Room #49: Catching Up (Yuuto)
« on: March 14, 2022, 11:18:31 pm »
Feodora was cooking away in the kitchen of her room she had at the inn. Living on the property had its perks but also its downfalls as well. Some residents couldn't seem to handle their own issues or ask the employees on shift for assistance. No, some would come directly to her room for problems that could've been easily taken care of by someone else. That that she couldn't help but she was human too. She wanted to enjoy her days off. This is why she started putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign on her door. Unless it was someone she'd authorized to meet her at her room, no one outside of those people should be knocking on her door for anything.

Especially today since she was expecting to catch up with her brother Yuuto. Normally, she'd go to the mansion and try and cook a big meal for the family to sit down together and catch up with one another but the woman was noticing more and more how much of a struggle that was becoming. At least Neji was willing without feeling forced but everyone else clearly acted as if they didn't want to be there. It showed every time they saw one another. It saddened her because she tried so much for them to be close but it just never worked out. Their stepmother or "mother" as she calls herself would be so domineering and demanding, it only reminded Feodora of her father. She used to wonder what he saw in her to consider her a replacement mate but she stopped questioning it years ago. Instead, she just focused on herself and her brothers.

... When her brothers' would let her. She and Neji came to an understanding at least and while he promised to try and form something of a brotherly bond with Yuuto, she'd yet to see him do it. Tatsuya was a terrible human being and she was always chastising him for how he viewed and treated Omegas. More so whenever he'd bring them home. It was disgusting when he'd basically have his escapades in the house. It was one of many reasons why Feodora left. That and just she needed her own space. But she wasn't the only one that left the house. Yuuto had as well and it made it easier for the two of them to spend time with one another and catch up when they needed to without the interference of their parents telling them what they should and shouldn't do. They were adults, not children. When were they going to allow them to actually be adults? Hell Feodora herself was in her 30s. She refused to be treated as some child, parent or not. That's insulting and demeaning.

But she let it go. Considering that she was a Beta, she wouldn't be recognized for doing much of anything unless it brought shame to the family. She wasn't doing anything to maintain the family name. The work she did, getting to where she is, she did it for herself and on her own. And she was proud of herself for that. She'd be lying if she said she hadn't wanted her father to at least be proud of her for achieving something. As for her stepmother, she didn't care what that woman thought. She wasn't Feodora's mother and constantly just made her feel as if she was too old for some weird reason. She pushed that thought away, trying to avoid annoying herself as she took a moment to do a taste test on the food she was making. She'd prepared a Chorizo & mozzarella gnocchi bake. Something to have as leftovers for her work meals but also she wanted to share it with Yuuto as well since he was coming by to visit with her today. It was rare that he called her up to meet her at the inn. She would've been fine meeting him elsewhere if he wanted but he felt her room at the inn would be more private for them to talk.

'I wonder, what does he want to talk about? Did something happen recently?' Feodora wondered, as she placed the fork she'd used to taste the food to make sure it tasted perfect, down on a napkin on the counter. As she'd done this, she'd heard a knock at her door. She was only expecting her brother and hoped it was actually him at the door and not someone else. "Coming!" she quickly sprinted out of the kitchen to the door. Having reached the door, she opened it while flashing a big smile in greeting. "Hey, you made it!" she chimed happily.

Yuuto looks at himself one time over in the mirror.  He was going to visit with his sister, but he still wants to look presentable.  It has been some time since Yuuto has seen Feodora.  Usually, Feodora would cook a lovely meal for the family at the family home but that has been happening less and less.  Yuuto is pleased as the more time spent away from his family the better.  He growls remembering the last time he went to the house in search of Feodora but found Tatsuya intimidating Shouta.  Thank god, Sadie was there to protect him.

Yuuto is satisfied with the way he appears heading out his door.  He has so much on his mind.  He is hoping visiting Feodora will lift his spirits.  He has yet to return Shouta coat.  Lucky for him the weather hasn’t been freezing but he must return it at some point.  Yuuto completed the graphic design project for Shouta comic.  He needs to get it over to him.  Should he see him in person?  Send a simple text or email?  Yuuto has never had to think this hard about how to talk to someone.  He truly cares about what Shouta thinks.  The last words he said to Shouta was for him to leave his home.  He sighs because it sounded harsher than he intended.  He was losing to his inner alpha.  He almost smothered his body on top of Shouta wanting to be covered in Shouta scent.  Maybe even a soft touch of his flesh.  Lightly grazing his fingertips along his skin.  How would Shouta respond to him?  Soft purr or whine perhaps…..

He snarls turning his head almost getting aroused at the thought.  Shouta is his friend.  Those lines should not be crossed.  He is not just some omega.  Yuuto treats everyone with respect and Shouta is no different.  Some days he wonders how things would have been if his stepparents never interfered with his friendship.  At the same time, Yuuto knows he probably would have stayed under his stepparent's thumb a lot longer.  Everything that happened needed to happen.  At least he can always rely on Feodora at the end of the day.

