Unfinished & Finished Threads / Re: Room #49: Catching Up (Yuuto)
« on: May 31, 2024, 06:01:58 am »

Yuuto is pleased to know Feodora isn’t shoving the cake in his face.  In the past, with attending some of his previous dates home their mother would be rather forceful when it came to dessert.  Yuuto would politely decline but they found it insulting.  For the sake of the date and not having any displeasure be reported to his stepfather he would force the dessert down.  He is now his own person and no longer has to do that.  Yuuto can’t help but smile as Feodora reveals she will cook again this weekend.  The invitation for him to return was put on the table.

“Depending on what I have going on I may take you up on that offer,” replies Yuuto.  It was nice to be able to talk to someone about Shouta.  Yuuto trust circle is nonexistent.  Discussing Shouta with his occasional mating partner Ryouichi would be odd.  Ryouichi knows of Shouta but doesn’t know many of the details.  While Yuuto is open with Ryouichi there are some things he simply can’t discuss.  He feels the need to protect himself.  With that thought, Feodora opens herself up.  She reminds her brother that, unlike the rest of the family, she is open to conversation.  Yuuto closes his eyes nodding.  Feodora is right.  She isn’t someone you can simply vent to.  She is open to all kinds of conversation.  It’s part of the reason talking to her is so easy.

“Thank you for always being so open Feodora,” says Yuuto preparing to head out.  “Sometimes it is hard to believe we are a part of that family…..”  Yuuto feels slightly guilty as he will use the Usui name when need be.  He has made a name for himself at this point.  No need for him to use the Usui name as much.  In the same breath, he doesn’t want to go back to his previous last name White.  He no longer relates to that part of his life.  His biological father doesn’t even speak to him.  Yuuto finds himself from time to time wondering about his bio dad.  While the memories are blurry from that period of his life the pain of being sent to the Usui’s is very much still there.

He glances at his sister seeing how much she cares for Shouta.  He wonders if it is because she knows more than she is letting on.  Feodora is smart and very observant.  She tells Yuuto what he needs to know. No more, no less.  “I will keep you updated.  Not sure what’s going to happen…..”  Yuuto looks at his big sister whom he loves very much.  “I promise, I’ll be in touch.”  He gives his sister one last big hug before heading out of her home.  He leaves the grounds knowing those who get to taste her cooking are lucky.  Maybe one day he will get to cook something as delicious for Shouta.  Yuuto grits his teeth as he drives down the road.  What he is saying?  Shouta won’t talk to him and doesn’t trust him.  Whatever, what do I care? Yuuto can’t wait to get home to what is familiar to him.  His bed, Sarada, and maybe a glass of wine.

END

This was just the chat Yuuto needed.  Nothing like his big sister giving him the advice he needed.  Yuuto tries to keep some things from Feodora but she will always find out somehow.  He doesn’t know why but he never considered his friend Shouta as a mate.  He just wants his best friend back.  Yuuto can feel his inner alpha stir inside of him at the thought of Shouta.  Something has to be there between them.  Shouta has been through a lot.  Friends is the only things they can be.  Yuuto does notice the feeling of discomfort thinking this.

“It’s fine,” replies Yuuto. “I probably don’t need any sweets.” He would prefer to have her cake when it is completed to her liking.  Yuuto stands up.  “Thank you for dinner, the advice, all of it.”  He chuckles anxiously. “I’m going to get going.”  Yuuto walks to the front door grabbing his coat before sliding on his shoes.  “I promise I won’t wait so long to speak to you.”  Yuuto hugs his sister finding himself not wanting to let go.  Soon he is going to be back in his apartment alone with Sarada.  This is his sign to not push her away when things get hard.

Betas-β / Lillian Summers [Beta]

“Your eyes and body language will reveal your truth”

NAME: Lillian Summers

ALIAS: Lilly (for short), Lilly-chan

DATE OF BIRTH: August 2nd, 2004

AGE: 19

PRIMARY GENDER: Female

SECONDARY GENDER: Beta

CHARACTERS SCENT: Brown Sugar & Aloe Vera

SEXUALITY: Heterosexual

RACE: American

SPECIES: Human

HOBBIES: Writing (Short Stories), Pressed Flower Crafting, Exercising (Walking & Jogging), Reading (Anything to get ideas from for stories), listening to Kpop (Another source to get ideas for stories)

