Haley couldn't argue with Dusan's statement about how people flirt differently. If anyone could call how most Alphas flirt with their intentions being obvious in how their approach is always aggressive. They were usually the ones with oversized egos who felt the need to prove themselves in front of others by being demeaning and telling Omegas and Betas to submit and obey them. Haley knew not all Alphas were like that nor were many of them from well-off families. But they just couldn't let go of their pride as an Alpha because that ideal was instilled into their minds while growing up. To Haley, Dusan was arrogant but not in the same way as he was better than everyone around him. He took pride in his own accomplishments and feats. Sure, it was no harm for one to be proud of themselves but even then, it can still come across as arrogant. Overall, she just didn't have a response to what he said. She simply stood there listening.

He'd eventually turned his back to her which caused the woman to believe that her silence may have bothered him. This was confirmed to not be the case when he pulled out the chair from the table he had in his room and he'd sat in it where he was completely facing her. His eyes were completely on her which began to make Haley feel a bit uneasy. Not in the sense that she was afraid of him but maybe her questioning why he was constantly flirting with her or even asking him to respectfully inform her if he had a guest over so she could plan to go someplace else to avoid disturbing him was probably going too far. In her mind, it made sense to be respectful to one's roommates when it came to having company over. If you're sharing a space with another person, the least one could do was inform them in advance you'll have someone come over.

She wasn't sure if that was something that seemed foreign in Japan or not. She was still getting used to the culture and hell even she made mistakes when speaking the language at times. She'd gotten better but at least with Dusan, the two of them could easily have a conversation in English so it was nice not struggling to speak with him in Japanese. Her many assumptions were thwarted by what Dusan said to her next, confirming that he was not upset or offended by what she said. No, he openly admitted to her that he flirted with her because he finds her to be attractive! Haley's eyes went wide in surprise and shock as she stood there staring at him in disbelief. While she believed him to just be teasing her for his own amusement, in actuality, he was doing that because he had a genuine interest in her. "I-I I'm sorry what?"

Haley had no idea of how to respond. This was the first time any man, regardless of who they were, said anything like that openly to her. Most of the time, she was relegated to the background which she became content with the older she became. Sure, the idea of finding a mate sounded very nice to her but it wasn't something she put focus on. That doesn't mean she hadn't wanted it. She does. Haley had always desired for someone to love her genuinely and it didn't feel as if it was some sort of joke. It was why when he said what he did in the kitchen, she wrote it off the way she did. Now hearing that he was actually serious made her feel like an idiot. 'Dammit, why did I say what I did earlier? And how can he still like me even after what I said?' she mentally swore to herself, feeling guilty.

"I'm ... sorry ... for earlier today..." Haley apologized to Dusan, the expression on her face softening as she sheepishly rubbed the side of her arm up and down in embarrassment. She was apologizing for writing him off. She wasn't apologizing that she couldn't accept or return his feelings. She wasn't really sure what to feel about Dusan. Not once has she denied him being attractive but she didn't want it to be based on the feeling of lust. Unfortunately, he showed no shame in admitting to enjoying physical intimacy even if it wasn't all the time. That could've been something he kept to himself but Haley couldn't fault him for being honest. More honest than most these days. What shook her out of her thoughts is when he'd gotten up from his chair and made his way to her. Now in close proximity where he towered over her while his hand was caressing the side of her face.

She stiffened due to not expecting this from him. His warm touch suddenly made her body feel the same warmth all over. The color on her face darkened and her heart began beating fast because of the closeness. Her back was now pressed against the wall. She couldn't hide her embarrassed expression nor could she ignore Dusan's honest feelings and what he thought of her as a person. All of this was too much. The only thing that made this easier was he wasn't expecting a response. Yet, she found herself unable to move away from him as she continued to stand there. "D-Dusan..." Haley whispered breathlessly.

"No problem. We can hang out outside of the inn," Kuri told the blonde. She had no problem hanging out with Rebecca outside of the inn. She knew of a few places they could go and enjoy. Just to have some fun and relax. She knew the blonde's schedule would be different from her own but as long as they communicated with one another to see when they were available, the brunette saw no worries. All the same, she was happy to have been able to help Rebecca a little bit. Kuri felt like it wasn't much but she knew for Rebecca, it was the opposite. She appreciated how grateful she was.

