Just Breathe (Open/Mature)
« on: March 12, 2022, 05:41:58 pm »
Tonight wasn’t the greatest for Bridget. Like any Alpha, he was having to deal with his Rut, which was something the blonde young man never focused heavily on. He couldn’t touch anyone without believing his powers would hurt them so it wasn’t a priority for him to seek out someone to mate with, so to speak. Of course, he was the same as any average person that needed release but how was he able to do that when his mind was constantly focused on harming someone or himself? His grandfather thought it best that he should take care of his Rut properly: by going to a Heat House. As he was turning down a lot of potential candidates as mates and taking care of his Ruts alone, the man felt this was the only solution for his grandson. At least so he could know what it was like to engage in a physical relationship. He didn’t want his grandson ignoring his needs and putting himself and others in further danger by simply being around him. Most of the time, he never noticed if he released his scent. He would always refrain from doing so. No one around him ever said anything so Bridget assumed he wasn’t inconveniencing anyone. Bridget wasn’t against the idea of using a Heat House. He had sided with the idea of having Heat Houses provided for everyone, including special case individuals and the most famous place out of all of them in the city was the Amestia House.

He’d gotten a look at the place before, spoken with those in charge of running the place, and gotten to know those that were willing to work there and provided special care to those who needed it. It would seem there were a lot of new faces that worked there compared to the last time Bridget has been here. If only for a professional reason the first time and not a reason being out of necessity. No one had ever complained about the place and the services provided were always topnotch from the reviews it had. They provided all sorts of after-care surfaces for everyone, tailored to the needs of every specific person. Even so, Bridget personally never saw himself going to a Heat House during his Rut. He always stayed home. Like he wanted to do but his grandfather insisted otherwise. His grandfather didn’t like that he was avoiding people and thus this arrangement for him to be here at the Amestia House tonight was not of his own accord. He wasn’t avoiding people because he wanted to but rather for their own protection. Despite his reasoning, his grandfather was laying it on thick that he couldn’t keep using that as an excuse anymore. So he was here in a building around other people which Bridget found to be a very bad idea. He felt himself becoming fidgety from the moment he arrived, up to where he’d been placed in a room where he sat alone to wait for someone to come to him.

All he could do was sit on the edge of the bed anxiously while twiddling his thumbs. His fear, those nagging thoughts, were clouding his mind. He could hardly focus on wanting to do anything or allowing anyone to touch him. He didn’t request for anyone specific since he didn’t set this up. All of this was done for him. So he hadn’t a clue who was going to come into the room. The room itself wasn’t large by any means. Small but not to where it felt cramped. It had the visible essentials provided that, again, would allow Bridget to take care of things himself but was in a sense “forced” to engage in some form of physical intimacy. Never before had he been with anyone as for the longest time he was just used to pleasuring himself when he needed to. It was rather embarrassing to openly admit something such as that but Bridget never had issues with the idea of self-pleasure. It would seem others around him that knew it’s what he’d done had a problem with it. But they were never understanding of his feelings about his powers acting on their own. It’s happened before and the limiter bracelets he wore around his wrists could only do so much to keep his powers in check. He sighed, continuing to sit on the bed while tapping his foot anxiously. Sweat had begun to perspire around his neck, along with the feelings of tiredness. The usual signs of his Rut beginning to affect him.

He didn’t have to wait much longer as the door opened and in came a beautiful young woman with dark brown hair that had quite a lot of volume to it. She was wearing a simple lingerie outfit that shockingly wasn’t revealing, much to Bridget’s surprise. Though it was her hair he took notice of more than it was what she was wearing. His mind was too focused on other things to pay attention to anything else about her. She was a striking woman but the general presence of another person in the room with him just made him more anxious. He was unsure if the woman noticed but it would seem as if she hadn’t since she wasted no time in making her way toward him and sitting beside him on the bed while flashing a warm smile. She then placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Bridget assumed it was to calm him down but all it did was made him flinch out of habit at the contact. He felt bad about that and hoped she wouldn’t be upset with him about it. “Relax, it’s okay,” she spoke in a soothing tone, “it’s okay for you to be nervous. I just want to assure you that you have nothing to worry about. I won’t do anything that you don’t want to do,” she assured him, her smile remained despite that he flinched when she touched him. She didn’t let this get to her. The comfort of the residents was more important. “My name is Honoka. I’ll be the one taking care of you during your Rut.”

