Personality:

Basil is friendly to a fault, always talkative and excitable rather easily. Shes an extrovert, with no issue striking up conversations with strangers or customers. She always has a smile on her face no matter the situation- despite the fact that she appears constantly tired. The pizza driver is rather easy going, willing to roll with whatever punches or obstacles come her way. Albeit her determination does have its limit as she does know when she’s beat in a situation. That being said, she’s rather reckless- saying what’s on her mind without much of a thought of the consequences. Doing whatever without a concern for her own safety. This trait of hers gets even worse when paired with her own curiosity. Curiosity killed the cat, it’s probably gonna kill her too. She loves exploring new places- sometimes those places being safe or not, she doesn’t actually think too much when exploring around. She doesn’t fear spooky abandoned buildings or creepy forests, normally exploring them without a care- even if they’re private property. Her dream is to leave Japan and travel the world- albeit, with the meager savings she’s getting from her pizza delivery job. It’s gonna take alot longer then she hoped. But that doesn’t deter her! She’s very goal oriented, determined to get enough money to leave. She never strays too far away when she has a job- though her curiosity may be tempting, she knows it can be saved for after the pizza is delivered.

Appearance: She’s around 5’6, normally found wearing the uniform for dominos- that being a black and blue shirt along with a hat that has the company’s logo on it. She wears grey cargo pants and non-slip shoes along with it. When she’s not working, she’s seen with the outfit in the photo.

 


History:

Basil was born to a pair of betas- unremarkable people; her mother was an American school teacher who had moved to Japan to find something new, while her father was a Japanese office worker who wanted to settle down. She herself was born in Japan as an only child, acquiring her father’s last name while her mother got the choice of her first name- which is why it’s not exactly a normal name in Japan. Her childhood was unremarkable, her family had a stable income that fitted a middle class family so they got by quite aright. Her parents were loving to her and still made sure to spend time with her despite their jobs sometimes getting busy. Finally, she didn’t experience anything too traumatic during her youth. But, the one important thing about her childhood is because her family was Japanese-American, it meant she had family both in Japan and America. During the holidays, her family would stay in Japan for one year then go back to America to visit her mother’s side of the family- Basil was always excitable whenever she got to go visit either side of her family; she always considered it a new adventure. And going on airplanes was her favorite part- she always loved looking down on the world and wondering about the places they flew over. This was what kicked off her main motivation; wanting to travel- somewhere besides the place she was born.

As she got older, she knew rather quickly what her secondary gender would be- beta, which she was completely fine about. She didn’t expect anything else. Her schooling years were fine, simply average as she didn’t get the best grades nor did she particularly do well in sports. But neither of it was too bad- she was just regular about it. Although, the one real takeaway from these years was that she managed to get a whole bunch of friends— that she did ultimately lose contact with once she graduated high school. Basil didn’t peruse any higher education, simply glad to have gotten done with it. Once she was out of high school, she got up saving to move away from Japan- taking a pizza delivery job as it seemed like one of the simplest options. Of course— it was taking far longer than she expected, once she was 19 she moved away from her parent’s place (at their own nagging) to get herself a small apartment. Which put another dent in her plans. To this day she is still working in an attempt to save up for her plans- delivering everywhere across Japan.

It's also fine that you're in college as well just post when you can and try to hit up the activity checks to keep us updated in case you get super busy. That's pretty much all we ask of everyone. And maneuvering around the forum is easy but if you're still not sure, we do have a forum navigation channel in the server that gives an explanation on how to find everything. And no worries, we aren't AI generated lol. The closest thing to AI that may be used here is images generators if players can't find a face claim they truly like of what they're visually going for, but outside of that, everything else is all us. Interesting to see this character here at EL. There are some issues with the bio that need to be corrected, and once they are, the character will be approved. Also, I’d advise checking the bio of this character for VU as well and making corrections over there so it can be approved. Anyway, let us get started!

Age – Not an issue, but I figured since Hitoshi was new here as a character to this genre, he wouldn’t be the same age as he is on VU. But I don’t know what his history reads like yet, but when I do, I’ll probably revisit it there. I dunno. My brain just figured he’d be either 19 or 21. @_@ My brain is weird.

Quote – The quote underneath the banner for your character, while not missing, you hadn’t put anything there that your character would say, or lyrics, or a quote that reflects Hitoshi as a character. Wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

Powers/Abilities – This is missing from the bio as it is part of the character template, even if your character doesn’t have powers. It’s supposed to be between Hobbies and Personality. So make sure to add that there, and if you’re not planning on giving Hitoshi powers, just put N/A.

Scent – I’d suggest adding a second scent along with Cinnamon Roll, just in case someone comes in and wants Cinnamon Roll as a scent as well. Granted, they won’t be able to have it as a singular scent, but Cinnamon anything seems to be a pretty common one that people like to give their characters. I’d suggest the secondary scent either be something else that is sweet, or there are the options of fruit scents, spiced scents, and nutty scents. But yeah, you can keep Cinnamon Roll, but a secondary scent is needed.