Getting into his car he takes off towards the Inn.  Yuuto turns on some calming lofi music to ease him.  So much is changing and so fast it feels like. His birthday is approaching and fast.  For the first time, he thinks he wants to do something.  Just a nice intimate gathering.  He is unsure of who he would invite but he can worry about that later.  The main thing is for him to figure out how to navigate his friendship with Shouta.  One step forward and then two steps back it seems since they reconnected.

Yuuto arrives at the Inn getting parked.  He personally likes the Inn.  He doesn’t understand why it gets such a bad rep.  If someone needs to live on a budget this is the place to go to.  If not for his job, he knows he could have easily ended up living here.  He enters the building knowing where to go as this is not his first time.  Yuuto notices Feodora's hallway smells good.  Is that from her? He questions.  Hearing his stomach grumbles he hopes so.  Yuuto knocks on the door waiting for her to answer.  Feodora informs him she is coming.  He smiles to himself as she sounds so happy.  He must not wait so long to visit her.  The door flies open Yuuto being greeted with the widest grin he has seen from his sister in a while.

“Hey, you made it!” she exclaims happily.

“For you, of course, I did,” responds Yuuto.  He gives Feodora a quick hug before stepping into her home.  He slides his shoes off sniffing the air.  “You got the hallway smelling good by the way.  I’m lucky to be able to take part in this meal.”

"With it being my day off, I couldn't pass up cooking a proper meal for the both of us to enjoy! You're always so busy and not making time and it makes me feel sad that I don't get to see you very often," Feodora jokingly pouted. She was teasing of course. She fully understood how Yuuto was and respected his space. She was never one to force him to do something he didn't want to do. However, she'd be lying if she didn't feel that he should open up a little more. It seemed like he was when he was in junior high and then shut completely down soon after. Naturally, their parents had something to do with it but the young woman knew there just had to be more to why her brother shut down the way he did.

She smiled humbly at him, feeling thankful that he at the very least remained closed to her despite the dysfunctionality of their family. Placing her hand on her hips, she opened her door wider to allow her brother to enter. "Anyway, jokes aside, come on in. I was just letting the food cook a few minutes longer before turning it off," she informed him, closing the door behind him. "I have to ask, what made you want to see me? Is there something on your mind, Yuuto? You know you can talk to me about anything." She gave her brother a hug from behind, unable to remember the last time she was able to do it since it'd been quite a while since she last saw him. Between him working and school, he was just as equally busy as she was. Though she always tried her best to make time for her family, even if the other members of it tended to be unbearable to deal with.

He smiles to himself hearing how Feodora wanted to cook a proper meal.  She always cooks excellent dishes.  Yuuto would never admit it but Feodora inspires him to cook from time to time.  He must stick with basic meals and nothing complicated.  It takes a while for Yuuto to get tired of eating the same old thing.  Every once in a while, he may crave something new.  He has no doubt Feodora will take care of that tonight.  Yuuto is taken back as Feodora hugs him.  She must really miss me he thinks to himself.

Feodora explains that the food will be ready in a few minutes.  The way it smells Yuuto wishes it was ready now.  He glances around his sister's place.  It is cute, cozy and so her.  He is caught off guard as Feodora hugs him from behind.  She is happy to see him but knows something is wrong.  Yuuto can feel his body tense as he still hasn’t decided how much he wants to reveal to his sister.

“I wanted to catch up,” he replies.  Feodora releases him on full alert.  Her eyes sparkling waiting to hear what he has to say.  Yuuto loves how attentive she is.  Even when he was younger her eyes always lit up when he was talking.  She cared about his interests, and what he wanted to do with his life.  He honestly could go without speaking to his family for the rest of his life but Feodora.  “Work has been work.  I have taken on a side project I just completed recently.  I almost didn’t get the job.  I believe the only reason I did is I processed the work for free and......the omega passed out at Melody Café.  I couldn’t leave him there, so I took him back to my place.”  Yuuto closes his eyes taking a deep breath.  It has been 3 weeks since this happened but his mind, his body remembers it has it happened yesterday.  He feels his alpha move within him holding in a growl.  He will never forget Shouta’s scent.  He still has the poor guy's coat hostage in his room.  Yuuto opens his eyes to see his sister staring back at him curiously.

Just from hugging her brother, Feodora could sense and feel him tense up. She doesn't mention it, at least for the time being but makes a mental note of it. He may have told her he wanted to catch up but she couldn't help but wonder was that all he wanted to do. There had to be something else on Yuuto's mind. Like always, the woman knew he was going to beat around the bush until she had to practically pry it out of it him to tell her everything. But at least she wasn't forceful in doing so like their parents. If she could even call that woman her "mother". Feodora wanted to roll her eyes at that thought but didn't want to make it obvious that her thoughts briefly strayed.

Right now, her focus was on Yuuto and she wanted to give him her full attention and not have him worried about her. Feodora never had much going on in her own life outside of work so there wasn't a need to worry about her. If anything, she was constantly worrying about her brothers. They knew this. At least Naji and Yuuto were aware of her concern for them more than Tatsuya did. Refocusing her thoughts and attention where they should be, she released her brother, carefully placing her arms behind her back as she kept her warm smile as she tilted her head to the side, not taking her eyes off her brother as she listened and allowed for him to talk.

