You shouldn't have messed with me, 'cause I heard that you're afraid of m o n s t e r s. Name: Akane Shirubātatchi
Alias: Evil Eye, The Gin Grip, The Jeweler
Date of Birth: May 28th, 1996
Age: 26
Primary Gender: Female
Secondary Gender: Alpha
Character's Scent: Gunpowder and Leather
Sexuality: Pan.
Race: Japanese.
Species: Human.
Hobbies: Reading, Leatherworking, Music.
Powers/Abilities: Argyrokinesis - The ability to manipulate silver. Think metal bending from avatar, but without the kung fu. Good example would be Hamrio Musica from Rave Master. She likes to keep some in her gloves via intricate silver rings/lining the inside of the gloves with silver, as well as any jewelry she wears is also silver.
She can make it move as a solid or like liquid and can shape it however she desires, and can force it to maintain its form beyond what a typical structure made of silver could. For example were she familiar with the mechanics of a firearm, she could replicate a fully functioning firearm out of pure silver, capable of withstanding the rigors of firing appropriate rounds.
The more silver she has at her disposal, and the more she concentrates, she is able to make denser and more durable constructs out of silver she controls. She wouldn't be able to for example stop a speeding car with a couple pounds of silver, but she could stretch it thin and potentially cut the vehicle down the middle as it races toward her for example.
Personality: Calm, cool and collected, an actions speak louder than words sort of woman, typically serious but she tries to make jokes from time to time, and she doesn't know why people can't tell when she is joking. Her glare is enough to send a chills down the spines of even the hardiest mortals with sense to them. If you anger her, you won't know what hit you until your life is already over, or ruined. She takes particular joy in outsmarting someone who thinks they're the
shit.
She once found out that one of her informants was feeding her false information and reaping the rewards for it. She was at first forgiving, in a world of secrets and intrigue one is bound to encounter misinformation here and there after all, but she didn't make it this far by being trusting. After turning her attention to the traitor she found out that not only was he doing it purposefully, he'd bragged about it to his colleagues and insulting her behind her back. That was not something she would take lying down. She found out about every little aspect of his life from his blood type to and family history down to his Individual Number, daily routine and every website he'd ever visited and proceeded to dismantle it behind the scenes. His family disowned him after discovering his secrets, his wife divorced him for another man taking the kids and his dog with her, taking most of his assets with her, and the rest of what he had left was frozen shortly after by the government for suspicious activity before being seized wholesale. A warrant for both crimes he has and has not committed was put out on him forcing him underground entirely as his life rapidly spun out of control. He tried using his own skills and utilizing the very network he thought he could sabotage to figure out the source of his woes to no avail. Eventually he came to her for help, unaware that she'd orchestrated everything to begin with and after getting him right where she wanted him, revealing every little detail of her retribution to him while he watched helplessly. The last thing she showed him was the recording of him saying "The boss lady doesn't know ****. I could tell her the sky was zebra striped, she'd pay me and then the dumb
bitch'd try to sell it to some yakuza." After one feeble attempt on her life, and a call to a cleaner, he was never seen again. Everyone else in her network got a special bonus that day, and she popped the cork on a bottle of aged wine that she'd bought just for the celebration of a completed retribution.
When she's not being the cool overmind of the criminal underworld that her agents and clients often see her, she does live the life of a human when prying eyes aren't looking.
She has a study lined with books in a variety of topics that she enjoys reading, ranging from various scientific journals and studies, to historical collections. That said roughly a third of her shelves are actually fictional light novels and manga, spread thin and placed high out of view. When she was little she enjoyed mystery novels but as her career in the underworld grew she found that many were quite naďve about the world she found herself, filled with main characters that either got ludicrously lucky or the author flat out cheated for them, or they were vastly too predictable/unpredictable. She has a particular disdain for Sherlock Holms stories.