POWERS/ABILITIES: ----

PERSONALITY: Even before Lillian moved to Tokyo, she'd always kept up a healthy exercise regimen where she would walk or jog around her old neighborhood. It is a regimen she follows to this very day. Lillian did it mostly to clear her head and keep her mind off of things, mainly home life and school. The exercise regimen helped her a lot. Writing short stories about anything that comes to mind is another form of helping clear her head. Reading different kinds of books is where she gets her ideas and material from. In recent years she was inspired to write to stories after hearing specific k-pop songs that spark strong emotions in her. Though Lillian has never taken any work that didn't belong to her, if she did, she would always give credit to the original source.

Her previous teachers have noticed her knack for writing and think she should attempt to pursue a career later in writing. Lillian is not sure she should do writing as a career but decided to take a leap in attending university for creative writing. Lillian also does pressed flower crafting on the surfaces of chairs, plates, etc. She learned this in art class in high school which earns her quite a lot of credits and high marks making her chances better when getting accepted into Kiabara University. Lillian is smart but not incredibly intelligent as most would believe her to be because of the simple fact that she likes to read books, read manga and write stories. As a person, she is very sweet, easy to get along with and loves to help others in any way she can. She can't stand to see others unhappy. If Lillian can, she will try and do something nice to cheer them up.

Earlier in life Lillian is often alone due to her parents always working, and hardly ever being home. When they did come home, they have to leave right back out again, causing her to have to fend for herself and take care of the house while they were away. Lillian believes that maybe she did something to be the reason why they don't stay home nor spend time with her, thinking that she might've disappointed them in some way and they're just not saying anything. This led Lillian to have a need for a schedule in her life to keep her mind busy. She hates to disappoint others which is heightened by her parents being absent in her school years. Lillian tries to refrain as much as possible to not have people hate her because she doesn't like having enemies for silly reasons.

Her self-confidence is low. She doesn't believe she is a great writer despite others telling her otherwise. In short, she is her own worst critic when it comes to her work. And she doesn't think they're being truthful to her and is just humoring her. This is why she won't let anyone else other than professors read what she writes. While she likes more than one opinion. If she gets the same feedback more than once this lets her know where she needs to improve. Lillian dislikes having enemies and really detests bullies due to the number of times that she'd been picked on and tortured in school by other girls back home. The bullies she had is the reason behind her insecurities about herself as a whole. She is terribly shy, speaking when necessary or with the friends she does have but with anybody else new that she doesn't know, she reverts into a shy shell.

OCCUPATION: Works Part-Time at Evergreen Bookstore as a Cashier

SCHOOL: Kaibara University, First Year with Creative Writing Major

PLACE OF LIVING: Lilly currently lives in a large home with her parents who are hardly home due to their jobs

ORIGINAL OR CANON: Original

FACE CLAIM: Nakano Miku - Go-Toubun no Hanayome

APPEARANCE: Lillian is 5'3'' with dark blue eyes and medium-length light auburn hair that has strands of hair hanging over the right side of her face. Her light auburn hair can look light brown depending on the lighting. She has a very small physique and a peach-pale skin complexion. She always wears clothes that are quite baggy for her figure so one is unable to tell that she has a reasonable bust size. The clothes make her appear flat-chested when in fact she has C-cup sized breasts. A tee shirt and jeans are her go to but she is known to wear pleated skirts with her cardigan sweater as the classrooms on campus tend to be chilly. It is rare for her headphones to not be present as she listens to music often while writing or practicing other art. Lillian I & Lillian II

HISTORY: Lillian Summers was born in Miami, FL to parents Bonnie Summers(Beta) and Edwin Summers(Beta), she is an only child. Lillian's parents met each other in the grocery store, an unintentional meeting of sorts where their shopping carts crashed into one another. Luckily, no catastrophe was caused but the two of them were quite embarrassed that they weren't paying attention to where they were going, as something could have happened but thankfully it didn't. They apologized to one another, though Edwin, being the conversationalist that he was, struck up a conversation with Bonnie. The two of them discovered that they had quite a lot in common. They started out as friends, slowly learning more about one another. Bonnie was a collector of famous art sculptures and paintings while Edwin was a writer who wrote fiction, mystery and horror novels. After a while, they started dating after a year of meeting that fateful day in the grocery store. They got married two years later, having their first and only child, a girl they named Lillian.

