Yuuto nods, understanding his sister’s reaction completely. Most people on the outside view the Usui family as powerful, rich, high society, and that their life is perfect. It is far from that. Yuuto never bothered to explain this to anyone he would run across. Those who are meant to know about the truth of his family will see it on their own. It’s why Yuuto wants to shield Shouta from seeing his family. Yuuto's mind is focused on regaining Shouta’s trust and move forward with their friendship. He brings his mind back to Feodora. Yuuto knows for a fact Tatsuya won’t change. He is grown and still acts like a spoiled teenager. Neji has been cordial with him but Yuuto doesn’t trust him. It’s going to take a lot more than a few conversations to earn his trust.
“Your reasons for leaving are valid Feodora,” he replies.
“I dislike that we both felt the need to distance ourselves but we both are in a much better place physically and mentally.” Yuuto stares at his sister feeling proud. Times like this he wonders if this is what their mother was like. So loving, supportive. He tries not to think of it often because it would make him emotional enough to cry. How can he cry over someone he barely knows? It’s his mother. Deep down he feels that a lot of her lives in Feodora.
Yuuto tenses hearing Feodora's suggestion in regards to Shouta. There it is again. His heart beating hard, betraying him in every way possible. Would it be so bad if he wanted something more with Shouta? Yuuto holds in growl because he feels like wanting more from Shouta would be crossing a line. Shouta doesn’t even want to be friends right now. He could care less if his family will accept Shouta or not. They no longer have a say in who his mate is. Anyone they suggested in the past was horrible for him.
“Thank you Feodora,” Yuuto responds timidly.
“I appreciate your support always.” He chuckles anxiously.
“Leave it to you, forcing me to think. Friendship with Shouta is important to me. I remember what we had and I want that. I want him in my life.” Yuuto drops his head as the fear rises in him. He has never cared for anyone the way he does Shouta. He did hurt Shouta in the past but he would never do so again. He would step up not only as an alpha but a true mate.
“I would be honored to take him on as a mate. That is something he doesn’t want, especially with me. Friendship is better than nothing.” Yuuto fights to not tear up. He has never admitted out loud about wanting a mate ever. Especially with Shouta Akimoto. Yuuto wipes his eyes, ridding them of tears that begin to fall.
“I don’t want to force Shouta to do anything. He will either accept the friendship or he won’t. I will keep trying but won’t press too hard. It’s difficult. I don’t know what will happen.” Yuuto sighs wondering if he said too much. It is his sister after all. If it is anyone who can know how he truly feels, it is her.
