Good Afternoon Chrome Head (Feodora/Closed)
« on: December 16, 2021, 05:46:50 pm »
"Ladies and Gentlemen stand and clap your hands fir the master of darkness!  The king of Metal!  The man you love.....THE HEAVY METAL DRUID!!!"  As the announcer's voice fadded The Heavy Metal Druid appeaered in a series of smoke and flame to the thunderous applause of screaming fans.  The man thrust his fist in the air creating a lightning effect before strumming his guitar with a powerful thrash.

Gasping....Nikolas Johnson woke up to a throbbing headache as he stood up in his bed at the Amestia Inn.  His final preformance as the Heavy Metal Druid had been the night before, and naturally his agent had sent him off with one Hell of a party ending the concert season.  Sitting up, he rubbed his temples as he looked around his room and dressed himself in a tight black Metallica Shirt and Camo colored pants used by the group Sabaton.

He grunted as he took in a breath of crisp air and tried to recall how he got back in last night but couldn't Crack the residue of beer, whiskey, and sake followed by shouts of "Kampei."  Still not knowing what it meant he finally walked out of his room and down the hall hoping he had not bothered his neighbors.  The scent of fresh coffee attracted his nose and entering the lobby he was able to grab a cup and sighed as the black liquid burned his throat.  Knowing that hot coffee and crisp air calmed hangovers he stood down to the pool area to get some fresh air as he put a hand through his long black hair.

Taking another sip of coffee he heard a loud crash noose and looked curiously as he called out in English, "Hello? Someone there?"

It was a cool winter morning. The temperature outside was between cool and warm which is what prompted manager Usui Feodora to break out the cleaning products and work on cleaning the pool. A task that needed to be done a few weeks ago but it'd been far too cold to have anyone go outside and do it. She didn't want anyone risking getting themselves sick doing that and was fine putting it off until it was a little bit warmer outside for it to be done. Balancing the rates for the week and making sure all payments for residents who lived at the inn and those just passing through had been done for the day and it wouldn't need to be tended to until tomorrow morning. Which meant she had free time until her shift ended to help her employees out. But as they'd been tasked to do other things, she decided to busy herself cleaning the inn pool.

She had the pool's system renovated earlier this year to add a setting to heat the pool during the winter and that was the only time the setting was used. Usually, it's turned off and the pool retains normal temperature for the hot summer and fall seasons. But she hadn't wanted to shut the pool down for winter since residents liked using it so it made sense for it to be suited with warm to hot water. The only time Feodora shut the pool down is when the weather states there will be a snowstorm coming. In which case, she makes sure to cover the pool properly, draining it if need be but most of the time she didn't have to do that thankfully. And the storms never messed up the system bad enough to where it couldn't be operated during cold temperatures. She made sure of that and the new updates have yet to let her down. Dressed in jeans and a black turtleneck and an apron covered over it, she wore a smile on her face as she opened the door to the cleaning supply closet to get started only to be "almost" met with a broom handle crashing into her face but thankfully she saw it in time and quickly moved out of the way.

However, this caused a few things in the supply closet to fall after it, making her heave a sigh, pushing her glasses up on her face as she now had to straighten up the closet properly before getting started. "I've told them time and again to not just throw the supplies in here. Somebody could easily get hurt," Feodora stated aloud as she bent down and began picking up the broom and a long handheld duster that'd fallen out. Beside them was a metal cleaning bucket that'd made most of the noise outside which made it so that the woman hadn't heard anyone in the area speaking during the ruckus.

Ever the curious one and perhaps against his better nature, Nikolas walked around the pool path and came across a woman with her back to him griping something in Japanese.  Though not yet a master of the language he could tell the cause of her irritating tone was the mess of cleaning supplies on the floor as she started to clean up.  White hair was a rarity but one he found attractive, plus admittedly he found her glasses cute.  Never one to feel attached to women since losing his father, Nikolas's relationships had been typically one night stands with groupies he met at his shows.  As such it was hard to form that romantic or caring bond he had lost.  Still he couldn't help but blush a little as he looked at her as she worked to pick up the supplies.

She did look familiar to him and he tried to place her.  Then he recalled he had seen her in the kitchen on more than one occasion.  Right....as he recalled her family owned the Inn.  Clearing his throat he came up from behind her and said, "Are you okay?  Do you need help with anything??"

