rare when he does.

Personality: Despite not being a fully mature Anodite being, Fai is considered pretty powerful in his own right. He is strong enough to seal one’s powers within them to keep them from being used when he is present (mostly done to avoid anyone getting hurt accidentally) and is a skilled, agile combatant. Another one of his many features is that he is known to be very kind and gentle, no matter who he is talking to. He seems to take amusement in addressing people by strange little nicknames. But when it comes to his younger sister Anne, he does not address her by any other name than the one she is given. Yui, his twin brother, is the main one who calls her ‘Annie’, whereas Fai calls her by name as a way to detach himself from her, as they aren't close as siblings, but he makes himself responsible for her since no one else wants to or is willing to look out for her. He enjoys listening to music to just sit back and relax his stress away. If he’s not doing that, he sometimes has a book to read to pass the time. Out of the three of them, Fai is the only one who possesses domestic skills such as cooking, cleaning, etc., while their father worked and their mother was mostly absent due to being a full Anodite from a planet of other Anodites that she reigns over. Fai is actually quite intelligent, even though he plays the part of an idiot quite well. Only those who have been around him to get to know him can pick up on how smart he really is and know for certain that he is not stupid in the least.

Fai has carried a deep emotional burden for many years to the point that he values his own life very little. While he may not fight as often as others with powers or non-humans, when he does fight, he never bothers to fight hard for his life, but will if someone he cares about is being targeted. While on the surface, he displays a happy-go-lucky demeanor with a smile, this hides his unhappiness. The unhappiness he had working in the Cabinet Ministries for the Japanese Government. Nothing major happened, but he noticed that there were people using their positions to do things they shouldn't. Even when he tried to address it, he would be brushed off. He worked that job for five years until he couldn't deal with the environment anymore. He didn't hate the idea of making sure that the country of Japan had things in order, but he couldn't watch certain officials use their positions to help themselves and not the people. He never lost his happy demeanor, and changing jobs helped bring out a goofier side to him. Normally, Fai doesn't allow anyone to get close to him; the only person he was close to was a childhood friend, Kurogane Kagoshima. As for his family, he is close with his mother when she returns to Earth from the Anodyne Planet to visit them. He is close with his father as well because he still works as a politician, but his relationship with his siblings is complicated.

He's never been close with his younger sister Anne because of how much of a spoiled and ungrateful brat she is, who doesn't appreciate anything. He has tried to be a good big brother for her, but he feels he has failed her since she refuses to listen to him when she is told to do something. There have been times he considered using his magic on her to erase her memories, to teach her a lesson, but he has decided against it since she's still young and has time to learn to be a better person. He also didn't want to do it, because he knew if he did, he would be resented for it. As for his twin brother, Yui, he tolerates him. He doesn't hate him, but he doesn't like it when he does things that are clearly inappropriate. One of which is getting involved in a scandal with someone who was mated to someone. Sure, the two of them joked around about different things, but Fai had his annoyances with his brother.

Occupation: Owner & Manager of Melody Cafe

School: ----

Place of Living: Fai lives in a small mansion with his family, which was his father, formerly twin brother Yui, and younger sister Anne. His mother comes and goes, but she does come to the house to spend time with everyone.

Original or Canon: Original

Face Claim: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles - Fai D. Flourite

Appearance: Fai is 6’2’’ with short blonde hair and blue eyes. He has a very slender build, more common in younger males, weighing at most 110lbs, but he has shown he has muscles without being overbearing. He has a pale skin complexion, a pointed chin, a rounded face, and small, rounded eyes. Because Fai is a descendant of Anodite energy beings, were he to achieve his full Anodite form, which would allow him to access other abilities that he does not possess currently, he would completely shed his entire human skin, and his body would be humanoid-shaped, constructed of pure, compressed Mana. The colors of an Anodite vary from person to person, and the most common color amongst females is a deep, dark purple color with an outline of a lighter-dark purple, and their long flowing tendrils of ‘hair’ are a bright pinkish purple glowing color. For male Anodites, it is different. They do not have tendrils of hair, and their body color varies from a series of blue, red, yellow-red, yellow-orange, and other colors that aren’t as feminine. It all depends on what color their powers are when they use them. Since Fai’s color for his abilities has always been sky-blue or blue, his Anodite form would be composed of the colors dark-blue and sky-blue. However, Fai does not wish to mature to such a form because he knows if he does, he will lose his humanity forever. As such, he’s satisfied with the way he is now. Now, concerning his attire, he is usually seen wearing a long white jacket with black gloves that go all the way up past his forearms, black leather pants, and black boots. He also wears a lot of formal wear when necessary, considering that, but he’s been coming out of that attire and wearing clothes that are more casual and comfortable, such as t-shirts with jeans, an occasional suit with suede shoes, the majority of the time. Fai I, Fai II, & Fai Anodite I

