Nikolas Johnson sipped his coffee as he listened to Feodora as she explained the situation to him.  For a service provider to lose something as important as an oven could be devastating. Having worked as a Roadie in the past he had seen untold numbers of hotels, Inns, and public housing and if anything went wrong it could be the end of a successful business venture.  Leaning back in his chair he shut his eyes, not out of exhaustion but in deep thought as he took in the sights and sounds around him.  Gone was the rock star, gone was the resident of an Inn, here and now was the Roadie.  A man dedicated to service for a great show, not for himself but for others.  He could hear his late father's words to him as a young snot nosed kid now in his ears like an echo; "A good Roadie knows his job is too make others look good.  Its never about him, but the stars...if he does his job right you will never see him.  But once in awhile he is on stage fixing a problem....and just like that he vanishes"

Shooting his eyes open almost like a stalking predator Nikolas took in his surroundings quickly.  The lights were on and the heater was working full blast.  Whatever the issue was, it wasn't a power problem.  Feodora always ran a strict schedule including keeping utility bills up to date.  That meant whatever was wrong, the power wasn't reaching the oven to ignite a spark needed to get heat going for meals.  Either the oven needed to be replaced, which would be a big problem as he had no idea how expensive a new one would cost or when it could be installed; or it was a small problem that could be fixed with a tweak or too.  Either way he was looking at either a mountain or a moe hill as an old timer told him once.  But he wouldn't know until he saw it himself.  Looking at Feodora and the stress forming on her face ached him.

He hadn't felt this way about a woman in a long time.  Thus he set his coffee down in front of her too get her attention as he said, "Miss. Feodora,  would you mind if I took a look at the oven.  I will admit I'm not an oven designer or builder but if the issue is a small thing that can be fixed in less then an hour without calling a repair man or heaven forbid getting a new oven, I would be happy to help you for your friendship and hospitality. "

Hearing her voice, Nikolas poked his head into the office and said,"Its me Miss. Feodora.  Nikolas Johnson, I heard about the issue this morning and wanted to see if you were okay."  Entering the office he still carried the two coffee in his large hands.  Looking at her now he could see the stress of the day on her eyes and hair lines.  Despite this there was still a hint of beauty to her that he could see in her personality and the kindness in her heart.  It stuck out to him like a scent.

Approaching her desk, he held out the coffee he had made for her, thankfully recalling their lunch at the café, about how she took it and set it down infant of her.  "I figured you would need this and could use some friendly company at this time" he said as he sat down in a chair and sipped his own coffee, enjoying the dark aroma and strength.  He watched her for a moment before asking, "If its okay, can I ask exactly what's wrong this morning?"

Nikolas was actually surprised by Feodora's offer to join her.  Typically because of his size and build many people were intimidated by him.  Still that kind smile of he's was intoxicating and he was quite hungry.  Looking at the waiter he sat down across from Feodora and said, "The same sounds good, with a Melon soda to drink, thank you."  Rubbing his mat of long hair apologeticly he nodded to Feodora as he switched to his native English.  "Thank you very much for allowing me to join you.
I didnt mean to intrude on your lunch.  I just happen to notice you and wanted to say hello."

Thinking on it he supposed English was easier to communicate with even in Japan.  Most people spoke it and Feodora was more comfortable with it.  Of course even in the US their was all flavors English running from sea to shining sea.  His own New Jersey accent may be normal in his own state and New York City, anywhere else he might as well have been speaking German.  Nikolas smiled at the thought as the waiter quickly returned with their beverages and placed them down.

"Thanks for not minding my Japanese.  I'm still learning the basics.  Yet if you can put up with my Jersey drawl I give you great respect for it" he said comically before taking a sip of his drink.  Doing so allowed him to look at Feodora's eyes and he couldn't help but think she looked cute with her glasses on.

Nodding in understanding Nikolas smiled in a friendly way as he said, "Of course I understand Feodora-chan.
My door is always open if I can ever do anything."  He than took a deep sip of his coffee and inhaled the cool air.  It did do wonders for his hangover, not the worst he ever had, but strangley he found talking to Feodora a better source of relief.  He count quiet  explain it but he found an odd attraction to her, something he hadn't felt in awhile.