Rebecca then took her leave, standing outside in the hallway to bid her farewell before returning to her own room. "Oyasumi nasai, Rebecca-san," Kuri said, seeing her off before closing the door. It was then she stretched her arms above her head and then headed to the kitchen to clean everything up, putting all the materials she used back into her room. It was then she remembered that she remembered she ordered a meal from the kitchen downstairs and quickly wasted no time in slipping on a pair of shoes, grabbed her phone, and dotted quickly out of her room. "Craaaaap! I totally forgot!" she exclaimed as she hurriedly took the stairs to head to the breakfast area of the lobby where she hoped that at least someone from the kitchen crew was still down there.

She hadn't meant to forget. She was just focused on helping Rebecca out. She'd really hoped that everything she did would help to ease the blonde's worries and troubles with her hair and face. Self-care was important after all. But now, all Kuri was focused on was getting the food she ordered and getting back to her room to finish up her homework and enjoy the rest of her night. Her sister was clearly working late so she'll more than likely be asleep by the time she came in. Kuri made a mental note to text her sister to make sure she was alright but she wasn't going to overreact with worry. After all, she knew her sister could take care of herself and she'll see her in the morning for a bit and ask how work was before heading to school. So things would be fine. She know her sister would be surprised to hear that Rebecca came over to visit but she knew to hold onto that information until tomorrow.

A vein appear on her right temple to show her annoyance at Dusan's question about wanting her in his room. She really wished he'd stop teasing her. It was hard to tell if he was being serious or not. She wasn't interested in a fling with any random guy to satisfy his needs only for him to leave as soon as he'd gotten what he wanted from her. Haley clearly wasn't interested in a fling with anyone or actively searching for a partner. As nice as the idea sounded, it was also too complicated to even bother with. It made the raven-haired woman thankful she presented as a Beta. It meant she didn't have to actively engage in intimacy just to satisfy a forced biological and sexual nature. However, she did feel bad for those that felt like they were forced to. It's why she focused her life and time on what she wanted to pursue rather than focus on who to have in her bed.

However, she has come across many people who often had that on their minds ALL the time. She couldn't do anything about that but that hadn't meant she didn't find it the least bit annoying or disgusting in some cases depending on how a conversation was going. Never had anyone ever flirted with her let alone teased her in the manner Dusan was. As annoyed as she was by it, she already had a headache she was trying to tend to and hadn't wanted to make it worse by arguing with him. Clearly, she would say no despite her mentally admitting he is an attractive man. Has nothing to do with him being an Alpha. Any woman would be attracted to him. She would say any man but it was clear he wasn't into them as it's not uncommon for male Omegas to try and trap male Alphas. But it's not as if female Omegas weren't doing it too so there is that to acknowledge as well. But Haley didn't understand why he was openly flirting with her. Outside of the obvious he just wanted to sleep with her, she got it but she wasn't willing to bite.

She had too much pride to entrap herself in intimate situations with people. Though Haley couldn't deny that his scent was starting to affect her. She was doing her best to ignore it. Play it off as if it wasn't. Although he clarified that he didn't find a need for sex, which was surprising to hear, she had her doubts all things considering as he was very open with teasing her any chance he'd gotten. 'I should probably just ask. It'll solve this entire thing,' Haley thought with a small sigh. All she could do is ask to see if Dusan would give her a straight answer. At least to avoid any future arguments. Haley didn't like confrontation and actively avoided it as much as she could. If there wasn't a need to argue, she'd at least try to mediate things by just asking questions flat out in hopes the person would answer her honestly without still trying to bait her into an argument. "There a reason you keep flirting with me?" she asked, her brow raised.