Honoka was sweet. Bridget could see this and appreciated it. Personally, he wasn’t feeling where this was going to lead to. All he could think about was how scared he felt about hurting this poor woman with his powers unintentionally. That’s all his mind was on, but his body was responding differently to how he mentally felt. This showed with him sweating more than he was earlier, along with his breathing becoming shakier. Honoka saw this and carefully began to lean Bridget back against the bed, thinking this would help him relax a little more. All it did was take the blonde by surprise, making him blink a few times in surprise. Honoka may have said she wouldn’t do anything that he didn’t want to do but he couldn’t help but be unsure about that. Moreso when she began unbuttoning his jacket and shirt, exposing his chest to her as she’d begun running her fingers up and down his slightly chiseled muscles. Bridget wasn’t expecting that either. Honoka did surprisingly keep her word that she wouldn’t do more than what she said and despite doing this, Bridget found himself unable to respond to it. Not because he hadn’t wanted to. No, because she took it upon herself to start with this without asking if she could. She kept her ministrations going, albeit very slowly, steady smiling down at him with that sweet smile of hers. All Bridget could do was look away, gripping the covers on the bed with both hands as he tried his best to control his anxiety.

Try … to stay calm. You’re not … going to … hurt her … you’re not… Bridget thought, trying his best to calm himself down, yet his thoughts kept going. But I … don’t want to do this … with anyone … it isn’t fair … that I … just can’t… The attempt to calm himself down wasn’t working and it showed with the expression he had currently displayed on his face. He was clearly distressed.

Honoka noticed this and proceeded to lay fully beside Bridget, steady caressing his chest with her fingers, her way of trying to calm him down. Get his mind focused properly to not look so scared. She’d been informed of who he was and because she’d decided to be the one to assist him during his Rut, she was not going to do anything unfavorable that would make the Amestia House look bad. Especially considering who Bridget was. That was the main reason why she insisted on being allowed to care for him during his time of need. She’d never gotten an important clientele before and having this opportunity, she was going to do her best to give him everything he needed, wanted, and more. So that he’ll request her all the time. But little did she know, she was in for a rude awakening. “Try to relax, okay? I’m only doing this for now and just waiting for you to tell me when to proceed further,” she assured him, her smile ever-present with her gaze cast down upon him.

The limiter bracelets had already compiled so much output of Bridget's power already to a point they couldn't hold any of it. The very thing that Bridget feared would happen. Whether he wanted it to or not. As Honoka glided her hand down the blonde's chest slowly, doing so created an electrical spark of friction with her being in close contact with Bridget. She only wanted to show him a good time, make him feel good and not so scared, thinking that things were going well. She didn't feel that spark of friction at first but the more she kept caressing Bridget's chest, the stronger that friction became until her hand had been completely shocked by black electricity out of the blue, causing her to cry out in pain as she sat up quickly and held onto her hand which now was shown with her skin damaged by the effect of Bridget's powers. Bridget had sat up as well, not even realizing that his powers had acted on their own since he wasn't looking at her. He could only feel her touching him. But he saw her clutching her hand in extreme pain, tears falling down the sides of her face as Honoka cried softly while trying to figure out what'd just happened.