Having Lillian was not something that was planned as Bonnie was surprised to find out during a doctor's visit for her annual checkup that she was pregnant. She was overjoyed as well as scared. Although she loves children, she didn't believe that she would be a good enough mother to her own. Bonnie was also worried that her husband would react in a bad way once finding out that they were going to have a baby. When she told him, he was quite surprised and scared himself, wondering just how someone like him could be a father to such a small innocent child. Edwin promised his wife that they would get through it together and give their child a good life to the best of their ability. They would just have to work hard at it. They did just that. They worked constantly to provide their daughter with a comfortable and happy life that they felt she deserved. And while Lillian grew up a happy child, she grew up alone. While her parents worked, she was watched by babysitters that took more time to get to know the child than her own parents did who just bought things for her they just assumed that she would like.

Lillian is like her parents in many ways. Loves art and liked to write but her parents never took the time to notice. When she would try and show them what she did in school, they would say 'That's nice' and leave right out of the house again to return to their work, causing her to be sad often. Lillian tried her best not to be depressed because she didn't want her parents to feel worried about her out of obligation and guilt. She kept how she felt to herself, and always wore a smile anytime she was around them. It didn't matter if the had a terrible day.

Lillian enjoyed elementary but the students didn't make it easy for her. Every day she was constantly picked on about the littlest things. They were picking at her appearance, calling her stupid, talking about her parents, pulling and yanking on her hair, and pushing her around. They did just about everything they could think of to her. Poor Lillian was practically tortured during her younger school years. This continued all the way up until she became a middle school student at George Washington Carver Middle School. Her parents were busy with their jobs and didn't notice or know that Lillian would leave school crying when picked up by the babysitter

Lillian hated going to Miami high school. Bullying was at an all time high during that period of her life. She didn't understand why she was targeted so much. It's not as if she did anything to the other students. She wasn't the only one that was being bullied, for there were others in her high school classes that received the same treatment. This helped guide Lillian to become friends with that group of students up until she moved away. Lillian completed half the school year before her parents' jobs required them to move from Miami to Tokyo, Japan. Her mother Bonnie had been interviewed for an opportunity to open her own art museum. Her dad thought it was an amazing opportunity, thinking that his wife should go for it. Lillian, who didn't want to move because she'd managed to make friends that she was able to connect with. Lillian was happy for her mother, despite her own feelings. She didn't want to leave what friends she did make behind but at the same time, she felt this was probably for the best.

A new life in a new country is just what Lillian needed. They moved to Tokyo, which was a refreshing change of pace for Bonnie and Edwin since the economy had hit rock bottom in FL. They were blessed to manage for as long as they did to keep up with the bills. Bonnie and Edwin were ecstatic about the move. Their first six months in Tokyo were rough but they managed. Lillian was enrolled in Hakoniwa Academy to complete high school. This school was better as she wasn’t regularly bullied for insane reasons. Lillian struggled to keep up with her peers not knowing much Japanese. Lillian was back to being alone. She kept things she enjoyed doing to herself. The teachers at the academy were supportive. They encouraged Lillian to continue writing. Due to their encouragement, Lillian begins to write more often in her spare time. This led her to improve her writing skills. Upon graduating high school life began to look up for her. Lillian selected Kiabara University to attend for a major in creative writing. She is eager to learn how to improve her writing skills further.

Although in a fresh environment, she continues to be plagued by her old experiences. Her parents constantly working and the bullying led to her occasional anxiety attacks and depression. Lillian does her best to stay out of the way of others and just keeps her mind on other things to avoid depression or having occasional anxiety attacks from all the stress of college and work. Lillian keeping up with her exercising helps maintain her mental state. Her love for art has been coming back recently as she has settled into life at Kiabara University. Lillian would like to expand her art skills. She's learned to do pottery and pressed flower crafting which she finds to be relaxing. Drawing is a little bit more challenging.

Despite being a young adult Lillian wishes her parents would take a breather and pay attention to the fact that they have a daughter. Lillian had the opportunity to live on campus but elected to stay home to be close to her parents when they are around. Lillian understands her parents are trying to do what they can to take care of them but they shouldn’t still have to work so hard. Lillian is working and can help pay her own bills to help their household. Not wanting to add any additional stress Lillian does as much as she can to keep her parents happy.

