A New Home For Us (Yukiyo Akuma)
« on: March 03, 2021, 02:10:08 pm »
There's nothing new or exciting about moving to Tokyo. The flight was long after a goodbye party where everyone else cried as they recount fond memories of their time spent together. A part of Sassa is sad, but she didn't cry. Instead, she drank and said her farewells. Part of her would always remain with Dr. Stendahl who died of natural causes years ago and the rest in Germany. Due to her species, she was able to book first class and get ample room for her tail and wings without having curious onlookers touch them. It's raining when her plane lands, and there are accidents along the way to Red Fountain Apartments causing delay after delay. Sassa's tired from containing her anger and trying not to make international news by 'accidentally' smacking someone onto the ground with her tail. All she wanted to do was get her items into the apartment, make her bed, and fall asleep for a week.

The movers hired by some sponsor or another took their sweet time getting her belongings into the apartment and left without question. Boxes upon boxes of clothes, personal items, cooking, and other home furnishings scattered about. Sassa didn't trust the humans to know what made a dragon's home and would end up spending precious energy yelling.

"Like humans know what a dragon wants. As Heir to the Gold and Fire Dragon, I claim this apartment as my home and kingdom! I shall find my mate and make them rule alongside me as we plan to conquer this world!" Sassa removes her jacket, and tosses it onto one of the boxes leaving her only in a baby blue tank top, and matching skirt. "Now, time to organize this kingdom to my liking!"

Taking the boxes to her room, she begins unpacking and organizing to her liking. In the center, she lays out her comforter and puts her Godzilla and Mothra plushies on it. "Now behave my little ones. Mama is making this place our new home so don't mess up anything."

Most days, Yukiyo would just sit in her room, staring at the ceiling, maybe practice a little fighting, but today was no regular day.

A deafening announcement noise came from the speaker in the corner of her room. Yukiyo covered her ears before they started to bleed before hearing a familiar, supervisor voice over the speaker

"Heyy - Yukiyo, I know you probably don't care that much, but we found a place for you" a light bit of paper rustling came after, and then finally "Red.. Fountain Apartments... - Apartment K-3. Please be patient as our team moves your stuff to outside your apartment." And like that, the announcement ended, and the door opened to a 5 man team rush in, and seemingly within seconds, Yukiyo's room was bare, with barely a scrap of pink paint left on the wall, it was pretty obvious they were itching to get her out. On her bed a small, modern looking smartphone, obviously not the newest model, but it'd be more than enough for daily life outside the facility.

Not long after, Yukiyo was called to the front desk of the facility where she got given her key to the apartment and a small backpack. She then headed out of the building, and soon got a notification on her phone, which made her jump at first, but they made sure to teach her the very basics, so she ended up getting directions via the GPS, and made her way to the block. On approaching the apartment, Yukiyo slowed, preparing her tail and a small blade for defence. Something, or someone was inside what she thought would be a single person apartment.

Having planned out what she wanted her new home to look like, Sassa moved the furniture, large screen TV and low tables in their proper places. There are no couches or chairs, but rather bean bag-looking chairs specifically made for humanoids with extra appendages for them to comfortable sit and lay back. The 'couch' is a set of thick material that's durable against scales, but soft to take a nap on. It can be positioned to lean against similar to a couch. It didn't take long to put the kitchen equipment where it needed to go. Sassa lights a scented candle; soon, the apartment smelled what reminds Sassa of a human tavern filled with mead and meat, and it made her homesick.

"Even if I never see my family again, I'll make a new kingdom here." Shaking her head to get rid of the negative thoughts, Sassa unpacks the groceries; it's enough to feed three people for a month. It's early summer, but cleaning and unpacking already has her sweating. The tank top and skirt tinting with wetness, but it doesn't stop her from finishing the kitchen and living room.

Then, she senses it. For the first time since she's arrived, there's another dragon. Unraveling the bandages on her right arm, she positions herself to tackle the intruder should they step inside her home. Her juniper scent already thick in the air marking the place as her territory, and none shall enter without her permission. Her thick tail swishes back and forth like a cat waiting to pounce. Then, she howls; it's loud enough for the other to hear her, but not enough to break any glass.

Yukiyo knew something felt weird as soon as she entered the building. However, growing up how she did, Yukiyo had never enounctered another dragon before so had never sensed like this before.

Yukiyo approached the apartment, made obvious by the boxes outside with "Yukiyo Akuma" writen on the side, clearly placed here pretty recently. She was glad she prepared a knife because the sense just got stronger as she approached. The sense was coming from this apartment. Then the howl hit her, her horns rattling due to the fact it's from another dragon and Yukiyo covering her ears due to the volume. Yukiyo bashed the wall of the apartment with her tail as her ears rang.

Finally, she approached the door, inserting the key, but it seemed like it was already unlocked, so Yukiyo turned the knob and went to enter the place, readying her knife and tail for defence.

Sassa pauses at the sight of the dragon. Memories recalling the thick scales of mighty dragons ready to burst from adrenaline and rage to fight to the death. The other dragon's small stature with tiny, misshapen horns was a joke. Sassa stands at her full height, and laughs like the other just told a joke.

"I, Sassa Stendahl, Heir to the Gold Dragon, cannot believe I saw you as a challenge. Are you even a dragon?" she mocks. Flipping her hair behind her shoulder, she smirks while running a finger down one of her horns. "A babe is all you are. Crooked horns, and a fish tail. You have no chance against me. Surrender, and maybe I'll go easy on you." Her smirk turns into a grin as a thought crosses her mind. Her red scaled right arm glows as fire appears swirling around it. "Or, if you want to die, I'll happily grant your wish. Tell me, little one, what brings you here?"