He seemed to be doing well with his work which was good. He's doing what he always wanted to do and she made sure to encourage him to follow his dreams and his heart. The reason she did this was she knew their mother and his father would want that for him. Especially his father. It was obvious that some part of Yuuto resented his father for not fighting for him to not be taken away but if he had a choice to keep him without Feodora's father using dirty tactics involving the courts and other malicious means, he would have fought to keep him. She may have never gotten to have met him if that'd been the case but at least he would've had a caring parent that took care of him. And she saw that Yuuto had that same ambition as his father and she didn't want to see him lose that and was glad he hadn't.

He stuck to his guns about working in the field he wanted to work in and she couldn't be more proud of him. Feodora did show an expression of surprise when he'd mentioned having taken on a side project, something she hadn't expected of him and knew he wouldn't do without a real reason. "Oh I see. Well, at least you're getting more offers of work outside of the numerous manga authors you work with and making sure they're meeting their deadlines. I would've assumed you to be too busy to add more onto your plate," she replied as she walked toward the table, pulling out a chair and sitting down in it. She then lightly patted her hand atop the table, inviting her brother to join her. Her look changed to one of concern when Yuuto had mentioned the Omega he was apparently working with related to the new project had passed out on him in public.

She couldn't help but put her hands over her mouth, showing concern. "Oh no, are they okay?" Feodora asked worriedly. "You should've taken them to the hospital instead of your place. If they passed out, something was clearly wrong with them. You took a big risk doing that, you know," she chastised him.

He gives a small smile hearing how excited his sister is that he is getting more work but there is also that hint of concern.  Yuuto doesn’t have too many hobbies outside work.  No loving mate, he doesn’t see his family that often.  It is normal to be worried for anyone’s wellbeing if they are a workaholic.  Working does help him to keep from thinking so much about….everything.  Especially Shouta who has been on his mind heavily since that day.

“I was asked to specifically be on this project,” explains Yuuto.  “In this case I know the comic author.  I wanted to help them.”  Yuuto has moments where he can be stubborn and this is one of those moments.  Knowing that Shouta was the author behind the comic he certainly wanted dibs on this assignment.  He was hoping it would help them to get to know each other.  Now he is not so sure about that since Shouta hasn’t spoken to him since.  He holds in a sigh remembering to pay Sadie a visit at the bookstore.  Sadie can be rather…..outspoken.  In this case it helps as she knows Shouta far better than he does.

Yuuto comes out of his thoughts as Feodora scolds him for not taking the omega to the hospital.  She isn’t wrong.  Interesting how even Feodora knows something is wrong.  It is not normal for an omega to pass out in the way he did.  Yuuto didn’t even tell Feodora this was after his heat and not during.  Despite Shouta explaining his situation Yuuto knows he was not told everything.  Some key information was certainly missing from the conversation.  If it was any other omega Yuuto would have taken them to the hospital.  He debates on how much to reveal to his sister.

“You are right,” he admits.  “I should have taken him to the hospital, but I could tell he didn’t want to go.  He was very uneasy during our short time meeting.  It makes sense seeing as how we know each other.” Yuuto clears his throat feeling nervous.  “I feel like everything was under control until this female alpha cornered him by the restrooms.  Thank god I went to check on him.  She was all over him.  I was in the process of requesting her to release him, but she wasn’t letting go without a fight.  I didn’t like that and I know she could feel it.  Shouta passed out saving me from snapping on that female.”  Yuuto runs his hand through his hair remembering that moment clearly.  He went from wanting to attack that female alpha to needing to protect Sho at all costs. “It was hard work to get him into my home alone, but I think it was worth it.  Since he passed out his scent was releasing heavily.  Shouta looked a little better when he came to knowing he was in my home under my care.” This is the first time he has mentioned Shouta name to Feodora.  He wasn’t trying to hide it but is slightly anxious if his sister will remember who Shouta is.

Yuuto stops talking as he remembers all the chatting him and Shouta did.  He tried to understand Shouta only to find out he completely doesn’t.  Just the bare minimum which is his love for American comics.  Shouta is an omega who is a virgin.  He doesn’t like being touched or being intimate from what Yuuto has witnessed.  It is understandable.  At Shouta’s age that is just unheard of.  Perhaps his friend has yet to meet the right alpha.  Yuuto shifts his eyes trying to kept his inner alpha at bay.  Tends to act up whenever he thinks of Shouta.  That is not a discussion he wants to have with Feodora.

"I see. So this person that you took to your house was someone you personally knew and that's why you wanted to work on the project?" Feodora asked with a tilt of her head as she kept her attention on her brother. She continued to listen to him, getting somewhat of an understanding of it but she still felt he should've taken them to the hospital. Whether he knew them or not and even if they didn't want to. They were sick. It'd make sense to be taken to a hospital so they could be treated. But as her brother explained how the entire situation transpired that possibly caused everything, she noticed the disdain in his voice at the female Alpha that'd approached his friend.