Feodora had put the broom and duster to the side, leaning them up against the wall by the closet door so she could go in and clear some things out to properly arrange everything so they weren't thrown or jammed inside. For the most part, she took care of maintenance work orders around the property but if there wasn't something that couldn't be easily fixed, she'd hire someone who could to fix it. Certain tasks weren't all that difficult. She'd learned quite a few things when she attended college. If only out of her own curiosity to see how to do something. Even she could admit that she couldn't do everything and sometimes having to hire the right people to get it done properly was what came with the job of managing an inn. The inn and the Heat House were still owned by its respective owner and her along with the manager over the Amestia Inn were in charge of running and managing things at the forefront.

Business management was a headache but it was worth it knowing that she could do some good somewhere by helping others out. Sometimes people just needed a place to belong and call home. Even if it was a small inn such as this one. It wasn't extravagant that the Red Fountain Towers mind you but Amestia Inn and Amestia House do well for themselves. And they also make sure to keep people off the properties that don't have a room and charge those who mess up their rooms for damages. That said, it was also up to everyone that worked there to keep things maintained. That included their work areas. Going through the supply closet, Feodora didn't know what half of this stuff was and there were also a few large boxes in the back she hadn't seen before. Not to mention, the cleaning products she needed to use were in the wrong areas in the closet which also wasn't good and anyone not paying attention could easily hurt themselves trying to get anything out of it.

She made herself useful, grabbing the first couple of boxes out of the closet and setting them down on the ground beside each other before going inside for the third box. When she came back out, she turned around briefly to move that metal bucket out of the way and close by the wall with her left foot so she wouldn't have to keep walking over it, all the while, not paying attention, her back ended up crashing into what felt like a warm body of someone behind her which caught her off guard when they cleared their throat to get her attention and she'd almost dropped the box in her arms out of fright but she managed to regrip her hold of it, if it meant further crashing into the person, causing them both to lose their balance and fall on the ground in a sitting position. Of course, she'd dropped the box during all of this but it'd fallen between her legs while the items inside of it clanked against one another.

Feodora winced at the fall she'd taken but it was only a slight pain she'd felt from one of her hands and her backside while the brunt of her fall had been taken by a raven-haired young man that she'd gotten a glimpse of once she'd turned her head around to look behind her to see who she'd accidentally inconvenienced. "A-Ah, gomen nasai," she apologized to him. Had she known he was there the first time, she would've been more careful But this was on her and she would be understandable if he was upset with her. The fall was anything but intentional. Clearly, he was a resident and not a trespasser because she could smell the inn's coffee on his breathe given how close she was to him. Trespassers never made it into the lobby without being identified by the front desk but it isn't expected of her to know all the residents that lived there. That didn't mean Feodora hadn't tried to keep up with remembering names but she did better remembering faces. This man looked familiar to her but his name escaped her. However, it wasn't hard to notice by looking at him, he was one of the foreigners that lived at the inn. American but she could be wrong about that. It'd be rude to ask.

Having realized finally how they were positioned, Feodora blushed, immediately crawling around to position herself behind the box as she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "This probably wasn't a good way to start off your day is it?" she laughed a bit, her cheerful tone and smile ever present.

Perhaps it was his instincts kicking in....or maybe deep down in his muscled, metal head banging body there was the calling of what passed for a gentleman, even from Jersey.  Whatever the reason as the girl fall backwards Nikolas opened up his big arms and reached out to catch her.  Unfortunately momentum decoded to be his enemy and not his friend today, for as she fell into his arms he fall backwards with her and landed on his back taking most of the impact. Grunting as the fall didn't do his hang over any better he felt movement in his arms.

Groggy and a bit confused, Nikolas focused and looked into the girl's eyes.  Something happened at that moment and Nikolas felt an intense burning in his face as he blushed.....wait he was blushing.  She had a friendly face to be sure, pretty eyes, a kind smile, and her glasses made her adorable to be sure.  But why was this making him blush??? No one girl had done that to him since he was back in America.

Shaking his head clear to hide the blush in his cheeks, especially realizing his large arms were still around her, Nikolas gave her a quick look over and said, "Oh no no, its perfectly okay.  A little excitement in the early hours is nothing bad.  Are you okay Miss???  You arent hurt are you?"

Feodora waved her hands to reassure the man that she was fine. If anything, she wanted to make sure he was alright. She hadn't wanted him to think she'd done it intentionally. Why would she do something like that given that she hadn't known he was even around to begin with. No, this was her way of trying to deescalate a possible catastrophic situation before it began. She wouldn't engage in arguing unless she had to but even then, she was just too nice when she spoke despite being serious. Feodora also hadn't thought the man had taken most of the impact of her fall. If anything, she'd only caught a glimpse of their position before immediately moving away to avoid upsetting him. Yet the tone in his voice didn't sound like someone who was upset. More concerned. For her well-being. Which was a first considering it was normally the other way around.