Sighing he sat down in a chair to finish his coffee and watch her work, hoping to God she wasn't bothered by his presence. It had been awhile since he was speaking to a woman who wasn't swooning over his Rock star persona.  So it was with great difficulty he found himself looking for a topic to discuss with her so as to not sound like a total tool.  Deciding that bring direct was the better choice of Valor.  Nikolas looked up at Feodora and asked, "How long has your family owned the hotel Feodora?"

Nikolas slowly and gingerly took her hand.  He wasn't hurt, far from it, yet felt it would have been rude if he had refused it. He slowly picked himself up and continued to look at her as fought the growing blush in his cheeks.  He didn't know what it was about her but cute was the word that kept springing to his mind.  At the same time despite his large thick hands he was careful with hers as he didn't want to hurt her.

As he stood at his full height he looked down at her and finally spoke after what seemed like forever.  "Thank you, I'm not hurt at all.  If anything I was worried you were hurt."  Putting a hand through his unruley hair he looked away for a moment to try and change the topic.  "Forgive me I haven't properlyintroduced myself.  I'm Nikolas Johnson, I live in one of the rooms here." he said finally getting enough control to look her in the eyes again.

Ever the curious one and perhaps against his better nature, Nikolas walked around the pool path and came across a woman with her back to him griping something in Japanese.  Though not yet a master of the language he could tell the cause of her irritating tone was the mess of cleaning supplies on the floor as she started to clean up.  White hair was a rarity but one he found attractive, plus admittedly he found her glasses cute.  Never one to feel attached to women since losing his father, Nikolas's relationships had been typically one night stands with groupies he met at his shows.  As such it was hard to form that romantic or caring bond he had lost.  Still he couldn't help but blush a little as he looked at her as she worked to pick up the supplies.

She did look familiar to him and he tried to place her.  Then he recalled he had seen her in the kitchen on more than one occasion.  Right....as he recalled her family owned the Inn.  Clearing his throat he came up from behind her and said, "Are you okay?  Do you need help with anything??"

Fighting – Having been part of a gang in his teenage years that involved bullying other students. He often got into fights and developed great fighting skills so there's no doubt that Jonouchi isn't able to hold his on in a brawl against someone. Sometimes he and Honda fight alongside one another to be able to take down multiple opponents, despite being outnumbered quite a lot.

Personality: While Jonouchi displays a tough guy demeanor, he does show that he has a kind heart. Being someone that bullied others in the past, he learned from his mistakes in order to become friends with those he mistreated. This shows in his friendship with Yuugi and the others. He's become more righteous and would do anything to protect his friends or anyone that's being taken advantage of. He's a friend to the end, staying true to his word when he tells someone that he has their back. Jonouchi shows no shame when it comes to standing up for what he believes in, something that he exposes regularly. When it comes to family, he's protective of his mother and sister and he doesn't like talking about his father whom he can't stand and is glad he doesn't live with anymore. Like any big brother, he won't hesitate to scare anyone from his sister Shizuka, who's intentions he doesn't trust in wanting to be with her. Because his sister is an Omega, he knows that there will always be Alphas out there that will attempt to take advantage of her and he'd sooner deck the hell out of them than to let that happen.

There is no denying that Jonouchi himself has a weakness for hot girls and being showered with affection from then, then again, what guy doesn't. However, he wouldn't take advantage of them even if he has an interest in someone. He's grown accustomed to learning how to have fun and trying to keep himself out of trouble. Given that he's an adult now and a professional duelist who plays the famous Duel Monsters card game, he knows he can't act like an immature teenager. He started out as a weak player but over time, he became a powerful duelist in his own right, learning from Yuugi and his grandfather as well as others to implement strategies of his own to show that he is on equal footing with others who play the game. Jonouchi absolutely cannot stand Seto Kaiba, viewing him as nothing more than a spoiled rich boy with no feelings and hates it when Seto puts down his dueling skills. It's bad enough that he in a way hasn't gotten over losing to him and wishes to have another chance to duel him to see which of the two is the strongest duelist.

They butt heads quite often, leading Jonouchi to want to fight Seto and Seto just ignoring him, not finding him to be a waste of his time to deal with. He hates being underestimated, being pegged as the weakest compared to other people when Jonouchi is anything but weak. This causes him to often doubt himself, feeling unworthy of having friends and learning a lot of new things because of these friends. It usually takes a pep talk or a punch to the face to get him to realize that he has a good thing and not to act stupid whenever something goes wrong. He also hates admitting defeat or just has a hard time in general expressing his feelings, often embarrassed to do so despite having a soft side that he doesn't like to show to people. And he's very sarcastic when he wants to be and his temper is very short. Just the smallest things set him off, especially if those he cares about are involved.