Yuuto can feel his cheeks heating up as Feodora tells him what he really wants with Shouta is for him to be a mate.  His heart is beating so hard in his chest because for years Yuuto did feel a deeper connection to Shouta.  He always thought it was just the friendship he wanted.  It may very well be more than that.  If Yuuto had to put into words he loves Shouta.  How can he love someone that much after many years?  He doesn’t even know who Shouta is.  In many ways he is the same and not all in one.  Yuuto runs his hands over his face as he listens to his sister describe how he was empty after he was forced to end his friendship with Shouta.  He was.  He can't deny it.  A part of him died that day.  He was never the same.

Yuuto knows nothing about having a true friendship outside of Shouta.  Shouta was the one true friend he has.  Yuuto talks to Hana who his father wanted him to date.  They like being friends.  Ryouichi was only his mating partner when he needed it, which wasn’t often.  How can he even begin to be a good mate?  It’s times like this Yuuto finds his inner alpha stepping forward.  Willing to protect Shouta at all costs.  Despite them just meeting he can see Shouta is very much a desired omega.  So many other alphas want to claim him.  It’s not about just claiming Shouta but loving him, protecting him, giving him everything he couldn’t before.  Yuuto runs his hand through his hair not knowing where to start.  Sticking with friendship is the best choice.  He needs to forget about his deep rooted love for his curly hair friend.  He must tread lightly.

“I planned to take my time,” Yuuto says after a moment.  “I know I probably sound crazy for wanting more but….it’s hard.  I feel comfortable about Sho.  It’s hard to explain the kind of peace I feel when he is around.  Thank you for being receptive of me.  It’s nice to be understood.  Shouta has shown to be emotionally unable.  I need to take my time with him regardless of where things go.”  Yuuto is almost tempted to ask his sister for liquor but decides against it.  He can partake once he is back in the safety of his home.  He knows for a fact Sarada will be there to confront him as he nurses his drink.  It takes everything in Yuuto to not flinch hearing his stepparents brought up.  Yuuto nods glad to know that Feodora was never tainted by that environment.  She stayed true to who she is.  Yuuto is deeply grateful for that.  Otherwise he would have no one.

“I won't allow them to interfere.  They have done more than enough damage.  I wish I had known that earlier.  That they would never be happy with anything I do.  Any sacrifices I made.  I would have never given Shouta up.”  Yuuto begins to eat, almost forgetting about the tasty meal in front of him.  Feodora smiles seemingly happy that he revealed his emotions or maybe enjoying the meal she worked so hard on.  Yuuto is more than pleased when he finishes the meal.

“I haven’t eaten that good in a while,” he chuckles.  “Any dessert big sis?”  He smiles.  Yuuto is not one for sweets often.  Something tells him Feodora would put her foot into dessert as well.

Yuuto nods, understanding his sister’s reaction completely.  Most people on the outside view the Usui family as powerful, rich, high society, and that their life is perfect.  It is far from that.  Yuuto never bothered to explain this to anyone he would run across.  Those who are meant to know about the truth of his family will see it on their own.  It’s why Yuuto wants to shield Shouta from seeing his family.  Yuuto's mind is focused on regaining Shouta’s trust and move forward with their friendship.  He brings his mind back to Feodora.  Yuuto knows for a fact Tatsuya won’t change.  He is grown and still acts like a spoiled teenager.  Neji has been cordial with him but Yuuto doesn’t trust him.  It’s going to take a lot more than a few conversations to earn his trust.

“Your reasons for leaving are valid Feodora,” he replies.  “I dislike that we both felt the need to distance ourselves but we both are in a much better place physically and mentally.”  Yuuto stares at his sister feeling proud.  Times like this he wonders if this is what their mother was like.  So loving, supportive.  He tries not to think of it often because it would make him emotional enough to cry.  How can he cry over someone he barely knows?  It’s his mother.  Deep down he feels that a lot of her lives in Feodora.

Yuuto tenses hearing Feodora's suggestion in regards to Shouta.  There it is again.  His heart beating hard, betraying him in every way possible.  Would it be so bad if he wanted something more with Shouta?  Yuuto holds in growl because he feels like wanting more from Shouta would be crossing a line.  Shouta doesn’t even want to be friends right now.  He could care less if his family will accept Shouta or not.  They no longer have a say in who his mate is.  Anyone they suggested in the past was horrible for him.