But Bridget didn't even have to ask what'd happened or if Honoka was okay. He could tell by looking at her hand that she wasn't. That was going to leave a permanent scar and he felt so horrible about that. He had to get out of here. Despite his tiredness and sweating all over, he stood up immediately, while bowing apologetically to the woman, his expression more distressed because of the situation. He was surprised no one heard her scream and wondered if the rooms were soundproof. That was a possibility. "I'm ... I'm so sorry this happened! It wasn't on purpose, I promise it's just ... my powers ... they always do this and I didn't ... want to risk hurting anyone and yet ... I have, I'm so very sorry!" he stood up straight, his tears running down his face but his eyes never left Honoka's hand and the marking she'd now have on her skin. "Please don't hate me... I'm so ... very sorry!" he apologized one last time before bolting toward the door to leave. If his powers could do that much damage to someone's hand, he didn't want to be here to see anyone else getting hurt because of them.

Quickly once out of the room, Bridget ran as fast as he could to get out of the building. He'd come back later to give a proper apology to Honoka and pay for her injuries but he couldn't stay there and attempt to help her while knowing he would only just hurt her again. He'd ran so fast out of the Amestia House that he'd given no one a chance to ask him if anything was alright. He just left and kept running as fast as he could into the darkness. Having no idea of where he wanted to go except to get as far away from there and stay away from people as possible. His distress and anxiety, both were making his powers react and the moment he finally decided to stop running and placed his hand against a lamppost to stop and catch his breath, the light exploded immediately and the glass began to fall which Bridget reacted quickly to get out of the way as to not get harmed if only falling back on the ground in the process. The glass fell on the ground in pieces and scattered in one spot and all Bridget could do was sit there on the ground horrified and feeling helpless. He couldn't even touch anything that was sensitive to being overloaded with electricity. How the hell ... was he going to get home or even call for help ...?

Kuri hadn't too long ago just gotten in from her shift at work. Very much enjoyed the job she had working at a small nit arcade. Not an ideal job but it was fun and she got discounts to play the games as many times as she wanted. On top of drinks and food being half-priced for employees. Always a bonus. She's been able to hold the job for over a year and would occasionally refer her classmates to hang out there if they wanted. They had a lot of retro and current games to play and it was always a blast. Maybe the occasional customer would complain about their child not winning anything but games were made to be a challenge for a reason. Nothing in life is free. Of course, as an employee, Kuri couldn't say that and had to word what she say appropriately as to not offend the customers and upset them more than they already were.

Kuri wished she could be honest with them but there was a time and place for it. She would just calmly explain that no discounts can be given if customers lose the games. Only if the games were broken and just ate the money but didn't start the game, that's usually the only time those were issued out and even then it was rare. But when it happened, Kuri always made sure a sign was put on the games that were out of order for customers to know not to attempt to play them. Overall, a fun job that had its moments. And she was able to balance with her current school schedule since she only worked a four-hour late shift that started in the afternoon and she left at eight in the evening. She still had time to do any homework she had and eat dinner. Her sister usually worked later than she did and had no issues with her having a job so long as she could handle it. And Kuri could. It's not as if she had anything else to do outside of strumming some tunes on her bass guitar, listening to music, or playing video games.

And when she had all the free time to spare, she'd shoot her friend Bridget a message to see if he was free and if not, check on him to see how he was doing. An interesting guy he was. Kuri still knew nothing about his line of work which he still seemed reluctant to tell her about. She'd only ever asked a few times but he never wanted to say. So she didn't push out of respect. He'll tell her eventually when he was ready to. They've become good friends for the past two years and she's been providing him emotional support regarding his powers. The brunette really wanted to ask her sister about what she should do but instead, she just inquired about a few ideas from her sister's friend Rebecca. The two of them also became close friends as well and she should be if not close to almost being finished soon with university and graduating sometime soon. Kuri's sister was supposed to finish a year and a half ago but Anzu had decided to take a year off to focus on herself.