She didn't know or wasn't aware of too many friends that Yuuto had. Outside of the one he had when he was younger, her brother kept to himself most of the time. As much as the young woman wanted to ask him so many questions, she also knew not to push. Instead just waited for Yuuto to come to her and talk. And when he would, she didn't hold back when it came to the opinions and advice she gave him. He was fully aware of this as Feodora would make it vocally known when she didn't approve of something her family was doing. Of course, their father didn't approve of any of them having a formed opinion that didn't align with his own. But Feodora refused to be silent. Especially when it came to their stepmother he mated and married.

That's a whole other headache and Feodora herself definitely knew that her brother didn't want to talk about their family affairs. Unless they were told they had a family meeting they needed to be present for, all of them pretty much minded their own business and did their own thing. Right now, Yuuto needed her. She could tell just by looking at the distressed expression on his face, listening to the disdain in his voice at mentioning a female Alpha approached his friend and how he didn't like it but what struck a chord with her is when he'd stated who the friend's name finally was and immediately Feodora knew who he was talking about.

"Shouta? Do you mean that friend of yours you never wanted to bring home but you were always bringing home a lot of different comic books and reading them? Those were his books you borrowed to read right?" Feodora asked him again, feeling bad that she had to because of what she was about to say next. "I asked because I remembered when tou-san would take them from you whenever ... she would go through your room trying to find anything to use to start an argument." Feodora narrowed her eyes as she refused to address her father's mate as her mother in any form. Preferring instead to either address the woman by her name or simply "she". She realized it was informally rude but she didn't care. She'd stopped caring years ago what that woman thought.

If anything, she hated how that woman invaded their lives and began controlling everything and trying to control them, Yuuto included. Feodora personally felt the woman had it out for him because he wasn't related to her father by blood. He wasn't his son but was ordered to call him as such while preventing him from contacting his real father. There were times she wished their family lives hadn't been so difficult but she could at least be happy they're doing what they enjoy even if it was a struggle to get there. She twiddled her thumbs, remembering the food was still cooking briefly but she was going to give it another minute before checking on it. "Is your friend okay now?" she inquired worriedly. "It's been years since you've seen him. I would say he would be ecstatic to see you but then I remembered why you couldn't anymore."

She sighed, shaking her head. "I may not have ever met your friend but I could tell how happy you were to have a friend back then. Taking that away from you ... I saw how broken you were because of it. I even told that to tou-san but he didn't want to hear it. He made that pretty clear when he didn't seem to like that he took you away from your father and prevented you from ever contacting him and telling him he could never reach out otherwise he'd threaten to make his life difficult. Tou-san is a powerful man. I have no doubt that he would've done it back then. Whether it still applies today, I have no clue. I feel like I failed you, Yuuto." Feodora frowned, her eyes shifting to glance down at her hands.

Many thoughts are running through Yuuto's mind as Feodora finally speaks up.  Her tone is soft, and comforting, he can tell she is trying to understand him.  The omega he took to his home is certainly not a stranger.  He didn’t even realize how crazy he sounded previously not mentioning that.  Yuuto nods his head thankful his sister is open to listening to him.  The rest of the family fails in this department.  His stepfather may listen but he still going to state his opinion and god forbid you don’t listen to him.  Moving out was the best decision he ever made.  He is lucky is even working for him.  However, making a decent living took priority.  Yuuto pride must be put aside.  He must admit the salary he makes for his age is impressive.  He doesn’t want anything.  Yuuto never asks his step-parents for financial help.  That is a must as he wants nothing to do with them.

Yuuto notices the wheels in his sister's brain turning.  Her eyes light up as soon as it hits her.  She asks for clarification just to ensure who Yuuto is talking about.  He fights down the blush that threatens to come across his cheeks.  Why did she have to say it like that?  He misses those days when Shouta would give him comics to read.  Shouta would also be excited to ask him what he thought of the comic.  What were his favorite parts were.  Yuuto smiles on the inside at the memory before Feodora reminds him how some people went out of their way to make him unhappy.  Feodora looks as if she feels terrible for bringing that up.  She swiftly asks if Shouta is his friend.

Good question.  Yuuto hasn’t spoken to him since.  They are working on their friendship rekindling but he does consider Shouta his close friend.  He finds it interesting getting to know him for who he is now.  He has yet to see that excited smiling Shouta but he knows he must be in there somewhere.  Feodora begins to openly express how she felt back during Yuuto childhood.  Yuuto has always known that what happened bothered Feodora.  She is the one person he can truly rely on.  She understands him for many reasons outside of what happened to him.  After all she lost their mother just as much as he had.  Yuuto finds himself becoming worked up as Feodora sorrowfully admits she fails him.  Yuuto has never felt this way towards his older sister.  She won’t even look at him as if trying to hide her grief.