“Thank you Feodora,” Yuuto responds timidly.  “I appreciate your support always.”  He chuckles anxiously.  “Leave it to you, forcing me to think.  Friendship with Shouta is important to me.  I remember what we had and I want that.  I want him in my life.”  Yuuto drops his head as the fear rises in him.  He has never cared for anyone the way he does Shouta.  He did hurt Shouta in the past but he would never do so again.  He would step up not only as an alpha but a true mate.  “I would be honored to take him on as a mate.  That is something he doesn’t want, especially with me.  Friendship is better than nothing.” Yuuto fights to not tear up.  He has never admitted out loud about wanting a mate ever.  Especially with Shouta Akimoto.  Yuuto wipes his eyes, ridding them of tears that begin to fall.  “I don’t want to force Shouta to do anything.  He will either accept the friendship or he won’t.  I will keep trying but won’t press too hard.  It’s difficult.  I don’t know what will happen.”  Yuuto sighs wondering if he said too much.  It is his sister after all.  If it is anyone who can know how he truly feels, it is her.

“You know how he can be,” replies Yuuto.  “Stepfather won’t back down.”  Yuuto doesn’t fully understand why his stepfather took him away from his bio dad.  All he did was treat Yuuto like a pawn for his business ventures.  Try to control him at every chance he could get.  He never stopped his siblings or stepmother from treating him like crap.  Then they took away the only person who made him feel alive.  Yuuto continues to eat seeing his sister appear deep within thought.  He wonders what she is thinking about.  Feodora kindly states Shouta will forgive him.

Yuuto holds in a sigh.  It doesn’t feel like it.  Yuuto knew their friendship was special but now he truly knows how much it was.  His heart flutters a little.  Yuuto doesn’t understand why.  It’s not like Shouta is here giving him that icy glare.  He knows Shouta is different and so is he.  Yuuto believes at the core they still get along well.  Despite how standoffish Shouta is he still trusts him as much as he does his sister.  Feodora inquires about his friendship with Shouta.  His alpha moves within him at the thought of him and Shouta being more than friends.

How?  He wanted to be friends.  Right?  Yuuto can feel his cheeks heating up.  He remembers seeing Shouta passed out.  He never felt so scared in his life.  It’s far from normal to see an omega in post heat releasing such a strong scent and fainting.  He was thankful to be there before that female alpha could take him away.  Yuuto begins to ask himself what does make Sho special to him.  It’s not just the fact Shouta is an omega.  He is an omega that accepts him.  He doesn’t treat him as if he is a pawn, rich, or a top alpha.  The more Yuuto thinks about the more he feels like Shouta would be the perfect omega for him.  He glances down as he never thought too hard about finding a mate.  Should he even really be thinking about Shouta being his mate when they are not even friends?

“I honestly don’t know Feodora,” he says lowly looking at his plate.  Yuuto has dated a few people but mostly at the push of his father.  He didn’t really care for the people he dated previously.  Yuuto is not even sure what it feels like to truly be interested in anyone romantically.  He refuses to have that kind of conversation with his sister.  He is not sure it is the kind of conversation he wants to have with anyone.  Yuuto places his elbows on the table burying his face into his hands.  Why does this question have to be so hard for him to answer?  God….

Yuuto knows the residents at the in are very lucky to experience his sister cooking from time to time.  Meals always taste better when the chef is giving it their all.  Feodora is so patient and kind as she listened to Yuuto explain what happened previously.  Feodora is visibly upset when Yuuto explained what Tatsuya did to Shouta.  Yuuto meant every word he said.  He knows for a fact he will never leave Shouta alone with their so called family.  Yuuto is taken back when his sister apologizes for not being at the house during the attempted assault.  She is so hard on herself.  Tatsuya is a grown man.  He knew exactly what the heck he was doing.  Feodora shouldn’t take that blame on herself.

“That he is,” Yuuto agrees.  “Feodora you did nothing wrong.  You have your own life to live.  Tatsuya knows the difference between right and wrong.”  Yuuto sighs.  “One day he is going to cost stepfather everything if he continues to move this reckless.” Yuuto eats a few more bites of Feodora delicious meal.  “Sadie is a wonderful woman and friend to Shouta from what I have seen.  I’m not use to seeing females best Tatsuya in the way she did.” Yuuto chuckles at the memory.  He thinks over what Feodora just said.  Why didn’t they press charges?  Yuuto shrugs feeling imprudent that he couldn’t answer that.  He is positive Tenji would have made the charges disappear anyway.