"I'd get it if it was just you want a quick romp or something but as I've mentioned before, I'm not into that. If I do that with anyone, I'd prefer it to be a serious relationship with the prospect of planning a future. If that's not what you want then respectfully, I will decline you each time you suggest the offer of joining you in your bed." She wasn't mocking him when she said it. She was only stating what she felt. Haley wasn't sure what type of future Dusan had planned for himself but if he did want a serious relationship with anyone, that was fine, but she didn't like the idea of being led on to think she was even remotely attractive to anyone or that they'd want to plan a future with her. 'It's a nice thought but I'm fine. We're a little similar in that regard I suppose. No need for sex. Well, I suppose he has a need for it occasionally. He is a man after all but I personally never thought much about it for myself. Maybe that makes me strange. I dunno...' Haley has thought of herself as strange and never really questioned it ... until now ...

The waiter wrote down Nikolas' choice of drink with his order, then bowed to them both before stating their order will be prepared soon and brought to them. Feodora thanked the waiter before he left. Now her attention was on Nikolas who'd taken her offer to join her and sat across from her. Apparently, he thought he was intruding on her lunch but she shook her head to assure him that he wasn't. "You're not actually. I was eating alone, to be honest. It was my day off from working and I didn't want to spend it inside my room at the inn. But then I realized I don't do much outside of work. If one wants to count watching romantic movies as something to do, they could but as of late, such movies are becoming very predictable and boring," she said with a small laugh.

Feodora was a sucker for watching romance movies but if they weren't old movies, she was hardly interested. Anything new just made the plot very obvious and she got bored fairly quickly. Plus, it's not something she wanted to have a conversation about either. Yes, the idea of falling in love sounds nice but part of her had accepted that at her age and presenting as a Beta, she wasn't on the list of potential partners. It sucks but it was true. She didn't let it stress her out and just decided to focus on working full-time and teaching in her part-time. As of late, the thoughts of seeking a partner had begun to cloud her mind and she wasn't sure why that was. No one, in particular, had caught her attention so she found it a little confusing. Of course, she didn't have anyone to talk to about that and such discussions usually went in a rather uncomfortable direction with a lot of people.

They just couldn't keep it clean. She certainly couldn't talk to Nikolas about this. They were briefly acquainted and hadn't run into each other all that much since that day. She also hadn't wanted to scare anyone off with that topic anyway. Despite Nikolas' rugged outlook, he didn't appear untrustworthy. Most Japanese natives would take one look at him and be instantly put off but what he was wearing right now. But Feodora wasn't one. Her clothes weren't anything to fuss about. She just wore a pair of jean shorts and a light-blue and white T-shirt. It was warm outside today so she was just trying to go comfortable. She figured Nikolas was doing the same. He was still concerned for her, just like when they first met. Thanking her for not minding his broken Japanese. She chuckled again.

"I told you it's fine. As someone who teaches Japanese to struggling foreigners, I've gotten quite good at speaking English. I wouldn't harp on you for speaking broken Japanese. I don't mind speaking in English which is why I switched to it to speak to you." Having learned how to speak English at a young age herself, she was efficient at speaking it and can switch between it and Japanese easily without it sounding as if she was struggling to do so. Plus, growing up in her family, learning multiple languages was sort of a necessity if in the event any of them decided to work in the family business. Feodora had no plans to but she wasn't against learning a new language if it allowed her to communicate better with other people who visit Japan. So, Nikolas was no different. "I can understand you just fine, despite your accent. Fully aware that a lot of American foreigners have different accents depending on the state they grew up in where it's most common. So, no need to worry," Feodora assured him.

Feodora had finally decided on what she was going to order. Since it was the lunch hour for the cafe, she'd raised her hand politely to get a waiter or waitress' attention. One was nearby and approached the woman, giving a polite bow as they asked what would she like to order. She greeted them warmly and proceeded to order a classic beef bacon sandwich on toasted wheat bread. The waiter wrote down her order while proceeding to ask if there was anything else she would like to add. Before answering, Feodora heard her name being called out which caused her attention to briefly look from the waiter to the familiar face of a resident that lived at the Amestia Inn where she worked.

The same man she'd bumped into last year but on total accident when she was trying to straighten up the supply closet and almost hurt herself in the process of doing so. Although her guard was up during that time because she wasn't sure if he would turn around and get upset with what happened, the man seemed genuinely kind and was more concerned for her than himself. Which surprised her but she was also thankful he wasn't an aggressive and angry person. Nikolas. That was his name. His Japanese was still very rusty as she'd remembered he tried to speak to her in the language despite not being native to the country. At least he was trying but as she did with anyone who wasn't used to speaking the language fully, she wouldn't force them to speak it.