As long as she was sticking with her counseling, that's all that mattered to Kuri. She was progressing but then regressing at the same time. In a way, Bridget reminded her of her sister. They were similar in dealing with the emotional trauma that's holding them back. Kuri wanted to do more for both of them but she was the only person who could do so much. With a sigh, she went into her bedroom, closing the door behind her as she began checking her phone and dropping her back to the side next to her tv stand. Just some text from various friends from school and her sister informing her she would be coming in late tonight and that was it. Kuri hadn't texted Bridget in a couple of days and wondered what he was up to and if work was going okay for him. With that thought having crossed her mind, she decided to shoot the male a quick text before sitting her phone on her nightstand by her bed and started removing her gloves and jacket. Despite it being March and coming close to April, they were still having random cold fronts on rare occasions. But at least this would be the last of it according to the weather. Kuri couldn't wait for some warmer weather.

She then made herself comfortable on her bed, plopping down on it on her stomach while reaching for the remote and turning the tv on to check and see if there was anything interesting to watch in the meantime.

Bridget stayed seated on the ground, too tired to move. He'd expended most of his energy in running as far as he could away from the Amestia House and he didn't have it in him to return. Not right now. That sudden rush of adrenaline he had to get away, he was now pouring in sweat from it. His Rut kicked in more and more despite him trying his best to keep his mind together. But his thoughts were everywhere. After damaging the lamppost, he knew he couldn't use his phone to call for help or even a cab to get him home and away from the area to avoid drawing attention to anyone. The last thing he wanted. The odds were not in his favor tonight. A woman appeared out of nowhere and approached him. He hadn't heard anyone in the area so he was wondering where she'd come from. Well, he only "killed" one lamppost, the others were still working perfectly fine as long as he didn't touch them. He kept his hands firmly on the ground beside him, though they were trembling.

It was then he'd heard his phone going off. The notification sound was set to play a bell-like tune whenever he had any incoming messages. The problem was that he knew if he tried to touch his phone, his powers would overload the battery in it and cause it to go out. Someone would try to contact him and an inconvenient time but nevertheless, it did remind him that he had his phone on him and didn't leave it back at the Amestia House. He didn't have the courage to go back there. He couldn't go back there. Not right now. But whoever was texting him, he had to figure out a way to respond without his powers overloading the battery. The thought came to him at the last minute but he'd removed his jacket off slowly or rather, he was struggling to remove it. Once off, he turned it upside down and began to carefully shake everything out of the pockets and the items in question began to spill out on the ground. His wallet, phone, and stylus pen are all in a small pile together. His hands continued to tremble but he quickly grabbed the stylus pen and gently tapped the screen of his few a few times with it to get it to light up.

Without getting his hand too close to it, he used it to unlock his phone to get to his messages. With one hand, he dried his face with the sleeve of his shirt while using the other to work through answering the message he got, all while panting tiredly. He knew it was dangerous for anyone to be around him in this situation but he didn't have any other options. He'd hoped it was his grandfather contacting him as the man often does but to Bridget's surprise it wasn't. It was actually Kuri whom he hadn't messaged or called in a couple of days. He felt bad for not doing that but it was too personal to tell her that he was dealing with his Rut and wouldn't be able to speak with her for a while. From the looks of it, she was checking in on him which in his current situation, he definitely appreciated that. However, he couldn't focus too much on it as his face became more flushed and despite feeling warm and hot all over, the cold breeze that blew, he felt it and immediately closed his shirt as he tried his best to respond to the young woman's text. He couldn't lie to her and he didn't want to sit here all night being afraid to touch anything. He had to ask for help and so, that's what Bridget had done. He'd sent a response to Kuri's first message informing her that he wasn't feeling well. It was an emergency and could she help him.

Once he'd sent it. He'd placed the stylus down on the ground beside him while trying to keep himself from breaking down again. He was thankful that the area in which he was in, was pretty vacant and there wasn't anyone passing by or had apparently heard the lamppost break. For now, he was in the clear. All he had to do was wait a little bit longer. For how much longer, he didn't know...