Yukiyo wasn't really one to talk much, so didn't really reply quickly as this dragon woman barraged her with insult after insult, she mostly just sighed. "I live here now, apparently." Yukiyo replied, working her way backwards from what Sassa was saying "Didn't expect to be sharing though. At least I'm out of that dreadful institution though." She sighed, piecing this situation together.

"As much as I'd prefer not to die after just becoming free, it would be an honour to die by the hands of another dragon after a battle, however I think you'll find I'm not just a dragon, so don't underestimate me just because I'm young and small." Yukiyo put her knife away to indicate she didn't wish to fight right now. Having just escaped from a life of fighting and solitude, right now she's genuinely exhausted and would like to actually comfortably rest for a while before dying. "Yukiyo. Yukiyo Akuma is my name. I don't know where I'm from, but it certainly isn't this realm." She held her hand out as a sign of piece, ready to summon a weapon at any moment if this dragon gets any funky ideas. It would probably be a good idea for Yukiyo to keep quiet about her guardian, or it might push this individual to bring it out.

Sassa is surprised the other - now named Yukiyo - doesn't want to fight. It catches her off guard, and it shows on her face. No other dragon she's met has ever declined a good even if it wasn't a fight to the death. In her world, it established hierarchy and fighting class. Sassa eyes the hand like it's beneath her to touch another individual. Yet, she makes an exception, and shakes Yukiyo's hand. "I am the magnificent Sassa Stendahl. I too, am not from this realm. The name was given to me by my caretaker who past years ago." There's a hint of sadness in her voice, but she doesn't let it show.

"Since we are house companions, or whatever the humans call it, diplomacy is preferred. I'm not one for it as I'd rather remove my problems permanently, but I was taught that is not the way. Perhaps one day we may fight on the battlefield against our enemies and roast their corpses until nothing is left!" She arrogantly laughs like she has the power to do so in this body. Her wings spreading out before folding behind her back. "I have already made my nest in one of the rooms. You are free to occupy the other.

OOC Notes: Sassa laughs like DIO, but I'm living for it.

Yukiyo nodded as she headed back outside, stacking a couple of the smaller boxes and slowly carrying everything into her new bedroom, slowly decorating as she did so. The apartment was eerily quiet after that incident, Yukiyo feeling a little awkward about the whole thing, but thinking about what Sassa said about also not being from this realm. Could they possibly be from the same place? The name does feel slightly familiar to her, though it's probably nothing, due to Yukiyo being stolen so young she doesn't even remember.

Yukiyo continued to think, sat on her bed, about this girl, her neighbour. Something was different, odd, about this girl. Despite her usual attitude toward people, Yukiyo somewhat wanted to become friends with this girl, to learn from her. Unfortunately, by the time she'd returned from the realm of her own mind, it had already gotten pretty late, and she yawned. Shortly after, Yukiyo decided to get into bed, which was decorated in the stuff she'd brought from her room in the facility, which she hoped Sassa didn't see any time soon, due to it being quite childish. Eventually, as it did most nights, Yukiyo curled up, with her tail following as she gripped it, eventually falling asleep, hoping for no terrors tonight.

Sassa watches from her own bedroom as Yukiyo takes the second bedroom. Nosey as she is, she flopped on the couch and turned on the television pretending not to notice the other dragon. Every so often glancing as much as she can at Yukiyo. The dragon is gorgeous though she wouldn't voice it. Lovely blue hair, horns, and those red eyes. Sassa could pretend all she wanted that she didn't want to look into those crimson orbs, but she would remain firm in her stance. It wouldn't do to be like those silly human schoolgirls and confess attraction without knowing the other.

"Ugh, there's nothing on tele-" The channel flips to a translated British movie about Beowulf and his heroic deeds. Still, in her tank top and skirt, she sits up and growls at the television like it's personally annoying her. In this world, Beowulf (if he was a true person and hero) won the fight against the dragon. Yet, in her world, the legendary Gold Dragon won. It always irritated her, and no matter how much she argued against the scientists there was nothing to be done. This world vastly differed from her own. "B*stards." She flips through the channels loudly complaining about the weird shows Japanese people have.

Sassa continues watching television until Yukiyo goes to bed. Yawning loudly, she debates on what to do. She's not sleepy, and her source of entertainment is in bed so now what? Watch p*rn? People have weird dragon fetishes so maybe there's something new she hasn't seen yet.
OOC Notes: If Yukiyo gets terrors then Sassa will comfort her!

Unfortunately, tonight wasn't an amazing night for Yukiyo, while she fell asleep as quickly as she usually did, her night terrors returned again tonight. Her sleep started as it would any normal night, but it quickly dropped down into nightmare territory, and then night terrors. Yukiyo thrashed around in her bed, letting go of her tail and bashing it against her bed involuntarily, creating a sizable dent in the frame. Muffled squeals could probably be heard from her room as she squished her face into her pillow, something that's become a reflex over the years for the growing girl.

Sometimes these night terrors will eventually leave and let Yukiyo sleep, but tonight they just would not leave her alone. Eventually, Yukiyo was able to wake herself up, with an audible gasp as she trembled, sat up in her bed. Yukiyo partly hoped Sassa didn't hear her in terror, not wanting to come off as weak and fragile-minded... Plus the fact of Yukiyos... unfortunate decoration at the moment. The other half of Yukiyo hoped Sassa heard her and would come to her rescue, giving her someone to hold onto. Typically, Yukiyo would suppress this part of her, but she was really vulnerable at the moment, having had a night terror she hadn't had in years. In this moment, anything would be better than going back to sleep for Yukiyo...