Not that she would grow frustrated but rather the latter usually happens because said foreigners would get upset with themselves for constantly messing up what they were saying. Her smile remained as she raised her hand up slightly to wait at him then she shifted her gaze back to the waiter and said, "Make that an order for two, please. And add a raspberry tea with mine." The waiter wrote down the order as requested before turning his head to Nikolas to as him if he would like a drink to go with the additional beef bacon sandwich on toasted wheat bread for him and if he didn't want wheat bread, he made sure to ask if he had a specific preference for bread he wanted. Feodora chuckled sheepishly. "S-Sorry to put you on the spot. I wasn't expecting to see anyone I knew here," she told him.

"I'm doing fine but please join me for lunch. It's no fun eating alone as I've just learned. And we can speak in English if you'd like." She made sure that she was speaking entirely in English when she spoke to him. To let him know that she wasn't going to force him by any means to speak in Japanese. It wouldn't be much of a conversation if he was struggling to speak to her the entire time. She also hoped he was okay with ordering the same thing for him. Feodora couldn't help herself as she often thought of others before she thought of herself. Plus, at least she wouldn't spend her time alone bored out of her mind. At that moment, she couldn't help but think that her stepmother was right in saying she didn't do much in the way of fun. A comment she never expected to hear from someone who cared about appearances and social class over anything fun. 'Well, it's a good time as any to start trying to start socializing more,' she thought.

Turquoise eyes gazed at the menu of the Melody Cafe. There were so many choices to choose from when it came to tea, coffee, and cakes. Well, as side treats. They did have actual food on the menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Feodora had a day off from work and since she didn't get to treat herself often because she was always working or having to help her family, specifically her brother Yuuto, her time was almost never free. She was sitting at an empty table alone as she continued to decide on what she wanted. If she had to say this, it did feel a bit lonely not having someone to talk to.

She knew Yuuto was busy with work and wanted to help his friend Shouta. Feodora offered her help but didn't want to interfere too much since those two needed to work out their unresolved issues themselves. She couldn't fix everything. Naji and Tatsuya were a different story. Naji's been rather distant still but taking care of himself and living his life how he chooses which she was happy for him. Tatsuya ... was a lost cause. He was only using their family's resources for his own personal gain and among other things. Even when she chastised him, he still wouldn't listen to her. Then there was her father and that woman that's her stepmother now. Feodora cared about her family but it is stressful trying to make sure things didn't turn to hell when she wasn't around.

It was worse when she was around and she had to interact with that woman. Feodora was always asked when she was going to find a mate and settled down. That question irritated her. She knew why she was being asked that question all the time. That woman and her father were going to judge who she was with regardless of who it was. Even though she didn't live with them and had her own life, in some ways it felt like both of them were trying to control it. She sighed, shaking her head as she tried to push the thoughts out of her head. She was here to relax on her day off. She can't do that if her mind was wandering. Her eyes continued scanning the menu in her hands, having trouble deciding on what to get because her mind was now troubled.

"Yeah, this isn't much of a distraction," Feodora mumbled, her eyes looking up from the menu to glance around the cafe at everyone else at their tables. The cafe wasn't packed like it usually was but it was still pretty busy. There were students in groups that sat together and ordered ice cream, fruit tarts, or cakes. Other customers ordered either tea or coffee. The place was never shy on the smell of freshly prepared coffee every day. "Oh yeah, I should probably eat some lunch," she said, her eyes going back to the menu in her hands. As much as the sweets looked so tempting, they wouldn't be filling and all she'd feel is hungry again.

'Oh, that again. Of course, he brings that up. Good thing I decided to pop the aspirin,' Haley thought as she shifted her gaze to look at Dusan only to narrow her eyes. She wasn't angry but he seems to be mixing up what she believes with something else involving people wanting to keep their secrets and reporting the truth about something when it is warranted. The two things are connected but they shouldn't be treated like a double negative. She sighed, she wasn't in the mood to go in another circle with him again. It'll just turn into what happened earlier. Why engage and make her own headache worse?