His attire varies depending on his mood. It is common lately for his attire to be a blue and white short-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue jeans and a pair of sneakers. History: Katsuya Jonouchi was born and Alpha and the son of Haruna Kawaii (Beta) and Masaru Jonouchi (Alpha). He's also the older brother to Shizuka Kawaii (Omega). He was born and raised in Domino, Japan. Jonouchi's parents were never official mates but they were married and eventually divorced when he was only ten years old. Haruna and Masaru were one of few couples that didn't believe they had to officially pair just to be together and they were able to have children without the interruption of another destroying their family due to not being able to control their Heats with suppressants. What really caused the two to divorce was Masaru becoming addicted to gambling and began taking it out on his family anytime he didn't win. He'd also started drinking which didn't help matters and he'd started physically beating his daughter which later caused her to develop eye problems. Jonouchi lived in poverty with his father because of his addictions to gambling and drinking. He became a street thug as a result and hung out in Hirutani's gang for long periods when he was in middle school. He constantly got into confrontations which developed his fighting skills.

He'd also hung out with another student named Hiroto Honda, who wasn't in Hirutani's gang. Jonouchi had begun bullying others as well, taking his frustrations out on those weaker than him, not caring at all what their secondary gender was. Originally, he bullied his now best friend, Yuugi Motou because he was annoyed by how the male let himself get pushed around. He'd even claim he only did it to teach Yuugi how to be a man and offering for him to punch him back which Yuugi would refuse due to his dislike of violence. He'd also taken a piece of the Millennium Puzzle from the box that Yuugi had all the pieces contained in. Honda had tried to tell him to return it but all he did was mock him for it while telling him to be quiet. It took getting beaten up by another and larger bully named Ushio with Yuugi standing up for both Jonouchi and Honda to realize that that this wasn't the path he wanted to continue to go down. He felt bad for taking a piece of the puzzle and he'd returned it to him, allowing for his new friend to complete it which also began the many odd situations him and the others would get into after this.

 One being that Mazaki Anzu was acting rather strange since she'd began walking home with them all for a few days. Jonouchi thinks that maybe she had began dating older men for pay. Given that many rumors circulated around her, it wasn't surprising that he'd come to this conclusion but Yuugi declares this to be false since he knew that Anzu didn't want to be anything like her mother who was known for doing that or at least trying to find a rich man to late and mate with her. This led Miho and then later Honda to investigate where Anzu was going. But then all three of them began leaving with Anzu which Jonouchi and Yuugi discovered they all had gotten jobs at Burger World. There were two escaped convicts also on the loose. Jonouchi assisted in identifying the first by checking the customers legs for a calf wound after they spilled a basket of toy cars and pretending it was an accident. This led to Anzu getting held hostage by another and he wasn't able to help as he and all the customers were ordered to get down on the floor. Jonouchi didn't see what fully happened but it was clear that Anzu had been rescued by Yami Yuugi by challenging the convict to a Shadow Game.

Soon after, Yuugi was the one that invited Jonouchi and their friends to the Egypt Unearth Exhibition at the Domino Museum. Jonouchi was too busy worrying about getting cursed since there was literally a mummy on display. He'd also became worried that Yuugi was cursed as well when Anzu asked him didn't his grandfather say that archaeologists were the ones that discovered the Millennium Puzzle and all died mysterious deaths. On the day of that exhibition, news broke of Professor Kanekura's death, Jonouchi, Anzu, Yuugi and Sugoroku visited Professor Yoshimori at the university to comfort him. However Shadi, seeking to test Yuugi, had possessed Yoshimori by redecorating his soul room. Yoshimori acted strange and began choking Jonouchi, while Jonouchi's friends tried pulling him off. Anzu freed Jonouchi by walloping Yoshimori in the head with a globe.