There was also no ignoring the blush on his face either or the redness on his cheeks could've come from the weather outside too. A number of possibilities. She was just trying to avoid assuming the most obvious because this wasn't the time for that. But she was glad he was alright, all things considering. That still hadn't erased the fact she felt bad about falling on the poor guy and knocking them both down. "I'm fine, really. No need to worry about me. Haha. Things happen. Just means I need to pay more attention when I'm working," replied Feodora as she began to fix her apron on her more, making sure it was tightened properly as it'd gotten loosened a bit during the fall. Once she'd done that, she'd fixed the straps on it while making sure her work nametag was still on and straight. Only then did she slowly rise to her feet and extend a hand to the raven-haired young man. "Again, really sorry. Let me help you," she offered with a smile.

Nikolas slowly and gingerly took her hand.  He wasn't hurt, far from it, yet felt it would have been rude if he had refused it. He slowly picked himself up and continued to look at her as fought the growing blush in his cheeks.  He didn't know what it was about her but cute was the word that kept springing to his mind.  At the same time despite his large thick hands he was careful with hers as he didn't want to hurt her.

As he stood at his full height he looked down at her and finally spoke after what seemed like forever.  "Thank you, I'm not hurt at all.  If anything I was worried you were hurt."  Putting a hand through his unruley hair he looked away for a moment to try and change the topic.  "Forgive me I haven't properlyintroduced myself.  I'm Nikolas Johnson, I live in one of the rooms here." he said finally getting enough control to look her in the eyes again.

Feodora smiled when the man took her hand and she did her best to help him to his feet despite being rather lightweight of a person but he was able to stand with no issues. She was happy to see that he was alright. She still couldn't help but worry, given how she was, nevertheless, she was willing to put it aside for the time being. She did take notice that the man was very much taller than her, towering over her. Feodora wasn't intimidated but at times she could forget that it was common for those who were Alphas to be exceptionally tall. Then again, genetics also had a hand in changing those factors about everyone so she didn't want to assume the man was an Alpha. She was just glad he wasn't upset and accepted her apology and offer to help him up. "Oh me? No, no, I'm fine. No need to worry about me at all," she assured him as she released his hand and frantically waved her hands in front of her.

It was sweet to know that he was worried about her but the fall didn't cause her to break anything so she was fine. Feodora just wanted to clear things up before it turned into a big misunderstanding. But he was a very considerate guy which she appreciated. Even better to know that he was also a resident that lived at the inn and not someone that had been trespassing, feeling bad now that she'd thought of him in such a way. As he'd introduced himself to her, she found it only fair to do the same. Retaining her smile, she clasped her hands together, lowering them, and then proceeded to give a polite bow to the man whose name was Johnson Nikolas. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Johnson-san. Atashi wa Usui Feodora des," she introduced herself in return while standing up straight. "I'm the manager of the inn in case you already didn't know. It's good to catch up with the residents to see how you guys are doing. And let me know if there's anything I can do to help if you're having any problems," she told him with a small laugh.

Nikolas nodded as he bowed back to her.  Though American by birth his time in Japan had taught him much about the culture and traditions of the country he had called home for the past few years.  Standing up at his full height he really how much taller he was than her and hoped he didn't make her uncomfortable.  "Thank you for all you do her Feodora-san.  I have to admit the facilitieshave been homey and given me everything I have needed while in this country. I consider myself well traveled and must say this is one of the best places I have stayed at."

Cracking his thick neck he took in the area and was able to figure out what she had been doing and scratched his chin fir a moment before looking back at Feodora.  Again he started to blush again.  He couldn't figure it out but there was something about her screaming cute at him.  He quickly took control of himself and said, "I was also taught to always repay the kindness of my hosts.  So if i could ever help you with anything I would be honored to do my part to help with repairs and general upkeep. Not to toot my own horn but i am quiet good with tools."