She's picked up a new hobby in the last couple years, that hobby being leatherworking. She finds it to be an interesting craft that takes more thought and effort than her silverwork does. She grew tired of the lack of durability of the gloves she'd used for so long and one day the thought that if you wanted something done right, you just have to do it yourself came to mind. After a good deal of trial, error, and frustration, she's developed enough skill to make not only a comfortable pair of custom gloves for herself, but she can make other articles of clothing to a slightly lesser quality like jackets and belts. Nowadays she finds the process therapeutic and a calming experience to destress after a long day.
Her musical tastes often confuse her assistants and visitors. By far her current taste in music is the new Lo-fi trend that's cropped up over the last couple years, and she claims its good background music for just about anything you want to do. That said when she's not content to just have background music, her playlist shuffles through a menagerie of other genres and even languages. From hip hop to country music, instrumentals and purely vocal works in just about any language that catches her fancy. She'll groove to lyrics she doesn't even know, and if you catch her singing along, her look is enough of a warning to know that you'll never tell anyone what you heard, even if it was cute.

History: Akane Shirubātatchi is the daughter of a long line of silver smiths, their blood runs through her veins as strong as the silver she manipulates is pure. At a young age she learned the value of money when her family agreed to marry her off to the son of a wealthy family in Tokyo in exchange for a healthy dowry when she was about the age of four. This resulted in the young girl never again seeing the bloodline she came from to date and her earliest memories are of playing with silver with her mother, whos face she can't quite recall, and being picked up in a shiny SUV with tinted windows. She of course knows she could find them with little effort now, not that she felt the desire. The family she married into was a ticket into a cushy lifestyle, her new family took care of her every need, and all she had to do to keep the good times going was to use the blessing of her bloodline at their bidding.
They had her strip pure silver from jewelry they procured through various means, that at the time her young mind hadn't thought to question. Her mother-in-law to be insisted she simply had a habit of antiquing, a idea that satisfied any lingering curiosity the young Akane would have for a long time. It wasn't until she reached the age of twelve that she learned that the activities of her family were less than legal, and in fact were working a local crime ring that laundered money and fenced stolen jewelry from tourists. She learned this after it became clear that she wasn't the bride to be that the family had thought she'd be. They wanted a nice docile and easy to maintain Beta for their son and business, but instead it turns out she was not only an Alpha, but she hit an early growth spurt, significantly outgrowing their son in rapid fashion. Not the look they were wanting. They sat her down and explained that while the marriage was no longer happening, she was still a 'welcome' addition to the family. After this she was expected to pull her own weight with the new family business. Rather than becoming the princess waited on hand and foot, she rapidly had expectations and 'responsibilities' thrust upon her, and with that she began doing things on her own. Doing things on her own lead to her making friends in both high and low places.
By the time she reached the age of 16 she'd grown accustomed to new role as a fence, a role that allowed her to mingle with the community and make a name for herself. Being able to make the Bolivian methods of silverwork look like a child's first art project was helpful to manipulate those with a weakness for all things that sparkle and shine. But the thing about being a fence, was that someone, somewhere was always going to be willing to pay for ill gotten goods, and staying competitive in that market could easily become untenable without a monopoly and as much as she loved her some silver, dealing in other goods was more difficult, time consuming and over all was a pain in her ass. She needed something else to secure herself a much more lucrative market. That's when she found out that secrets were a valuable commodity to trade in, and fashioned herself a good network of informants ranging from the unaware to flat out rats. Hidden messages, cyphers, exchanges and rumor mills became her trade. One of her favorite ways to handle information drops was to simply sell a piece of jewelry to a client with engravings along the insides at exuberant prices.
Moving ahead to the current day, she's carved out a spot in the criminal underworld for herself and gilded it with silver. Her network is rooted deep now and attempts at dislodging her have failed miserably and a couple of times spectacularly. There's hardly a soul in the whole of Japan that can evade her gaze, and even fewer who can do it for long. Only she knows how many secrets she's privy to, and she's become adept at finding any she's been hired to find. A saying she's come to coin as of late is "A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept. A person with no secrets is may be free, but a person who holds another's secrets is a king."