Kuri had been flipping through channels until she’d finally settled on a channel that was just playing a random movie that she didn’t recognize. It gave leeway for her to do something else while it played in the background, which she’d slid off her bed and walked toward her closet to pull out her bass guitar. She’d gotten a lot better at playing it, constructing better sounds and progressions with it to create the type of music she enjoyed. Her music classes in school helped with that, and she maintained keeping up with her practicing until she got better at it. With her instrument in hand, the brunette-haired young woman plopped herself back down on her bed, her legs crossed Indian style as she positioned her guitar properly and began to play or rather lightly strum a song from one of her favorite rock bands, Metallica. Normally, she’d do this with an amp, but given how late it already was, it would be rude to plug that up and disturb the other residents that stayed at the inn.

She hadn’t wanted to do that, so instead, she settled for not using the amp. At first, she wasn’t very good at playing without it and the sounds that came from her bass guitar made it sound as if something was dying, and Kuri definitely wanted to fix that. She wasn’t perfect by any means, but a lot better than she was for the sounds were cohesive enough to be recognizable. And considering the song she was playing from a particular group, no one her age would know it unless they were doing a deep dive into older music and the appreciation for it. She did grow up in an era in which music was still relatively good, for the most part. That is until it all went straight to hell as of the current year. It went from having a lot of great songs from the West coming out to maybe one or two decent ones throughout the entire year being good. Kuri was looking to explore other types of music besides just music from the West but that meant upping the difficulty level and she wasn’t there yet or ready for it. That’s what university was for. She needed to prepare herself sooner but she wanted to enjoy what time she had left as a senior in high school before eventually graduating.

It’d at least give her more time to make an informed decision on what she wanted to study, for how long, and more importantly, would it be worth it. She knew her sister would be supportive no matter what but part of her felt bad what if she was able to achieve the things she wanted while her sister couldn’t? I shouldn’t think that but I worry that nee-san will get more overprotective than she already is if I move just a little further than her. That … worries me so much,’ Kuri thought with a sigh while lightly strumming on her guitar. Her focus had been broken after a couple of minutes when she heard her phone go off. Setting the instrument to the side of her bed, reaching over to grab it, and checking her messages. Kuri honestly assumed that it was her sister telling her that she was going to come home a little earlier than normal which would be nice. She could use the break from working late. She didn’t have to but sometimes, she believed her sister wanted to without admitting it.

To her surprise though, it wasn’t her sister sending her a message but it was a message from Bridget. She couldn’t help but blink in surprise at this and immediately opened the text to see what it said. What she’d sent him earlier was short and simple. Checking in to see if he was okay and wishing him well with his work. However, his response to her message wasn’t what she was expecting. Her expression went from being hopeful and happy to one of dread, with her hand placed over her mouth. Oh no, Bridget...’ The man clearly wasn’t having a very good night if he’d managed to text her. The text had a few spelling errors in it which indicated that he struggled to send it. Immediately, she dialed Bridget’s number, hoping that he was able to answer it. If he was stranded wherever he was, it was dangerous for him to be out in his condition. She had to go and help him but first, she needed to know where he was in order to get to him. “Come Bridget, pick up,” Kuri mumbled worriedly. He’s stuck somewhere and dealing with his Rut at the same time. I have to find him and get him someplace safe…

Bridget had struggled but managed to grab the items that were in his jacket pocket with his jacket and stagger his way toward the nearest wall. He slid back down into a sitting position, panting tiredly as another wave of heat was washing over his entire body. His hands were shaky and sweaty, more sweat had perspired around his neck as sat on the ground with his back against the wall. Trying to avoid touching anything electrical with his hands. He didn't want to blow up any more lampposts accidentally or kill his phone since he was waiting for Kuri to respond. He'd hoped she would. If not, he could call his secretary to come and get him. Besides, what was going on with him wasn't Kuri's problem. But since she had texted to check up on him, he personally felt it made sense to respond to tell her what was going on.