"You can feel how you want about that and that's all I'm going to say," Haley replied simply. She didn't press further and wanted to move on from the overall topic. Thankfully he had and proceeded to answer her question in a very Alpha-like manner but Haley knew that he wasn't wrong. This technically was his place and he could take control whenever he wanted to regarding her place here. If he wanted to kick her out, he could do it without a moment's notice. So she was willing to respect his space and rules regarding her living arrangements. He didn't need to add he had attractive women in his room. That was a detail Haley felt he could've kept to himself. But the information was now planted. She chose not to comment on it. She had no room to speak on how their living together should go outside of what she wasn't going to tolerate.

But if the two of them kept the peace, then she had no reason to complain. She did want to establish one warning though. As it was his place and she didn't want to walk in on very uncompromising situations. His gaze on her was very strong and though she still felt uneasy, she did her best to keep her nerves calm. "I respect that but I personally just want to respect your space, which includes your room. I don't want to freely walk in here and you could be doing something important," she told him, but then added, "I also have to ask if you do have any women come over is to inform me in advance so I can go elsewhere for awhile. I get it. People need to take care of their needs so if you 'need' to do that, I will leave you to do so and go out for a while. You were originally living alone so I don't want to impose on what you do during your 'private' time."

It's not as if she had any right to tell him not to be intimate with anyone. That wasn't her business. She just didn't want to come in one day and that is going on. Being aware ahead of time, Haley felt that would be helpful. During the time she spent in her car, she did find some places that were open 24 hours. So it's not as if she had to figure out where she could go. She already knew so there was no issue there. At least, it shouldn't be but she wanted to make sure that Dusan was at least fine with that. It's not as if it was an unreasonable request.

"E-Eh!? N-No, no, no! That's not it! I-" Haley's face was now entirely red as Dusan had given Haley permission to enter his room any time. Which wasn't the problem. The problem was that he'd assumed she'd thought his scent was unpleasant. She didn't know how to explain or clarify that it wasn't the case. It was just powerful to her. She's been around Alphas before but not once had she ever been affected by their scents to the point her head would either hurt or make her heart beat fast. She could ignore his joking of preferring to tough out the pain and not take aspirin. Plenty of people didn't favor taking it or couldn't take it for various reasons. She couldn't argue with him on that. Again, she just made a mental note for herself to keep some on hand just in case he changes his mind.

But his scent, she wasn't bothered by his scent. It only affected her in a way she didn't expect it to. She felt nervous and uneasy being around him. That's how Dusan's scent made her feel. It also didn't help when he would have his moments of teasing her which she didn't find to be amusing at all. But she didn't want him to get the wrong idea and assume the worst. People were so quick to do that and did not allow someone to explain themselves. Haley just wasn't sure how to do so that wouldn't make sense. But she tried. Clearing her throat as she shifted her gaze to look away from him. Her face was stained red. "Your scent isn't unpleasant. I'm just ... not used to it," she told him, once he'd finished what he'd said.

She then added, "Other than finding you strange and confusing at times, I don't see you as someone big on keeping secrets unless you had to for reasons you felt I didn't need to know. Which is fine. I understand people keeping certain things to themselves." Haley had no issues with Dusan being private. It was his place after all. She was given the opportunity to live here and she'd taken it gladly because it was better than living in her car. And she already made it clear first hand she was leaving if any changes were made in his personal life. The raven-haired woman didn't want to be involved in any sort of drama. Haley wasn't a confrontational person and tried to avoid such situations at all costs. But while she lived here, she was going to respect Dusan's privacy and living space.

However, she did notice he was all too eager at the idea of her coming into his room. She didn't understand why he was so comfortable with the idea of that and couldn't help but mention it. "I do have to ask you something. Why are you so comfortable with the idea of me coming into your room?" Haley wanted a straight answer. She wasn't sure if it would be something that wouldn't make her head hurt worse but while she waited for his answer, she opened the bottle of aspirin, got two pills out of it, and popped them both, swallowing them dry. Might as well be prepared. She hoped his answer to her question would be rather normal and very innocent.