Jonouchi distracted the zombie Yoshimori from the others, by having him chase him around the building. Among Jonouchi's efforts to snap the professor back to normal, he punched him the face, knocking out more of his teeth and sprayed him with a fire extinguisher. Eventually, Yoshimori pushed him out a third floor window. Jonouchi managed to get onto a ledge and spotted Anzu, who was being used in the Trial of the Mind Shadow Game, standing motionless on a board hanging over the edge up above him. He climbed up to rescue her, but was followed by the professor. Still hassled by the professor, Jonouchi held onto Anzu's board as its supporting rope began to break. Seeing Yuugi's friends work together and trusting each other, caused Shadi's ushebti to break, letting his Millennium Key, slide down a rope to Anzu, returning her to normal. Jonouchi and Yami Yuugi helped Anzu to safety and Yami Yuugi told Jonouchi to touch the key off the professor to return him to normal. He complied, but also noticed Yuugi was acting different. After seeing everyone was okay, Jonouchi told Shadi he was unwelcome here.

After Shadi left, Anzu asked Jonouchi if Yuugi seemed different to him, but after they approach Yuugi, he had turned back his normal self. When Yoshimori noticed some of his teeth were missing, Jonouchi tried blaming Anzu. During the previous Shadow Game, Yami Yuugi faced an illusion of Jonouchi created by Shadi. They were to play the Game of Death, where each player was to try and force their opponent to walk over the edge and fall to their death. The illusion displayed the traits Jonouchi had when he was bully. Yami Yuugi refused to take his turns, as it was possible he was facing the real Jonouchi, possessed by Shadi. Yami Yuugi's trust in Jonouchi, caused the illusion to disappear, rather than force him off the edge. Jonouchi later took up Duel Monsters, having been introduced by Sugoroku and Yuugi at their shop, where Sugoroku showed them his rare card, the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". Jonouchi made plans to play Duel Monsters at school the next day with Yuugi, just before Seto Kaiba arrived. Learning that Seto plays Duel Monsters, Jonouchi invited him to join them, but Seto ridiculed his cards and told him to come back after collecting at least 10,000.

To get better at the game, Yuugi suggested that he take lessons from his grandfather. The training proves rigorous, yet Joey copes and becomes a stronger duelist. He makes the top eight in the regional. After Seto kidnaps Yuugi's grandfather and then rips up his "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" card, Jonouchi displays bitter hatred towards Seto. Jonouchi accompanies Yuugi in the Duelist Kingdom tournament, to help Yuugi rescue Solomon and so he can use the prize money, to pay for Shizuka's eye operation. Yuugi gives Joey one of his Star Chips allowing Joey to also enter the tournament. On the boat journey to the Duelist Kingdom, Yuugi gives Jonouchi a "Time Wizard" saying it can be useful in a tight situation. The both of them meet duelists Dinosaur Ryuzaki and Insector Haga. Haga asks to look at the Exodia cards that Yuugi has but ends up throwing them overboard to cripple his deck. That's when Jonouchi dives in to the water to rescue them; he manages to retrieve two of the cards, before Yuugi dives in to rescue Jonouchi. Both of them are saved by Anzu and Honda, who managed to sneak onto the boat.

It is on the island where Jonouchi meets Mai Kujaku for the first time. Still an amateur, Jonouchi manages to beat Mai with Yuugi's help and support from Anzu and Honda. He later beats Ryuzaki in a duel, where he is not allowed to accept help from Yuugi. Here he wins Ryuzaki's "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" card by betting "Time Wizard". When the group meet Bakura, they end-up trapped inside Duel Monsters cards, by Yami Bakura. Using his friends as cards, Yami Yuugi duels Yami Bakura. Jonouchi is trapped in the "Flame Swordsman" card, but appears on the field, when Yami Yuugi summons him. Jonouchi offers to sacrifice himself for Yuugi's "Horn of Heaven" so they can stop Yami Bakura's "Man-Eater Bug". Anzu, who has taken the form of the "Magician of Faith", cries over Jonouchi's sacrifice, activating her effect, returning "Monster Reborn" to Yami Yuugi's hand. Yami then uses it to revive Jonouchi. Yami Yuugi defeats Yami Bakura, after using his Millennium Puzzle to switch Yami Bakura's place with the regular Bakura. Afterwards Jonouchi believes the events of the duel to have been a dream. In attempt to get revenge, he has a duel outside of the tournament, against Seto, where he is brutally defeated.