It was then he'd heard his phone go off. He'd thought it was a text at first but tiredly looking down at his phone in his jacket, he'd seen it was a phone call instead. Kuri was calling him. He didn't know if he was functional enough to take the call but it was better than nothing. He grabbed the stylus pen that'd rolled into the sleeve of his jacket and shakily pressed answer to accept the call. "K-Kuri..." he replied in a tired tone, sniffling as he tried to keep himself calm enough to speak to her. "I'm ... so very sorry to bother you," he immediately apologized to her. "Can you help me? Please? I feel ... if I tried to move, I won't make it on my own," he admitted to her, pleaded desperately.

"Bridget!" Kuri exclaimed worriedly when the male finally answered his phone. The first thing he did when was apologize to her and pleaded for her to help him. He sounded so desperate that her heart sunk as she frowned. She hated to think it but she was grateful that her sister hadn't returned to their room yet, otherwise she wouldn't be able to come to the decision she'd had. "I'm on my way. Just tell me where you are and I'll come there, okay?" she told him as she began quickly rummaging through her closet for a pair of shoes to throw on quickly and a jacket while going around her room to grab some things to take with her and shove it in her backpack. The main items she grabbed were her room key, her wallet, and a scent-blocking mask. She didn't know how strong Bridget's scent was but she wasn't unfamiliar with the idea of an Alpha's scent being its strongest during their Rut.

There was no way she could bring him back to the room that she and her sister shared together. That only left one other option was to temporarily purchase an empty room for as long as she felt Bridget would need it. All she knew was he had his phone on him. What she didn't know was if he had his wallet on him or not. Chances are, he could've accidentally left it from where he'd run away from. To be on the safe side, Kuri was bringing her own anyway. Once she'd gathered everything she was going to take with her, she immediately headed out of her room and out of the room itself, closing the door behind her. "Just hang on a little bit longer, okay? I'm going to take care of something first before I come to get you. But do stay on the phone with me if you can. I'm here," she reassured him as she quickly went downstairs to the front desk.

Kuri did her best to keep Bridget on the line while she spoke with the front desk associate about getting another room, explaining that she had to go get a friend who would need it and fudging the truth about them having gotten lost along the way. Whether or not the associate believed the brunette was up for debate but she didn't have time to ponder on it. When prompted to pay, she pulled out her debit card and inserted it into the card reader. Once the purchase had been processed, she'd been given a receipt and the keycard to the room she'd got which she'd selected an available one on the second floor and thanked the associate before heading out. She made sure to check in with Bridget to see if he was still on the line. "Bridget, are you still there? Tell me where you are!"

Bridget stayed on the phone, never hanging up. He just made sure to keep his hands away from it during the entire duration of the call. Kuri had immediately asked him where he was and she'd come to get him. Thinking about that, he didn't know exactly where he was. He just knew he ran away from the Amestia House after what'd happened and got as far as the nearest alleyway and the moment he'd stopped at a lamppost the thing exploded. He didn't take the time to look out for street signs to pinpoint his exact location. The only thing he was feeling was ashamed because he'd hurt someone and chances are, that woman would be upset with him for it. He felt terrible about it and did want to apologize. But he couldn't right now. Not in this state, this condition.

Reaching out to Kuri was a big risk but she was the only known friend he had since he was still struggling to make friends with others due to dealing with his powers and how they react at times. But he was happy that she answered despite feeling currently exhausted right now. His Rut was not doing him any favors. His scent was starting to release more and more. He knew pretty soon that his scent would attract anyone to his direction. So he had to figure out a way to fully explain to the brunette where he was so she'd be able to find him. He was about to tell her but he'd heard her speaking to someone, he wasn't sure who. He wasn't in the right mind to listen in fully on what the other girl was doing on her end, the blonde young man just knew that she was speaking with someone briefly before asking him again where he was once she was finished.

