History: Born in America to Hiroto Nagomi(Alpha) and Juliet Oakley(Omega) in sunny California. Hiroto had no plans of becoming a father yet alone married. Hiroto went to the United States to further study being a relator. Hiroto is a licensed realtor in Japan but wanted to expand his knowledge. He went to Hollywood to get picked up to work for a top brokerage selling homes to the wealthy. Juliet was hired to decorate a property Hiroto was preparing to sell. She was smitten with his dedication to his career and impressed with his knowledge of American culture. Juliet asked Hiroto out on a date stunned when he refused. Juliet collected herself moving on. Hiroto saw how quickly the home sold that Juliet designed. He hired other designers, seeing the homes would sit on the market for months. Hiroto requested Juliet's services once more to test her. The home sold swiftly impressing Hiroto. He invited Juliet to lunch as thanks for her hard work. Over time Hiroto began to spend more time with Juliet in his spare time. After a year of friendship, Hiroto asked Juliet to become his lady. Juliet happily accepted.
Hiroto was planning to leave America in another year. Plans were changed when Hiroto and Juliet discovered she was pregnant. Hiroto went through a wide range of emotions as he feared what his parents would think and how this would affect his career. Juliet was thrilled, always wanting a child. Hiroto pushed himself further, becoming the top seller at the relator brokerage firm he worked for. Hiroto asked Juliet to be his wife. The two had a private ceremony on the beach when Juliet was 4 months pregnant. By the time Kaede was born Hiroto and Juliet were living comfortably with their baby boy wanting for nothing. Juliet stopped working and focusing on Kaede until he went off to school at 5 years old.
Kaede had an amazing childhood. He had plenty of friends through his father’s colleagues. Since Kaede didn’t go out of his way to be social if not for his father he wouldn’t have had friends. Kaede got to attend a private school. At this age, he was not aware of he was attending a private school. Hiroto wanted to ensure his son had the best education. Hiroto enjoyed going over to his friend’s homes or having them come to his. Juliet would always cook for him and his little friends or have tasty snacks. As Kaede got older he disliked how often his father would have him study after school. His father would constantly say if he was in Japan he would be pushing him harder and he should be thankful. Kaede didn’t mean to upset his father but wanted to be a normal kid and play as much as he could in his free time.
Kaede life is uneventful until one unfortunate April evening during his 8th grade year. Kaede had presented as an omega during gym class. An alpha violently took Kaede against his will. It wasn’t just any alpha but someone he considered a friend, someone he trusted. Kaede tried to fight back which displeased the alpha. His head was smashed against the wall knocking him unconscious. Kaede was found by the music teacher, but the damage had already been done. Kaede parents were contacted immediately. Hiroto and Juliet rushed to their son’s aid. Juliet was visually upset whereas Hiroto was enraged requesting immediate action against the alpha who hurt his son. It became clear the private school had no desire to take any action against the alpha who attacked Kaede. The school didn’t want to risk losing donation money for the school.
Hiroto was ready to head back to his home country Japan, but Juliet begged him to stay. Juliet believed they could get past this. Kaede fell into a deep depression not wanting to go back to school or do anything he use to. Kaede was not only scared physically but mentally. This became known as the incident as Juliet doesn’t like to face the reality of what happened to her son. Seeing Kaede in such a state Juliet decides it is best for them to relocate. She believes the new environment will be good for Kaede. The family relocated to Japan over the summer. Kaede was enrolled in Hakoniwa Academy. Kaede knows intermediate Japanese as his father taught him from a young age. Despite knowing the language Kaede struggled to connect to his peers. He wanted to be left alone and focus on his studies.
Meeting Grandmother Reiko is the highlight of moving to Japan for Kaede. She was aware of what happened to Kaede and was the only person to reach him, encouraging him to heal. Reiko started to teach Kaede to sew. She was impressed with how quickly he caught on. Reiko suggested that Kaede see a therapist to provide him closure. Kaede trusts Reiko following her advice for him to get a therapist. Hiroto was willing to do anything to see his son gain his life back. Both parents were very focused on helping Kaede in any way they could happily covering the costs of his sessions.
Kaede went through 2 therapists before he found the right one for him. This therapist helped Kaede to deal with emotions regarding the incident and how to move forward. During this time is when Kaede began to dabble in cooking and taking up swordsmanship. He has good memories of Grandma Reiko showing him traditional Japanese recipes while his mother shows him American recipes. Kaede realized how much he loved cooking. He began to cook more often, sharing his goods with his classmates. Kaede went from being the quiet guy to the go-to guy when you wanted baked goods. Most of the girls would ask for advice or request Kaede bake goods for them to hand off to love interests. Kaede liked that he was able to help. By his senior year, he decided to enroll in Kaibaray University to become a professional chef. Hiroto was pleased his son landed a job at Melody Café. Kaede didn’t need to work but he wanted to work. Working at Melody Café helped Kaede to do what he loves. He dreams of owning his own bakery one day.
Working at Melody Café allowed Kaede to see many people from different walks of life. He knows he can’t help everyone he meets but he can make their day with good service. Kaede likes his coworkers but doesn’t consider them to be his friend. Going into his 3rd year at university Kaede began to feel pressure from his father to mate. Kaede has closure from what occurred but doesn’t feel ready to have a mate. Juliet and Grandma Reiko are supportive of his decision. Hiroto wouldn’t stop bringing it up causing Kaede to move out. His father didn’t think his son had the guts to move out on his own, but he did. Grandma Reiko agreed to help Kaede pay half his rent if he stays in school, keeps a job, and earns his degree. Kaede promised to not let her down. He is enjoying attending university, working, and living on his own. Kaede is looking forward to living out his dreams one day at a time.