History – There are issues with the history that are similar to the bio on VU for this character’s original bio, and corrections still need to be made to that one. But for this one, let’s first start off with there is no mention of Hitoshi’s parents and who they are outside of the throwaway line of religion, which feels like a strange read. I’d advise rewording that so it doesn’t make it seem like religion plays a bigger part in Hitoshi and his family, outside of it just being, as stated, a weird throwaway line. But yes, a little bit about Hitoshi’s family would be nice here. Who his parents are, how they met, their secondary genders, what they do, and if he has siblings. Despite the history having minimal information to where it implies he is an only child, but I don’t think that’s a question you want to be asked a lot outside of RP, if it can just be stated here, and players already know he has no siblings without having to ask you. It’ll just be their characters that don’t know the answer to this question.

Since this is a different universe, we do need to know if Hitoshi struggled with his secondary gender as he got older. If he did, how bad was it for him? It doesn’t seem like he physically went to school to be around other kids his age, based on how this reads, but if he did, please clarify that before the eventual transition to only doing his classes online and explaining why. If it ties into him presenting as an Omega, it would need to be in his history. His parents don’t seem like bad people, so I’d imagine they would help Hitoshi through his struggles with that, so adding a little bit of that in the history would help too. Which would tie into why they didn’t have internet in the beginning. That does need to be explained as to whether or not both parents couldn’t afford it until later, which would mean one, if not both of them, got promoted at their jobs to a higher position. So getting internet would be a luxury. It could be that Hitoshi really wanted to do schooling from home but had to endure physically attending school until either one or both of them got promoted to afford it. And the reason could be that he presents as an Omega, and it is a struggle for his body to adjust to it. It'd be helpful to know how Hitoshi feels about presenting as an Omega. If it doesn’t bother him much, cool, he adjusted well enough to move on and live his life; if not, and still has occasional struggles, that information needs to be here.

As long as being an Omega doesn’t affect him too heavily, there isn’t too much detail needed for that, since he wouldn’t be a Dominant Omega, which would mean his symptoms would be a lot worse for him without the proper medication to keep them under control. And there isn’t any resentment there about being an Omega either. Some do have it and others don’t, based on how the history is written, but a lot of details are missing about Hitoshi, which is why I’m presenting the suggestions and questions to you to fill in those plot holes. There’s also no explanation of how Hitoshi got into his current hobbies and profession. That is definitely missing and needs to be there. It doesn’t need to read as if he always had his interests and hobbies. Something or someone had to have piqued Hitoshi’s interest in it, and it would explain how and why he stuck with it. Also, putting in the age range in which these situations and things happen to him would establish a better understanding of how things fell into place for Hitoshi. I did mention I’d bring Hitoshi’s age up after reading his history, and now that I have, I feel that at most he’d be between 19 to 21 based on how you ended it. It sounds as if things fell into place for him, maybe within a year and a half span after graduating high school, so he’d either be 18 going on 19 or 20 going on 21. Somewhere in that age range. Not struggling, but definitely still independent at least.

Nikolas Johnson sipped his coffee as he listened to Feodora as she explained the situation to him.  For a service provider to lose something as important as an oven could be devastating. Having worked as a Roadie in the past he had seen untold numbers of hotels, Inns, and public housing and if anything went wrong it could be the end of a successful business venture.  Leaning back in his chair he shut his eyes, not out of exhaustion but in deep thought as he took in the sights and sounds around him.  Gone was the rock star, gone was the resident of an Inn, here and now was the Roadie.  A man dedicated to service for a great show, not for himself but for others.  He could hear his late father's words to him as a young snot nosed kid now in his ears like an echo; "A good Roadie knows his job is too make others look good.  Its never about him, but the stars...if he does his job right you will never see him.  But once in awhile he is on stage fixing a problem....and just like that he vanishes"

Shooting his eyes open almost like a stalking predator Nikolas took in his surroundings quickly.  The lights were on and the heater was working full blast.  Whatever the issue was, it wasn't a power problem.  Feodora always ran a strict schedule including keeping utility bills up to date.  That meant whatever was wrong, the power wasn't reaching the oven to ignite a spark needed to get heat going for meals.  Either the oven needed to be replaced, which would be a big problem as he had no idea how expensive a new one would cost or when it could be installed; or it was a small problem that could be fixed with a tweak or too.  Either way he was looking at either a mountain or a moe hill as an old timer told him once.  But he wouldn't know until he saw it himself.  Looking at Feodora and the stress forming on her face ached him.

He hadn't felt this way about a woman in a long time.  Thus he set his coffee down in front of her too get her attention as he said, "Miss. Feodora,  would you mind if I took a look at the oven.  I will admit I'm not an oven designer or builder but if the issue is a small thing that can be fixed in less then an hour without calling a repair man or heaven forbid getting a new oven, I would be happy to help you for your friendship and hospitality. "