“You didn’t fail me,” he says trying not to become emotional.  “Without Shouta you were the one thing that kept me going.” Yuuto has much he wants to say.  He doesn’t like talking about their family.  His father……he feels his father was a coward.  He let his stepfather take him away to a country he wasn’t too familiar with.  He was with a family who doesn’t truly love him.  Yuuto sighs before hugging his sister.  “I know you did everything you could.  I appreciate you more than I could ever say.”  Yuuto hugs Feodora tightly hoping she knows none of this is her fault.

All Feodora could do was smile as Yuuto made her feel better by telling her she didn't fail him. It was nice to hear, even if she still felt otherwise about it. Yet, she appreciated her brother's comforting words. Reaching her hand over, she placed it atop his, giving them a light pant, her smile not diminishing. "Arigatou, for saying that, Yuuto," she nodded. Even though deep down, she knew he probably felt otherwise about a lot of things regarding their family, it made her happy knowing that he could come to her when he needed to talk as well as appreciating all that she did for him. However, right now, he sounded like he wanted to focus on something else. That something else being the friendship he lost out on.

"Well, I am glad you came to talk to me. I miss catching up with you, Yuuto. There are some things I'd like to talk to you about eventually but your mind seems to be elsewhere. On your friend perhaps? The one you had back when you were in junior high?" she asked him, as she slowly rose up from her seat and left the table to head toward the kitchen to check on the food. By now it should've been fully done and with her being in the kitchen, she would also be able to hear and see her brother as well. So it wasn't as if she'd gone too far. However, she thought back to his friend Shouta. She didn't know why but that name sounds familiar to her for another reason too but at the moment she couldn't quite place her finger on why that was.

"How did he take seeing you again after all these years?" asked Feodora as she turned the stove off, then moved the pot to the burner adjacent to it so it could cool off. She wanted to believe their meeting after such a long time was excited but she had a feeling that it wasn't. 'Could he be upset by Yuuto's choices still from that long ago? Ah, I would be surprised if he was. That had to have hurt. I know it hurt Yuuto very much to let go of the only friend he had. I still should've done more,' she thought, taking two plates down from the cabinet, set them down on the counter, and began scooping a decent amount of what she'd made on the plates for the two of them. Once she'd finished, she took both plates and brought them back toward the table, setting hers down in front of her seat and then handing Yuuto his plate. "I hope you like it. Considering you've always been a picky eater," she joked lightly with a small laugh.

Feodora smiles but Yuuto knows there is more to that smile.  He loves Feodora very much.  He appreciates everything she has done for him, every sacrifice.  Without her, he wouldn’t know what family truly is.  Feodora begins to look like herself again.  She goes to check on the meal firing off many questions causing Yuuto to feel flustered.  He doesn’t even know where to start as Feodora sets the meal down in front of him.  Whenever he thinks of Shouta he constantly thinks of what he could have done differently.

“This meal has great presentation,” replies Yuuto looking up at her smiling.  He dislikes when people just toss a meal onto a plate.  Give the food some love and care.  Yuuto can’t help himself but to grab a bit onto his fork blowing on it before taking a small bite.  He begins to smile.  “Feodora, this is delicious,” he chuckles before smiling and eating a few more bites.  “Thanks for preparing this.  I needed a nice loving meal.”  Yuuto begins to think about where to start with Shouta.

“To answer your question yes, my mind is on Shouta,”  Yuuto blushes looking down at his plate as that didn’t come out in the way he wanted.  “I ran into him looking for you a few weeks ago.  I walked in on Shouta's friend and business partner Sadie putting her foot up Tatsuya *ass*.”  Yuuto smirks at the memory. “Not seriously but she definitely showed him he is not to disrespect her or Shouta.  I’m glad she stopped him from whatever his true intentions were.
We both know how he is I'm sure no good would have come of it.”
Yuuto takes another bite as the events are coming back to the forefront of his mind.  Not that he can ever forget Tatsuya trying to touch his friend in any manner. “Shouta wouldn’t even look at me……  Soon as he realized it was me he avoided eye contact.” Yuuto feels sad because even now he feels that Shouta hasn’t truly forgiven him.  He didn’t mean to hurt him.  He truly thought he was doing the right thing at the time.

“If not for Sadie I don’t think he would have even spoken to me,” he continues.  “I didn’t know my actions upset him so much.  I explained to him why I ended our friendship.  How it was not completely my doing.  It didn’t matter to him.”  Yuuto shovels more food into his mouth to gather his thoughts.  “A work contact informed me that Shouta graphic artist was out very last minute.  Shouta would need someone to step in until they returned.  I could use more practice and the bonus is I get to work with Shouta.” He sighs unable to hold this one in.

“He set up a meeting at Melody Café,” Yuuto explains.  “Soon as he laid eyes on me, I could see him tensing up.  He didn’t want to hire me even though I do good work.  My work speaks for itself.  Shouta said me working for him is a conflict of interest.  I can separate work from personal.  I was in the process of trying to convince him when we were interrupted by heat, post heat, something.”  Yuuto sits his fork down unable to focus on his meal as all the emotions he felt come rushing back to him.  “It’s complicated.  Something is different about Shouta and I don’t know what.  He wouldn’t go into details.  Rightfully so….he doesn’t know me.”  Yuuto goes quiet as he recalls how things ended with them.  He slides his right hand through his hair trying to relax.  Shouta has every right to feel the way he does but a part of Yuuto doesn’t feel that way.  He feels that Shouta should be more welcoming considering how close they were.