Jonouchi loses confidence after this defeat and briefly leaves his friends before being forced into a duel against Bonz. He manages to beat Bonz and later the Paradox Brothers in a tag duel with Yuugi. Jonouchi then qualified to the semi-finals. Pegasus then mentioned that each duelist must hold one of two entry cards or face disqualification. In order to keep Jonouchi in the competition, Yuugi gave him one of his entry cards. Although Bandit Keith steals Jonouchi's card, Jonouchi proceeds to defeat Keith in the semi-finals, because Mai gave Jonouchi one of her entry cards after she loses to Yuugi. In the final round Jonouchi uses everything he learned from Yuugi, throughout the tournament. Despite their friendship, neither of them holds back and Yuugi wins after a close duel. Joey remains on the sideline cheering for Yuugi in the final. After Yuugi defeats Pegasus, he gives Jonouchi the prize money for Shizuka's operation. Shortly after Duelist Kingdom, Mokuba comes to Sugoroku's shop to inform Yuugi and his friends that Seto had been kidnapped and trapped in a Virtual World. The gang went to Kaiba Corp to help Seto.

Jonouchi, Yuugi and Mokuba entered the MMORPG-like Virtual World, where they completed tasks and met up with Mai. Mai reluctantly admitted it was her trying to avoid them thinking she was their friend. While Jonouchi is helpful in saving Seto, Seto says he wouldn't ever consider Joey a teammate. After Ryuji Otogi transfers to Domino High, Jonouchi becomes jealous of his popularity and challenges him to a duel, where if Jonouchi wins, Ryuji must shut down the game shop he'd just opened, since Sugoroku had been complaining about the loss of business his own game shop was getting as a result. Ryuji sets the stakes so that if he wins Jonouchi must do as he says. Despite Yuugi's objection, Jonouchi and Ryuji duel using whatever cards they acquire in a bunch of Booster Packs. Ryuji wins, with Jonouchi bitterly reflecting that the motivation to help his sister might have pushed him beyond what were otherwise his limits in Duelist Kingdom. Holding his end of the bargain Jonouchi does as Ryuji tells him and wears a dog costume. He was later released of this embarrassment, after Yuugi defeated Ryuji in Dungeon Dice Monsters, freeing Jonouchi. Despite their conflicts, Ryuji becomes friends with Jonouchi.

Later, he'd been getting ready to head to the hospital for Shizuka's operation but gets sidetracked when he is held up in an alley by some thugs and is beat up. This makes him feel unworthy to be present at Shizuka's operation. But Shizuka refuses to take the operation until Jonouchi arrives. Honda manages to find Jonouchi and talk him into coming to the hospital. Shizuka was still angry at Jonouchi for being late, but Jonouchi manages to talk her into taking the operation. There is still obvious tension between him and his mother Haruna because she left him to live with his father but is trying to get past it, seeing as how she managed to remarry and find a proper mate. It was here he'd met his stepfather Yu Kurogata for the first time. He finds Yu to be decent man despite being younger than his mother. He found him to be a better man than his father Masaru who he was still unfortunately living with during that time. Though Jonouchi had a paper-route job where he was not only using some of the money to pay off his father's debts but saving up money to move out eventually as well.

As for Shizuka's operation, it'd gone well and she was able to see clearly again, the first person she was able to see was her brother. After Shizuka and their parents returned to Tokyo, Jonouchi eventually got fed up with his father's ways and left, using the money from his paper routes to be able to pay up a hotel for a few days though Honda offered for him to come stay with him and his family for awhile. He was also able to focus on school a little more, showing improvement in his grades and having decided to pursue a career as a Professional Duelist when he graduated. Anything was better than having nothing at all and Jonouchi was passionate for his love of the Duel Monsters game. So that's what he did. He became a pro duelist, working his way up in any tournament he entered to make a name for himself and earnings. This allowed him to travel to different parts of the world to compete and whether he won or lost, he always was able to take something home. Eventually, the desire to settle down and start an actual family of his own began to kick in. Something that Jonouchi didn't always think about. Instead of returning to Domino, he decided to visit his mother and sister in Tokyo to see how they were doing.

He'd learned his mother had, had another child by her new husband, gifting him and Shizuka with a new baby sister which is was completely excited about. Originally, it was a temporary visit since he was planning to leave right after but it ended up turning into a permanent stay. To save more money, he decided to take up residence at the Amestia Inn. He chose this place because he knew that Anzu and her sister were living there as well and it would allow him to see how she's doing too since he hadn't since her since she was last in Domino. Jonouchi's still a pro duelist and does have to leave for tournaments whenever there is one that he can enter. Occasionally, Tokyo will have a few card tournaments but they're usually smaller ones. However, it doesn't matter to Jonouchi for as long as he has his love of the game and his friends support, he's fine.