History: Fai was born in Tokyo, Japan to parents Goro Flourite (Male, Omega) and Marie Flourite (Female, Alpha). Fai has a twin brother named Yui (Male, Alpha), with Fai being the younger twin, along with a younger sister named Anne (Beta, Female). Fai’s parents met by chance with Marie crash landing on Earth in Japan specifically because she was on the run from other alien species that were targeting her to force her to mate with their kind. Marie is what’s known as an Anodite from the planet known as Anodyne. Anodites are energy beings who can take on human forms as a disguise but isn’t required for them to do so. Anodites have longer life spans compared to humans if mana is available as they can draw energy from it, increasing their power and enabling them to live longer, to the point of being immortal.

When Goro & Marie Met
(click to show/hide)

Marie decided to stay and live on Earth in Japan with Goro where they later had two sons they named both Yui and Fai. The boys were twins and Goro had asked Marie if they would inherit her powers. She explained to him that with Anodites, it will skip a lot of generations before half-human Anodites show signs. More than likely, they would not, and they would just be human. Goro was fine with that answer. Yui and Fai were raised normally and was aware of their mother being an Anodite. In the beginning, neither of them showed any signs of inheriting an Anodite side, but it was at the age of ten when Fai did. Of course, Yui was jealous because he thought it would be cool to have his mother’s powers, but he got over it and became interested in other things. Fai was close with his brother when they were children. That started to change after the birth of their younger sister Anne at the age of twelve when both Fai and Yui were already at the ages of presenting their secondary genders.

Fai was a very free-spirited person, and he liked learning a lot about his mother’s background and where she came from. Sure, he was close with his father, but politics never interested him. But he was proud of his father for being able to protect the people of Japan. Yui was more fascinated by their father’s work than anything and there would be times they would travel with his father to other prefectures or other countries when it was necessary for him to do so. Sometimes, when Fai and his siblings couldn’t go with their father, their mother would watch them, who didn’t mind at all. Though, Fai was always bored, but he never showed it even when hung out with his brother, which the two of them tended to act like idiots, but Fai was playing the part of one because he was bored and there was nothing else to do. Fai is in fact, very intelligent and powerful due to training to use his abilities properly from his mother so learning magic and casting spells came easy for him. It wasn’t something he bragged about at all. In fact, he often would keep his powers a secret and not really use them unless he had to. Usually, it was whenever he saw others being bullied and he used mana shields to separate people from one another.

While it was more common for being discriminated based on one’s secondary gender, it was rare when it applied to anyone with powers, people that were involved in traumatic situations that cannot be fixed who don’t trust anyone who has powers, human or not. So, there were a few times he was yelled at by others for using his powers and assumed he was showing off, when he wasn’t. He didn’t argue. He usually feigned whatever he was feeling with fake happiness that appeared genuine and always apologized, saying he was only trying to help. This demeanor of his is what allowed him to make a lot of friends with others. Some who genuinely wanted to hang out with him and others only being around him for their own interests. Meanwhile, his brother Yui was doing his own thing, often acting like a bit of a perverted wild child and his sister Anne was nothing more than a spoiled brat. His parents did attempt to fix that with his sister, but it oftentimes failed. His mother had decided that while their father was working, she’d took them on a beach vacation to Okinawa. Anne whined like she always does while Fai and his brother agreed to it. It was on this each trip Fai had made a genuine new friend, a boy named Kurogane Kagoshima that was the same age as him.

Kurogane was orphaned as a young age and often visited the beach alone because he hated being at the orphanage. No family wanted a teenager, so he just stayed to himself, alone and angry. Fai was fascinated by him and started addressing him by goofy nicknames which got a rise out of him, making Fai laugh. Though he wasn’t doing it to be malicious, he could tell that Kurogane was alone and wanted to fix that. Though he was just noogied a lot by Kurogane, which Marie proceeded to pound Kurogane on the head. She said she’d adopt him and treat him as if he was her own son. Therefore, he won’t be alone anymore, and he’d have a family. Comically, Kurogane said no, but Marie didn’t give him a choice. It felt like the first genuine time Fai laughed with his entire family. Goro didn’t mind it and believed Kurogane had a promising future if he kept his grades up and worked hard. Fai was just happy that his new friend could come and live with them, even if Kurogane was annoyed by Fai’s behavior and him getting on his nerves the more they got to know each other. Fai and Kurogane did genuinely become friends as time passed. He attended high school with Fai and the two of them would often train with one another. Training as in Kurogane had taken up Kendo and wanted to get better at it. He felt that his peers weren’t strong enough and so he would spare with Fai who he’d tell not to hold back using his powers.