Yuuto tenses as Feodora explains how he should understand Shouta feelings regarding him.  Leave it to Feodora to be the voice of reason.  Yuuto can’t help but still be upset deep down regarding Shouta’s distant and cold disposition towards him. “I do but I don’t,” he replies trying to keep his voice even.  His alpha moves within him causing him to grip his fork a little tighter.  “I know what I did hurt but it hurt me too.  I tried apologizing.  I tried explaining but it’s like he didn’t even care.  I thought what I was doing was right for us both at that time.  You said it so yourself.  Stepfather is cold blooded.  Yes, I am most certainly paying price for my actions.”  Yuuto munches on his meal to calm down a bit.  “No one will interfere with my decisions.  It’s my life to live.”  Yuuto learned a hard lesson the day he ended his friendship with Shouta.  He is not going to make that mistake again.  He sighs as Feodora asks about the whole mate thing.

“Unfortunately, he still tries to set me up from time to time,” he replies.  “I understand it is good for the sake of his business but none of those people were my type.  They were so shallow, materialistic, and just terrible all around.  I don’t understand why he is focused on me finding a mate.”  A few people, very few did Yuuto meet that he can withstand.  One he is still friends with till this very day.  She broke the mold.  She came from money, but she also doesn’t act spoiled.  She envies people who aren’t rich.  They can come and go as they please.  Truly live and enjoy life.  They don’t have to worry about their parents fixing them up only with elite people of society.  They have a chance to find true love, a true mate.  She and Yuuto bonded over the fact they don’t care to find a rich mate.  They just wanted a good person who loves them.  While they had chemistry Yuuto alpha’s wasn’t taken by her.  It is nice he has someone to talk to from time to time.  Yuuto is fine being alone until the right person comes along.

Feodora smiles but Yuuto knows there is more to that smile.  He loves Feodora very much.  He appreciates everything she has done for him, every sacrifice.  Without her, he wouldn’t know what family truly is.  Feodora begins to look like herself again.  She goes to check on the meal firing off many questions causing Yuuto to feel flustered.  He doesn’t even know where to start as Feodora sets the meal down in front of him.  Whenever he thinks of Shouta he constantly thinks of what he could have done differently.

“This meal has great presentation,” replies Yuuto looking up at her smiling.  He dislikes when people just toss a meal onto a plate.  Give the food some love and care.  Yuuto can’t help himself but to grab a bit onto his fork blowing on it before taking a small bite.  He begins to smile.  “Feodora, this is delicious,” he chuckles before smiling and eating a few more bites.  “Thanks for preparing this.  I needed a nice loving meal.”  Yuuto begins to think about where to start with Shouta.

“To answer your question yes, my mind is on Shouta,”  Yuuto blushes looking down at his plate as that didn’t come out in the way he wanted.  “I ran into him looking for you a few weeks ago.  I walked in on Shouta's friend and business partner Sadie putting her foot up Tatsuya *ass*.”  Yuuto smirks at the memory. “Not seriously but she definitely showed him he is not to disrespect her or Shouta.  I’m glad she stopped him from whatever his true intentions were.
We both know how he is I'm sure no good would have come of it.”
Yuuto takes another bite as the events are coming back to the forefront of his mind.  Not that he can ever forget Tatsuya trying to touch his friend in any manner. “Shouta wouldn’t even look at me……  Soon as he realized it was me he avoided eye contact.” Yuuto feels sad because even now he feels that Shouta hasn’t truly forgiven him.  He didn’t mean to hurt him.  He truly thought he was doing the right thing at the time.

“If not for Sadie I don’t think he would have even spoken to me,” he continues.  “I didn’t know my actions upset him so much.  I explained to him why I ended our friendship.  How it was not completely my doing.  It didn’t matter to him.”  Yuuto shovels more food into his mouth to gather his thoughts.  “A work contact informed me that Shouta graphic artist was out very last minute.  Shouta would need someone to step in until they returned.  I could use more practice and the bonus is I get to work with Shouta.” He sighs unable to hold this one in.