Haley blinked in surprise at this. She expected him to see her holding a cup with ice in it to her head to be strange yet he didn't. Instead, he told her he had aspirin in his bathroom cabinet and to follow him. She wasn't sure if she should since it felt like she would invade his personal space. Technically, she already was by living here even though he was the one who extended the offer to her. Given what happened earlier, it showed it didn't take long for them to end up in an argument over a disagreement of opinions. She did appreciate that he wasn't bringing it up right now. That said, she wasn't going to turn down the offer of aspirin. It was either suffer through the pain or take something to alleviate it. She was going for the latter.

Sitting the cup down on the counter, she quickly followed Dusan to his bedroom in silence. Going inside, she was ultimately hit with his entire scent covering his room, making her face become red and immediately she used her hand to cover her nose and mouth. It was his bedroom so of course it would be obvious his scent would cover the entire space of it. But that wasn't the issue that Haley was having. She was wondering why she was slightly affected by it. After all these years of being around Alphas, not once had she reacted in the fashion of feeling as if she should keep herself from inhaling the scent of an Alpha. Similar to other Betas and even Omegas, the dark-haired woman was just never bothered. Rather it's possible she just simply never paid attention enough to put focus on it.

'But his scent is just ... really strong ... Why is it bothering me so much that I suddenly feel flustered? He's not even releasing his scent right now it's just ... his room smells like him ...' Haley tried to keep her composure but her heart couldn't help but pound, almost as if the sound could be echoed in her ears. Outside of his scent engulfing the entire room, the room itself was fairly normal and clean. Much like the rest of the place which didn't give her much to do outside of cooking something. He didn't seem to be the type that wouldn't keep his place clean so with that, Haley wasn't surprised. However, his scent had begun to make her head hurt a little. As he went into his bathroom, she remained outside of it, perching herself by the door while she waited. She was trying to calm her heart in the meantime.

Thankfully, he came out with the aspirin. She lowered her hand from her face and proceeded to hand her that bottle. Of course, she was also told she could keep it. "A-Are you sure? You never know what might happen later..." She wasn't saying that anything would happen but on the off chance that something did and he got himself hurt to where he needed aspirin to dull his pain, she didn't want him forgetting he gave it to her. Haley would have to make sure to keep aspirin on hand. Whether Dusan used it or not, was his choice. Haley wanted to be sure. Strange circumstances always happen when they least expect it.

Haley had closed her eyes and allowed the coolness from the cup filled with cold ice water. It was soothing her headache at most but it wasn't making it go away completely. Only calming it down. 'I'll have to go out and buy some aspirin tomorrow,' she thought, sighing softly. The place was silent outside of the sounds of maybe a clock making noise or the occasional sounds from outside but it wasn't overbearing. The silence was suddenly broken by Dusan speaking, startling Haley a bit that she almost dropped the cup out of her hand but luckily she quickly caught it with both hands while holding it close to her chest.

Her eyes opened, seeing Dusan standing there as if it wasn't odd at all to just appear and not make any sort of sound. She'd been startled to the point her heart began beating fast which was going to take a minute for that to calm down. She knew it. Haley was surprised he inquired about her headache and if she needed anything for it. She half expected him to still be upset with her for earlier, not talk to her at all. Yet here he was, showing concern for her. Or the closest thing to being concerned. It's not as if she could tell if he was truly genuine since he was a hard man to read. Overall, she didn't want to bring up the issue from earlier. She wanted to move on from it and hoped he would be willing to do the same and not throw it back in her face later. Like a certain rival of hers would to where she'd never hear the end of it.

"O-Oh, yeah. A small headache. I forgot to buy aspirin and couldn't find any so what I was doing was the closest thing to soothing it. I know, it looks strange," Haley admitted. She knew her habits would be odd to the average Japanese native or someone who grew up in the country to be used to it and not to the cultural habits of others but to her, it wasn't strange at all. But she was fully aware she would get stares from passerbyers because her actions were odd to them. Haley wasn't sure if Dusan thought that way but she was willing to openly admit to him that what she was doing wasn't the normal thing to do but he wasn't childish enough to poke fun at her for it. Thankfully.