"Ah, so I was right then. I wasn't sure if you were a native or a visitor from another country but your explanation answered my question," Feodora gave a sheepish laugh. "Well, I am glad that you've enjoyed your stay in Japan and that we've made everything comfortable for you at Amestia while you're living here. We usually get mixed up with the Amestia House which is the partner property that serves as a Heat House. So on occasion, we do get people not wanting to stay here. It makes me happy you gave us a chance." That made Feodora happy to know that Nikolas's stay at the inn didn't give him any problems. She didn't deny that the in would get mixed up with the Amestia House which is one reason why the establishment would get bad reviews, simply because they either weren't a Heat House or could be one. Both properties were clearly different despite sharing the same name so she didn't understand the confusion. All people had to do was take their time and research the pamphlets both places provided and they would notice the clear differences between the two.

Having managed the property for as long as she had, Feodora didn't understand why that was still happening. She was doing her best to consult with the manager over the Amestia House property on ways to fix this issue. But even with the ideas they had both managed to come up with, they worked for a little while only for those problems to arise again. Feodora had just accepted after a while that it was going to happen whether she liked it or not. She held no disdain for the place. Heavens no. I think her frustration aligned more with just people not paying attention. But that was a subject for another day. Right now, she had to contend with Nikolas's offer to help her with any general maintenance around the property to repay her which confused her since she didn't remember doing anything that warranted that offer. She'd fallen on him due to not paying attention.

The look of confusion on her face was very obvious but as a manager, she had to stand her ground as there were rules regarding these sorts of things. Clearing her throat, she straightened her glasses up properly on her face again, her full focus on the man before her. Her stance was confident yet professional as she'd begun to speak. "Unfortunately Nikolas-san, I will have to decline that offer. It's not that I don't want to but that goes against policy allowing residents or even temporary guests to offer to help around the property. Well, that's not entirely untrue. We could but we'd have to properly pay you for your work. We can't just allow you to agree to do it for free. If that makes sense," Feodora explained while hoping she hadn't confused him. She didn't mind the idea of having extra help from people who wanted to work but she legally couldn't do it for free or it not being part of some voluntary program.

Nodding in understanding Nikolas smiled in a friendly way as he said, "Of course I understand Feodora-chan.
My door is always open if I can ever do anything.
"  He than took a deep sip of his coffee and inhaled the cool air.  It did do wonders for his hangover, not the worst he ever had, but strangley he found talking to Feodora a better source of relief.  He count quiet  explain it but he found an odd attraction to her, something he hadn't felt in awhile.

Sighing he sat down in a chair to finish his coffee and watch her work, hoping to God she wasn't bothered by his presence. It had been awhile since he was speaking to a woman who wasn't swooning over his Rock star persona.  So it was with great difficulty he found himself looking for a topic to discuss with her so as to not sound like a total tool.  Deciding that bring direct was the better choice of Valor.  Nikolas looked up at Feodora and asked, "How long has your family owned the hotel Feodora?"

Despite the blush that appeared on her face when Nikolas addressed her so casually by "Feodora-chan", she couldn't help but find humor in his statement of assuming that her family owned the Amestia Inn. For that, she chuckled while placing one of her hands against her face as she stared at the man with her head tilted. She would guess by looking at her, most would assume her family would be the owners of the inn but thankfully they aren't. That would be a PR nightmare for her. She'd never be able to actively do what she specifically wanted to ensure that everyone who stayed there whether as a resident or a guest just in town for a bit to stay comfortably. There would be so many strict rules that it'd make her head hurt. Her stepmother would definitely have her hand in trying to decide everything and that was definitely something that Feodora hadn't wanted.

She may have been born into a rich family but her accomplishments were all her own and not theirs. Unfortunately, her father and stepmother seemed to not acknowledge it. Which was fine because working and managing the inn made Feodora happy. And the only one that would stop by to visit her would be her younger brother Yuuto. If the others started doing it, she'd have to question whether or not they were okay. As it would be completely out of the norm for the rest of them to care about what she does. Again, unless it was her stepmother who actively seemed to like constantly asking when Feodora would settle down and find a mate. She wasn't particularly looking but would be happy all the same if she managed to find someone. When that would be, she had no idea. Not that she hadn't gotten compliments here and there on how beautiful she looked. That was nice to hear sometimes.

But with that thought in mind, her mind shifted back to how Nikolas addressed her despite having just met her and the same with him. She wasn't sure why she blushed when he addressed her as such. It wasn't that unusual. 'So why does it seem a little different with him then?' she wondered, clearing her throat to speak as she realized that she'd been quiet for too long and hadn't answered Nikolas's questions. "Well, my family doesn't own the hotel and neither do I. I'm just a regular manager here as I stated earlier," she informed him. But humorously she decided to tease him to lighten the mood. "Do I really look that much like someone from a family that could own this place?" she asked with a light laugh.