“He set up a meeting at Melody Café,” Yuuto explains.  “Soon as he laid eyes on me, I could see him tensing up.  He didn’t want to hire me even though I do good work.  My work speaks for itself.  Shouta said me working for him is a conflict of interest.  I can separate work from personal.  I was in the process of trying to convince him when we were interrupted by heat, post heat, something.”  Yuuto sits his fork down unable to focus on his meal as all the emotions he felt come rushing back to him.  “It’s complicated.  Something is different about Shouta and I don’t know what.  He wouldn’t go into details.  Rightfully so….he doesn’t know me.”  Yuuto goes quiet as he recalls how things ended with them.  He slides his right hand through his hair trying to relax.  Shouta has every right to feel the way he does but a part of Yuuto doesn’t feel that way.  He feels that Shouta should be more welcoming considering how close they were.

Yuuto decides not to inform Feodora how he almost went into rut.  It was the first time ever he had taken suppressants and they didn’t work.  Everything worked out since he told Shouta to leave before things could go any further.  Shouta's scent continues to linger in his apartment but he doesn’t mind.  Shouta's scent gives him a sense of calm he can’t explain.  “Um I haven’t spoken to him since I completed the project for him.  I have his number, we could text, but I feel like I would be overstepping somehow.”  Yuuto finally looks up making eye contact with Feodora.  “I’m afraid he will hate me forever.  I want Shouta in my life again.”  Yuuto rubs his eyes as he feels them water up.  He breaks eye contact feeling silly busying himself with eating more of his sister’s delicious meal.

Many thoughts are running through Yuuto's mind as Feodora finally speaks up.  Her tone is soft, and comforting, he can tell she is trying to understand him.  The omega he took to his home is certainly not a stranger.  He didn’t even realize how crazy he sounded previously not mentioning that.  Yuuto nods his head thankful his sister is open to listening to him.  The rest of the family fails in this department.  His stepfather may listen but he still going to state his opinion and god forbid you don’t listen to him.  Moving out was the best decision he ever made.  He is lucky is even working for him.  However, making a decent living took priority.  Yuuto pride must be put aside.  He must admit the salary he makes for his age is impressive.  He doesn’t want anything.  Yuuto never asks his step-parents for financial help.  That is a must as he wants nothing to do with them.

Yuuto notices the wheels in his sister's brain turning.  Her eyes light up as soon as it hits her.  She asks for clarification just to ensure who Yuuto is talking about.  He fights down the blush that threatens to come across his cheeks.  Why did she have to say it like that?  He misses those days when Shouta would give him comics to read.  Shouta would also be excited to ask him what he thought of the comic.  What were his favorite parts were.  Yuuto smiles on the inside at the memory before Feodora reminds him how some people went out of their way to make him unhappy.  Feodora looks as if she feels terrible for bringing that up.  She swiftly asks if Shouta is his friend.

Good question.  Yuuto hasn’t spoken to him since.  They are working on their friendship rekindling but he does consider Shouta his close friend.  He finds it interesting getting to know him for who he is now.  He has yet to see that excited smiling Shouta but he knows he must be in there somewhere.  Feodora begins to openly express how she felt back during Yuuto childhood.  Yuuto has always known that what happened bothered Feodora.  She is the one person he can truly rely on.  She understands him for many reasons outside of what happened to him.  After all she lost their mother just as much as he had.  Yuuto finds himself becoming worked up as Feodora sorrowfully admits she fails him.  Yuuto has never felt this way towards his older sister.  She won’t even look at him as if trying to hide her grief.

“You didn’t fail me,” he says trying not to become emotional.  “Without Shouta you were the one thing that kept me going.” Yuuto has much he wants to say.  He doesn’t like talking about their family.  His father……he feels his father was a coward.  He let his stepfather take him away to a country he wasn’t too familiar with.  He was with a family who doesn’t truly love him.  Yuuto sighs before hugging his sister.  “I know you did everything you could.  I appreciate you more than I could ever say.”  Yuuto hugs Feodora tightly hoping she knows none of this is her fault.

He gives a small smile hearing how excited his sister is that he is getting more work but there is also that hint of concern.  Yuuto doesn’t have too many hobbies outside work.  No loving mate, he doesn’t see his family that often.  It is normal to be worried for anyone’s wellbeing if they are a workaholic.  Working does help him to keep from thinking so much about….everything.  Especially Shouta who has been on his mind heavily since that day.