Yuuto decides not to inform Feodora how he almost went into rut.  It was the first time ever he had taken suppressants and they didn’t work.  Everything worked out since he told Shouta to leave before things could go any further.  Shouta's scent continues to linger in his apartment but he doesn’t mind.  Shouta's scent gives him a sense of calm he can’t explain.  “Um I haven’t spoken to him since I completed the project for him.  I have his number, we could text, but I feel like I would be overstepping somehow.”  Yuuto finally looks up making eye contact with Feodora.  “I’m afraid he will hate me forever.  I want Shouta in my life again.”  Yuuto rubs his eyes as he feels them water up.  He breaks eye contact feeling silly busying himself with eating more of his sister’s delicious meal.

Feodora smiled as her brother complimented her cooking. It warmed her heart to know that he still enjoyed the meals she prepared and it made cooking for him much more rewarding. "I'm glad you're enjoying the food. I'm normally helping out in the inn kitchen from time to time making sure meal requests from guests and residents are prepared on time and properly. And cooking for you guys at home also helped my skills a little better too," she said with a chuckle as she took a bite of her own food and began to listen to Yuuto speak about his friend. She waited, giving Yuuto a moment to tell her fully what was on his mind and how he was feeling before giving him any advice.

However, she was definitely curious as to how his old friend reacted to seeing him again after quite some time. Knowing the average person, that kind of betrayal hurts when it's already hard for people to form close bonds with one another. Of course, she did become momentarily distracted upon being told that their brother Tatsuya tried to sexually harass his friend which made the young woman narrow her eyes in annoyance rather than surprise. She was hardly surprised by Tatsuya's actions and she made it a point to frequently tell him how she disapproved of his behavior. Even if he could've remotely cared what she thought which irked her even more.

"God, he's an idiot," Feodora grumbled while releasing a sigh. "I'm glad your friend is okay and that Tatsu didn't get as far as he wanted. He's lucky to have had his business partner there to look out for him. Gomen that I showed up sometime after it happened. Nobody said anything when I did return home. Things got so busy here at the inn that day that I lost track of time. Now that really makes me feel bad considering Tatsu wouldn't have tried that knowing I was there." Oddly enough, while Tatsuya would openly tell her numerous times he didn't care what Feodora thought of him, he could tell some part of him did as he kept his behavior in check whenever she came to the family home.

Even if she wasn't at fault for anything that transpired, Feodora would always blame herself for not being there when bad things tend to happen regarding their family. "Again, I am glad your friend is okay. Though I am surprised the business partner still wanted to do business with our family after that. I'm curious as to what made them change their mind and not report what Tatsu did." That was another question that popped into the woman's mind. Well, at least she knew that Tatsuya wouldn't dare to try and harm Yuuto's friend again, not with a business partner like that, that's overprotective. It was good he had someone there but despite the incident, they still decided to do business and it made Feodora wonder could it have been because Yuuto had shown up to intervene further. She wanted to ask but she allowed Yuuto to finish his story as she sat there eating and listening.

Listening further, she could tell by her brother's words how distressed he feels regarding his friend Shouta. And she could tell he wanted to work with him on his comic as his artist even if it was only temporary but his friend felt otherwise about that. Feodora wasn't surprised to hear that but it would seem that Yuuto was and clearly didn't understand it. He wanted to be in his friend's life again but clearly did not understanding why the other was being very distant. 'It seems like I'm going to have to explain it to him after all,' she thought humorously. "I know you mean well, Yuuto but you have to look at it from his perspective too. Even though after all this time that he was searching for an answer that you finally gave him, he still doesn't trust you. He fears you might do it again and you can't really blame him for feeling that way." She momentarily sat her fork down on her plate to lace her fingers together as her eyes were sternly on her brother.

"You broke off your friendship with him and he's still hurting from that more than likely. And now that he's older, it's not surprising he's quite different as a person and probably not as trusting as he once was. Our father is a cold bastard that likes to have his way. When things fall out of line whether it is with work or his children, he makes sure to place us in positions where we can't refuse him. You, unfortunately, got placed into the worse position of having to let go of your friend. Now, you have to pay the price for that. It's going to hurt and nothing is ever easy but you have to give your friend some time to be able to trust you." She hoped that her brother wouldn't be upset with her but she wasn't going to sugarcoat anything. All actions and decisions have consequences to them. Yuuto is just on the worst end of his consequences by expecting his friend to rekindle their friendship and not be at least upset about how they stopped being friends in the first place. But she couldn't help but feel that something else was at work here and decided to pry a little bit.

"Is Tou-san still pressuring you in finding a mate or on a random occasion trying to set you up with someone?" she queried, wondering how he'd respond to that question.