Fai humored him, but still never used his powers to their full potential because he didn’t want to achieve full Anodite maturity where he’d lose his humanity. His mother had warned him and his siblings about that if any one of them were to inherit her abilities. Fai was fine with his life as it was. Kurogane was good with Kendo and Fai wasn’t exactly great at it, but he was taught by Kurogane anyway. Though Kurogane had asked him if he could teach him how to do magic, he told him that was only possible through certain circumstances. Kurogane flat out said he didn’t care. He wanted to learn anyway. Fai said he’d only teach him small spells and nothing more. Their friendship remained even when the two attended university. Fai had nothing he particularly in mind he wanted to do, so like his brother, he decided he’d work for the Japanese Government alongside their father, but he had to learn more to be qualified. Kurogane wanted to join the Japanese Military. Although, a degree wasn’t required, he needed one to obtain a higher position. Fai just studied and worked hard while still sparring with Kurogane from time to time. They still lived at the family home together, but Kurogane at some point eventually moved out which sadden Fai, but he still got to see him regularly, so he was fine, even if it didn’t feel the same.

Even after graduation, Fai’s demeanor remained but shifted to be rather distant. Him and his brother were assigned positions in the Cabinet Ministries by the Prime Minister of Japan. Fai was eager to help the people of his country to ensure things ran smoothly for everyone. However, he soon learned that there weren’t good people who were in positions of power. Most of who he worked around were fine, but there were a small group in other areas of the Cabinet who used their positions to hep themselves and caused unnecessary problems, which explains why there is still some who treated Omegas poorly or those without status despite being Alphas and Omegas poorly as well. Betas were treated poorly, but to some degree, treatment of them had gotten better. He didn’t like that and even told his father that if things didn’t change, he probably wouldn’t stay working for the government for much longer. Goro understood how his son felt as he struggled with those same feelings. While Omegas could get positions within the Japanese Government, there wasn’t a guarantee they would be treated with respect, much less listened to depending on the areas of the government they worked in. He wouldn’t be upset with his son at all. He even told him that working for the government didn’t suit him, because he didn’t look happy. He was like his mother, a free spirit who liked smiling and making others smile with her. He could use that to his advantage and do something else.

Fai contemplated that for the longest time before deciding at the age of twenty-seven to step down from his position. Yui kept his position, but he ended up getting himself involved in a mess where he slept with someone’s already paired mate. Whether his brother was aware of that or not, Fai wouldn’t know, but this person’s mate was a werewolf hybrid and that hadn’t panned out too well for his brother. He was injured badly and had to be put into an induced coma from his injuries. The doctor’s stating there isn’t a chance he would wake up and they need to decide what they wanted to do. Their mother wanted to use her power to heal him because she was already a full fledged Anodite and had the ability to use her power to heal her son. She didn’t want him to die. She wasn’t making excuses for his actions, because she was ready to scold him when he woke up, but Goro stopped her. Not because he wanted his son to die. No, he didn’t like the idea of messing with fate when it involved death. It didn’t sit well with him. Marie cried and yelled at Goro to let her save their son, but Goro said no.

Yui died, leaving only Fai and Anne as their parents living children. Although Marie loved Goro, she couldn’t accept his decision and told him that she needed time away. She was going to return to Anodyne for awhile, wanting to get back in touch with her roots as the reason. She promised she would visit them. It was heartbreaking to see his parents separating over his brother’s death. Now the house felt empty with Kurogane gone, his brother gone, and now his mother. His sister Anne was indifferent about it, saying nothing more. Marie did keep her promise; she visited once every two months to check in on her family to spend time with them. Fai could tell his mother seemed happier each time she returned but also could tell she was lonely not being with his father. Though they slowly began to rebuild their relationship over the course of two years and Fai had decided on what he wanted to do. He became the manager over the Melody Café. He remains at the family home, mostly to help his father take care of his sister Anne who is still a bratty child. He tends to feel bad when it comes to his sister about wanting to remove her memories and changing them to where she was a better child, but he knew his father would be upset if he did that. Much like his brother, he wanted Anne to grow up naturally and learn consequences for her actions and mistakes.

So, Fai does nothing but scolds his sister when she misbehaves and talks back. As for himself, he keeps in touch with Kurogane, but it is infrequent because of his military duties. Whenever he does see him, he is happy and tends to bug him to help him with the café, which he calls Fai a goofy idiot for, but he also can tell that Fai is much happier where he is now compared to what he was doing before. He’s not angry with him about it and just accepts the request to help Fai while still complaining to him how annoying it is. It is clear in some way that Fai has feelings for Kurogane and Kurogane is aware of them, but neither have acted on anything between them outside of friendship. Fai is just happy with meeting new people and putting smiles on their faces whenever they come to the Melody Café.