“I was asked to specifically be on this project,” explains Yuuto.  “In this case I know the comic author.  I wanted to help them.”  Yuuto has moments where he can be stubborn and this is one of those moments.  Knowing that Shouta was the author behind the comic he certainly wanted dibs on this assignment.  He was hoping it would help them to get to know each other.  Now he is not so sure about that since Shouta hasn’t spoken to him since.  He holds in a sigh remembering to pay Sadie a visit at the bookstore.  Sadie can be rather…..outspoken.  In this case it helps as she knows Shouta far better than he does.

Yuuto comes out of his thoughts as Feodora scolds him for not taking the omega to the hospital.  She isn’t wrong.  Interesting how even Feodora knows something is wrong.  It is not normal for an omega to pass out in the way he did.  Yuuto didn’t even tell Feodora this was after his heat and not during.  Despite Shouta explaining his situation Yuuto knows he was not told everything.  Some key information was certainly missing from the conversation.  If it was any other omega Yuuto would have taken them to the hospital.  He debates on how much to reveal to his sister.

“You are right,” he admits.  “I should have taken him to the hospital, but I could tell he didn’t want to go.  He was very uneasy during our short time meeting.  It makes sense seeing as how we know each other.” Yuuto clears his throat feeling nervous.  “I feel like everything was under control until this female alpha cornered him by the restrooms.  Thank god I went to check on him.  She was all over him.  I was in the process of requesting her to release him, but she wasn’t letting go without a fight.  I didn’t like that and I know she could feel it.  Shouta passed out saving me from snapping on that female.”  Yuuto runs his hand through his hair remembering that moment clearly.  He went from wanting to attack that female alpha to needing to protect Sho at all costs. “It was hard work to get him into my home alone, but I think it was worth it.  Since he passed out his scent was releasing heavily.  Shouta looked a little better when he came to knowing he was in my home under my care.” This is the first time he has mentioned Shouta name to Feodora.  He wasn’t trying to hide it but is slightly anxious if his sister will remember who Shouta is.

Yuuto stops talking as he remembers all the chatting him and Shouta did.  He tried to understand Shouta only to find out he completely doesn’t.  Just the bare minimum which is his love for American comics.  Shouta is an omega who is a virgin.  He doesn’t like being touched or being intimate from what Yuuto has witnessed.  It is understandable.  At Shouta’s age that is just unheard of.  Perhaps his friend has yet to meet the right alpha.  Yuuto shifts his eyes trying to kept his inner alpha at bay.  Tends to act up whenever he thinks of Shouta.  That is not a discussion he wants to have with Feodora.

He smiles to himself hearing how Feodora wanted to cook a proper meal.  She always cooks excellent dishes.  Yuuto would never admit it but Feodora inspires him to cook from time to time.  He must stick with basic meals and nothing complicated.  It takes a while for Yuuto to get tired of eating the same old thing.  Every once in a while, he may crave something new.  He has no doubt Feodora will take care of that tonight.  Yuuto is taken back as Feodora hugs him.  She must really miss me he thinks to himself.

Feodora explains that the food will be ready in a few minutes.  The way it smells Yuuto wishes it was ready now.  He glances around his sister's place.  It is cute, cozy and so her.  He is caught off guard as Feodora hugs him from behind.  She is happy to see him but knows something is wrong.  Yuuto can feel his body tense as he still hasn’t decided how much he wants to reveal to his sister.

“I wanted to catch up,” he replies.  Feodora releases him on full alert.  Her eyes sparkling waiting to hear what he has to say.  Yuuto loves how attentive she is.  Even when he was younger her eyes always lit up when he was talking.  She cared about his interests, and what he wanted to do with his life.  He honestly could go without speaking to his family for the rest of his life but Feodora.  “Work has been work.  I have taken on a side project I just completed recently.  I almost didn’t get the job.  I believe the only reason I did is I processed the work for free and......the omega passed out at Melody Café.  I couldn’t leave him there, so I took him back to my place.”  Yuuto closes his eyes taking a deep breath.  It has been 3 weeks since this happened but his mind, his body remembers it has it happened yesterday.  He feels his alpha move within him holding in a growl.  He will never forget Shouta’s scent.  He still has the poor guy's coat hostage in his room.  Yuuto opens his eyes to see his sister staring back at him curiously.