Haley had stayed in her room for the remainder of most of the day. The sun finally started to set, indicating that it would soon be dark. While still annoyed from earlier, she'd eventually taken a nap when she'd finally forced her mind to stop processing everything that'd happened between her and Dusan earlier today. When she woke up, she was met with a mild headache which made her wince and gently rub her temple with her index finger in an attempt to soothe it. She was supposed to do the finishing touches to her report but it would seem she was going to be pulling an all-nighter doing that given she'd taken a nap and would fully awake the rest of the night.

She couldn't complain. Despite the headache, she didn't feel as tired but if she didn't tend to it, she'd probably start to feel the effects of it. Haley also wasn't sure if Dusan was still awake or if he'd gone out. After earlier, she didn't think he'd have anything to say to her. She was hardly upset anymore. If anything, she really disliked it when others pushed so heavily for her to change her opinions and feelings on something and view it from their perspective. That all sounds simple, but oftentimes, the perspective of others is usually so drastic and extreme. Of course, she wouldn't agree with it. Getting mad that she continues to disagree is just stupid. She's fine with people having opinions and views that differ from her own. It's another when it starts to feel like she has to change what she thinks and if she doesn't she's "naive" or in some cases called "stupid" by some.

But their disagreement was really about her not responding to his compliments. How could she? She couldn't tell if he was serious or joking with her. Anyone would rationally respond in a way where they would write off what the other person is saying. There wasn't a reason given to believe he meant what he said so Haley didn't take it seriously and responded like she would with anyone else. It never always worked out in her favor. This wasn't any different. She was always met with the other person being upset with her for how she responded. Many usually wouldn't talk to her anymore because of it. She was sure Dusan would be the same way.

With a sigh, Haley didn't fight it. She pushed herself off the bed to stand. She was still wearing her nightwear from earlier and having realized that she looked through her clothes for something more casual and comfortable to wear. Plus, there was the fact that Dusan's scent was still on her clothes. Compared to earlier, it's faint but definitely still there. The last thing she wanted was to give the wrong impression. Though after their conversation, it would seem it was too late for that. She could only hope he didn't kick her out. She said she would do her part if she stayed here by cleaning, cooking if she had the time and energy for it, and staying out of his way. He agreed to it so it shouldn't still be a problem ... right ...?

Shaking her head, she pulled out a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt to put on. Once she'd finished changing, she exited her room and headed out to see if she could find some aspirin to take care of her headache. While the most common place was the bathroom medicine cabinet, she haven't had time to buy anything to fill the one she was using in her room. She only put in the personal belongings she already had on her. Aspirin wasn't one of these things. She usually just dealt with it but she really didn't want to be bogged down with a headache that'll get worse if she does nothing about it. The second option was the kitchen cabinets. Normally an American thing, sometimes people would have a cabinet space set for just medications and other medicines for various medical issues. 'All I need is some aspirin. Surely he has some,' Haley thought as she went into the kitchen and proceeded to search the cabinets for aspirin.

She wasn't sure what Dusan was doing at this very moment but she was going to keep her distance to avoid another argument. She wasn't in the mood for arguing. She didn't want to fight at all. She just ... didn't like it when people jokingly compliment her by saying the things he did and that means she's automatically supposed to be grateful for it. Grateful for what? Being told she's pretty and attractive? Hell, she barely saw herself as such. How was she to believe it when anyone else says it? Her thoughts were wandering again which was making her headache worse. She tried to be as quiet as she could while searching the cabinets but so far all she found was cookware, plates, bowls, and cups as well as spices and other ingredients for cooking.

Haley sighed again as she gave up and just decided to grab an empty cup from the cabinet then proceeded to fill it with ice cubes from the freezer and filled it with water. She went with the old-fashioned trick of placing said cup against her forehead and using the coolness from it to soothe her headache instead. It seemed to do the trick as she sighed in relief as she rested her back against the counter. 'I'm thinking too much. The whole thing was dumb anyway. Being angry is draining. But thinking about it is moreso,' she thought as she shook her head from side to side. 'I wonder if he at least enjoyed the food I made earlier ...' Out of everything, a part of her had strangely wanted Dusan to have enjoyed the food she'd made. It's been a while since she'd cooked a proper meal for herself, much less anyone else. She hoped he'd liked it.
