Powers/Abilities: Healing Touch: Jake has the ability to heal whoever he touches. This ability is able to heal wounds, or even help in curing poisons. If it hasn't decayed at all, he could even used the ability to reattach severed limbs. He also has the ability to revive people, though it's quite risky based on how long the person had been dead for, and will cause extreme exhaustion and deactivate his ability for at least 48 hours.

Increased agility: as a neko he has generally increased agility and flexibility compared to others, also causing him to generally be lighter in weight than most people around his height.

Personality: Jake is often considered an introvert, as he hates being in the spotlight or having a lot of people's attention, it stresses him out a lot. He's generally shy around new people he meets, warming up to then over time or if the topic switches to something he really likes. While most of the time he is level-headed, he can become much more blunt if he's upset or sometimes just leaves the situation entirely, as he gets scared of making a scene. History: Jake comes from a relatively small family of nekos who have a hereditary ability to heal, although in most situations only one child of each generation posses the ability. The Reiki family, dating back to the Edo period, had a strangely persistent hereditary ability to heal. This strange phenomenon hadn't been recorded before, most hereditary abilities had a tendency to dilute over each generation due to the way genetics work, however this ability seemed to become more refined with each generation that it had gone through, albeit in small amounts, and there was no religion that that the ability seemed to be connected to that could explain it's origins, leaving it to be somewhat a mystery that was given up on over time.

In the current day, the Reiki family lives in moderate living conditions, the healing ability still strongly tied to them, however they've noticed more aspects about it, firstly, only one member of each generation of the family has the ability, secondly, the ability tends to affect the growth of the holder when used, which is part of the reason the family had only used it on occasion and didn't attempt to make profit or make a business out of it.

Jacob was the second oldest son in the current generation of the family, having an older brother who died less than a year after Jacob was born, as well as two little brothers when he was already 10 years old. When he was born, Jacob had a birthmark on his right shoulder in the shape of the symbol common on the holder of the healing ability. Although unlike his ancestors, Jacob didn't develop the ability at an early age, causing his family to believe that the ability had finally begun to die off.

Jake had a pretty normal childhood, although being a bit shy did cause him to not have many friends, he was fine with this though, he didn't want to stick out, he was perfectly content with being in the background and working on his own things. His life was going pretty well, he had a great relationship with his family, a couple close friends that he enjoyed hanging out with, along with an interest in both videogames and helping take care of animals, often trying to tend to any nearby, although not too helpful with his limited knowledge at the time. This was something his father helped with, helping to teach him about how to care for smaller animals.

Jake and his father were extremely close, this only made it more sad when his father eventually passed away to illness. After Jacob turned 13 years old, he finally developed his healing ability, however his reaction to it was mixed due to him still coping with his father's death, sometimes blaming himself for being such a late bloomer as he maybe could've helped his father if he developed it sooner. After about another year when he was 14, Jacob was mostly done coping with his father's death, he had started getting back on track with school and grades, taking better care of himself, along with him now being determined to become a doctor, focusing on school and getting himself into Kaibara University, hoping to get through college successfully.
