Name: Airi Aoyama

Alias: Boss Airi (Occupation Title), Airi Iwai (Former Legal Name)

Date of Birth: May 3rd, 1990

Age: 31

Primary Gender: Female

Secondary Gender: Omega

Character's Scent: Mocha

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Race: Japanese

Species: Human

Hobbies: Making coffee art, reading poetry, meditation, sketching with charcoal, calligraphy, bread making, journaling, swimming

Powers/Abilities: N/A

Personality: Airi is often silent so much so that people have mistaken her for being mute. She keeps to herself, and even her staff have little to no knowledge about what she does outside of Moondrip. Her mannerism is odd as even when confronted by angry people (or customers), she stares them down and doesn't flinch. If someone goes to touch her, she will defend herself and physically throw them out of her business. Underneath the peaceful persona lies a quiet rage only her elder brother Akimitsu has witnessed. Airi meditates to keep the anger down; fearing she'll follow in her parents and foster parent's footsteps.

Airi can be found reading English poetry finding it has more life in its words. Sometimes, she'll quote a few verses if caught after her lunch. She rarely laughs, but sometimes will Crack a smile. An excellent listener, by all means, she'll give advice or quote a poem often to her employee's frustrations when figuring out problems. She guides people with a gentle hand and will hug them if the situation calls for it. Her big blue eyes and wisdom have some of the university and high school students believe she can answer life questions.

Romance is not on Airi's mind. Witnessing the horrific events of her child practically killing the drive to find romantic partners let alone mates. Airi can become aroused as seen through her heat, but she's had no sexual interaction with another person. There are those who try to woo the young woman only to be met with a blank stare. Airi values her business over her partnership, and will not compensate it for feelings. If she does find someone to love then she does. If not, it wouldn't change anything.

Occupation: Owner of Moondrip Coffee Shop

School: N/A

Place of Living: Red Fountain Apartments > (Choose available apartment)

Original or Canon: Original

Face Claim: Touka Kirishima (Young Adult) | Tokyo Ghoul

History: Airi is the second child of the Iwai family. Her parents were warehouse workers and drunks often beating her and her elder brother Akimitsu for the simplest of actions. There was no such thing as a kid being a kid. Often time, Akimitsu took care of her and ensured she was fed even if it meant he went hungry. Airi doesn't recall her parents' faces and doesn't know if it was trauma or memory suppression that is the cause. At one point during her childhood, Airi and Akimitsu were taken away from their parents whom they never saw again. Later, it was assumed they died in a warehouse accident.

Akimitsu and Airi grew up in foster care where they bounced between families and cold homes. She was a quiet child who kept to herself, and didn't make a noise; she didn't want to attract attention from those who would slap her sideways. Akimitsu did what he could to protect her, but even he could only do so much. Both Omegas did what they could to keep the Alphas away using scent blockers, soaps, and going as far as stealing clothes Alphas used to keep their scents hidden. During one winter when it was particularly cold, a stranger handed Airi a warm cup of coffee with a feather in its cream. She doesn't remember the person's face, but that simple act changed Airi's life.

As Airi and Akimitsu continued to bounce between homes, she manages to find work in coffee shops learning whatever she could. Though her quiet personality didn't change much as she matured, she became educated on the coffee beans (trading, fair wages, economy), customer service, and eventually how to run the business. She would bring home or split her coffee with Akimitsu and talk about her day and what she had learned. Though the darkness in their lives was strong, the two remain a positive light to each other. Akimitsu managed to get jobs working for mechanic shops, and when the two aged out of foster care, they were able to get their own apartment. It was cheap, broken down, and often in need of repair, but it was home. They also legally changed their surnames to leave their dark past behind forever - Aoyama.

It wouldn't be until 2014 until she and Akimitsu parted ways to start their own lives. She moving into Red Fountain Apartments, and he elsewhere.

Airi opened Moondrip Coffee Shop in 2015 in the Southern District. She often delivers coffee to the hospital staff or library workers if one of her people is unable to do so. Over the years, she's developed a good working relationship with the organizations and businesses around Tokyo. Her calm persona and lack of a smile or laugh often turn people off, but she doesn't hesitate to help others or donate to a good cause. Since Moondrip's opening, Airi has managed to hire good employees with the occasional bad seed. They never last long, and she's quick to fire them. If she senses anything amiss she immediately takes action to remove the problem. Her belief is that chaos should be removed so peace can come.

Airi - From Japanese 愛 (ai) meaning "love, affection" combined with 莉 (ri) meaning "white jasmine" or 梨 (ri) meaning "pear".