Yuuto knows the residents at the in are very lucky to experience his sister cooking from time to time.  Meals always taste better when the chef is giving it their all.  Feodora is so patient and kind as she listened to Yuuto explain what happened previously.  Feodora is visibly upset when Yuuto explained what Tatsuya did to Shouta.  Yuuto meant every word he said.  He knows for a fact he will never leave Shouta alone with their so called family.  Yuuto is taken back when his sister apologizes for not being at the house during the attempted assault.  She is so hard on herself.  Tatsuya is a grown man.  He knew exactly what the heck he was doing.  Feodora shouldn’t take that blame on herself.

“That he is,” Yuuto agrees.  “Feodora you did nothing wrong.  You have your own life to live.  Tatsuya knows the difference between right and wrong.”  Yuuto sighs.  “One day he is going to cost stepfather everything if he continues to move this reckless.” Yuuto eats a few more bites of Feodora delicious meal.  “Sadie is a wonderful woman and friend to Shouta from what I have seen.  I’m not use to seeing females best Tatsuya in the way she did.” Yuuto chuckles at the memory.  He thinks over what Feodora just said.  Why didn’t they press charges?  Yuuto shrugs feeling imprudent that he couldn’t answer that.  He is positive Tenji would have made the charges disappear anyway.

Yuuto tenses as Feodora explains how he should understand Shouta feelings regarding him.  Leave it to Feodora to be the voice of reason.  Yuuto can’t help but still be upset deep down regarding Shouta’s distant and cold disposition towards him. “I do but I don’t,” he replies trying to keep his voice even.  His alpha moves within him causing him to grip his fork a little tighter.  “I know what I did hurt but it hurt me too.  I tried apologizing.  I tried explaining but it’s like he didn’t even care.  I thought what I was doing was right for us both at that time.  You said it so yourself.  Stepfather is cold blooded.  Yes, I am most certainly paying price for my actions.”  Yuuto munches on his meal to calm down a bit.  “No one will interfere with my decisions.  It’s my life to live.”  Yuuto learned a hard lesson the day he ended his friendship with Shouta.  He is not going to make that mistake again.  He sighs as Feodora asks about the whole mate thing.

“Unfortunately, he still tries to set me up from time to time,” he replies.  “I understand it is good for the sake of his business but none of those people were my type.  They were so shallow, materialistic, and just terrible all around.  I don’t understand why he is focused on me finding a mate.”  A few people, very few did Yuuto meet that he can withstand.  One he is still friends with till this very day.  She broke the mold.  She came from money, but she also doesn’t act spoiled.  She envies people who aren’t rich.  They can come and go as they please.  Truly live and enjoy life.  They don’t have to worry about their parents fixing them up only with elite people of society.  They have a chance to find true love, a true mate.  She and Yuuto bonded over the fact they don’t care to find a rich mate.  They just wanted a good person who loves them.  While they had chemistry Yuuto alpha’s wasn’t taken by her.  It is nice he has someone to talk to from time to time.  Yuuto is fine being alone until the right person comes along.

Feodora sighed. She knew that Yuuto was right but that still didn't mean she didn't feel bad that it happened anyway. Tatsuya knows better and he's going to end up in a situation he can't just make go away. Not even their father could make it go away. That's what's going to happen if he kept sexually harassing people that clearly don't want him. Not everyone is interested in money simply because you throw it at them. It was quite clear that Yuuto's friend Shouta was one of those people. With Tatsuya being prideful, she also knew he doesn't take rejection well but he got taught a lesson in the end. She is still questioning why Shouta's friend Sadie didn't press charges.

'Maybe she had her reasons. Knowing Tou-san, he would've tried to coax her into accepting some sort of deal to make those charges go away. I don't know if she's the type of woman that would agree to that but I am aware that many have. If only to avoid Tou-san's wrath,' Feodora thought as she eat more of her food. More than anything she was just glad that Yuuto's friend was alright. She continued to sit there eating while listening to her brother. His words, and his body language, the woman could tell that he was hurt by having to break his friendship with Shouta. But she got this strange feeling there was something more to it than just that.

She couldn't put her finger on it but hearing him declare that he won't allow anyone to interfere with his decisions again, showed her he meant what he said. That he was serious about wanting to make things right and repair his friendship with Shouta. 'Is it really that though? Yuuto has never felt this strongly regarding a person before. All over a broken friendship. I don't think he even realizes it himself,' she thought, tapping her fork lightly against her plate a couple of times as she tried to think of how to bring it to her brother's attention without him getting upset over it. She didn't think he would but her brain was just nagging at her to do so.

"I'm not surprised he's still doing that. I'm sure you would've connected with at least one of those suitors and bonded with them if you were interested. Yet, Tou-san's reasons are usually not for us finding love. He wants us to find someone that provides financial stability," she replied with a sigh. "That sounds nice on paper but that's a boring lifestyle to have. I even find it wrong how he attempts to control the friends we have. He won't tell us the truth right then why he doesn't approve of our friends. He tells us when he's good and ready. I don't like that at all. And I know you want to make things right with Shouta but again, you can't expect that to be immediate, Yuuto. He hasn't seen you in years. You two are probably vastly different compared to when you were younger."

She sat her fork down on her plate as she laced her fingers together, her eyes directly on her brother as she gave him a stern look. "I think he will forgive you eventually. You really do want what you had with him back but now that you're both adults, it's not going to be the same." Feodora kept her eyes on Yuuto as she cleared her throat before speaking further. "You probably won't like me saying this but I will have to ask just so you can be aware of how you're expressing this strong desire to fix things with Shouta. Are you sure that the only thing you want with him is the friendship you had or are you feeling something more for him?" Feodora knew her brother wasn't the easiest person to connect with on an emotional level and it's rare when he allows himself to connect with anyone. But not like this with anyone outside of his former friend and it's why she was questioning him about it.

“You know how he can be,” replies Yuuto.  “Stepfather won’t back down.”  Yuuto doesn’t fully understand why his stepfather took him away from his bio dad.  All he did was treat Yuuto like a pawn for his business ventures.  Try to control him at every chance he could get.  He never stopped his siblings or stepmother from treating him like crap.  Then they took away the only person who made him feel alive.  Yuuto continues to eat seeing his sister appear deep within thought.  He wonders what she is thinking about.  Feodora kindly states Shouta will forgive him.

Yuuto holds in a sigh.  It doesn’t feel like it.  Yuuto knew their friendship was special but now he truly knows how much it was.  His heart flutters a little.  Yuuto doesn’t understand why.  It’s not like Shouta is here giving him that icy glare.  He knows Shouta is different and so is he.  Yuuto believes at the core they still get along well.  Despite how standoffish Shouta is he still trusts him as much as he does his sister.  Feodora inquires about his friendship with Shouta.  His alpha moves within him at the thought of him and Shouta being more than friends.

How?  He wanted to be friends.  Right?  Yuuto can feel his cheeks heating up.  He remembers seeing Shouta passed out.  He never felt so scared in his life.  It’s far from normal to see an omega in post heat releasing such a strong scent and fainting.  He was thankful to be there before that female alpha could take him away.  Yuuto begins to ask himself what does make Sho special to him.  It’s not just the fact Shouta is an omega.  He is an omega that accepts him.  He doesn’t treat him as if he is a pawn, rich, or a top alpha.  The more Yuuto thinks about the more he feels like Shouta would be the perfect omega for him.  He glances down as he never thought too hard about finding a mate.  Should he even really be thinking about Shouta being his mate when they are not even friends?

“I honestly don’t know Feodora,” he says lowly looking at his plate.  Yuuto has dated a few people but mostly at the push of his father.  He didn’t really care for the people he dated previously.  Yuuto is not even sure what it feels like to truly be interested in anyone romantically.  He refuses to have that kind of conversation with his sister.  He is not sure it is the kind of conversation he wants to have with anyone.  Yuuto places his elbows on the table burying his face into his hands.  Why does this question have to be so hard for him to answer?  God….

"Yeah well, tou-san not backing down is the reason I left. He started barking orders at me and threatening me to where I got sick of it and decided to leave and pursue my own goals. Our mother would've wanted that for all of us. I don't like the woman that he's with now and her son is no better but he's our stepbrother and we've had to make do with that. Tatsu is still an idiot though," Feodora said with a long sigh. She wasn't sure when Tatsuya would ever grow out of his ways but after this long, she didn't imagine that being anytime soon. And Neji became more neutral and distant but the woman was glad he wasn't outright abusing Yuuto anymore. He was just struggling to figure out how to make up for what he did to him.

As for Yuuto's other situation regarding his friend Shouta, Feodora could tell by looking at her brother just how much he was struggling trying to give her an answer to her question. But he'd simply responded with he didn't know. She tilted her head to the side. 'He really cares about Shouta. I can tell. I don't know to what extent outside of the friendship they once had but I can't help but feel that some part of him is struggling with feelings he didn't believe would surface,' she thought, sitting her fork down on her play momentarily to stand up and reach her hand forward and place it atop her brother's head to comfort him. "You can talk to me about what you're feeling, Yuuto. I'm not going to judge you. I never have. Only you know what you're feeling. It's not something I can answer for you. And I'm not telling you to not care about your friend. I just want you to take the time to think about just how much you care about him. Given how you've been speaking about him, it sounds as if something more is going on with you regarding him. More than you're willing to admit."

She removed her hand from her brother's head and sat back down in her chair, her attention fully on him. Feodora knew Yuuto didn't like talking about mating at all with anyone. Naturally, it is an uncomfortable discussion to have with anybody. But for his sake, she wanted to make sure her brother knew what he wanted from Shouta. If he wanted his friendship again, he just need to be patient and allow time for things between them to mend. If he wanted something more with him, well, she wasn't sure how that was going to work out given that Shouta still didn't trust Yuuto all because of their father's interference. If Yuuto has thought about wanting Shouta as a mate, Feodora knew that wouldn't go over well with him. Personally, she would be supportive but this had to be what this was. She didn't want to probe for something that wasn't really there. She'd rather for her brother to tell her on his own.