"I-I don't really know. I just ... ran away from the Amestia House," Bridget told her, his head leaned back against the wall, the feeling of being overwhelmed with so many emotions being mixed in with his Rut not helping him feel less anxious. Bridget was on edge. But he had to give more details to Kuri so she'd know where she was going. "I'm ... so sorry. I really wasn't looking at road names. I just ran somewhere and stopped to calm down but the lamppost I touched exploded. S-So, I'm somewhere there is one lamppost not working. And my scent ... is starting to release more. I apologize if that's not more helpful." He really wanted to give Kuri better directions but that was the best he could do. He just had to be patient a little while longer.

"Okay, the Amestia House. Got it. I'll try and find you as best I can. Try and stay on the line for me, Bridget. I will be there soon!" Kuri panted as she kept running and didn't stop. Bridget wasn't inaccurate when he stated that his directions in where he was so that she would be able to find him weren't helpful but at the same time, they were. Him running away from the Amestia House did give the brunette a small idea of where he was located. On top of that, he'd mentioned that his scent was released in the area in which he currently was. All she had to do was be mindful of the scent of an Alpha in a Rut and Bridget's scent was very familiar to her.

He'd only ever released it around her whenever he was nervous or scared. That said, Kuri believed it wouldn't take her long to locate where he was if she got a whiff of his scent and just followed it in the direction it was coming from. After running for five minutes, she'd reached the Amestia House where she'd seen an ambulance outside which caught her off guard as she'd taken a moment to stand there and watch to see what was going on. Bridget had told her he was there earlier but just what'd happened while he was there? Did someone get injured badly? There was a cop car there as well getting names and taking stories from the associates working there that they spoke with. Seeing this made the brunette feel scared that eventually, they were going to start canvassing the areas in search of Bridget.

With that in mind, Kuri wasted no time in quickly making herself unnoticeable and started running again to find him. She was already tired from running as far as she had, from the Amestia Inn to the Amestia House and now skulking about alleys in search of her friend. She made sure not to say anything out loud while keeping him on the phone. She could hear him breathing tiredly. He definitely sounded like he was struggling to hang on. It was difficult to recognize the roads and the area in the dark but what'd helped her is when she'd begun to smell his scent in the air. She didn't know how far away or close he was but she was definitely on the right track if she was able to catch wind of his scent. She'd hoped that the police didn't come searching for him which they more than likely will once they got all the information they needed.

The last thing Kuri knew Bridget needed, much less wanted was to be arrested. If something happened, she knew it had to be an accident. Bridget wouldn't intentionally hurt someone. But would any of them believe that thought? Kuri kept running, holding her phone close to her ear as she felt she got far enough away to check on Bridget again. "Bridget, I think I'm getting close to finding you. I can smell your scent. Are you okay? Please, tell me you're okay?" she pleaded with him.

Bridget had his head leaned back against the wall with his eyes closed, softly panting tiredly with his face flushed and his mind all over the place. He couldn't focus very well because his Rut had begun affecting him more, making him feel hotter and shaky. His breathing became heavier. What Bridget was feeling at this moment was a mixture of wanting to sleep but also just really wanting to be relieved and he couldn't bring himself to focus on either of those because his anxiety was overlapping it. Bridget's eyes may have been closed but he was fully awake. He was doing his best to try and calm his nerves, and enjoy the cool air outside even if he was sweating and hot all over so trying to enjoy a good breeze was difficult.

He was listening to Kuri as she spoke to him but he'd noticed for a brief moment, she grew silent but he'd heard other sounds in the background. He was too tired to make out what they were so he didn't ask. He just hoped that Kuri was okay trying to find him and hadn't gotten into any trouble. Bridget would feel so terrible if something happened to her because he'd begged her practically to help him. But as she'd asked him if he was okay and informed him that she believed she was close to where he was, it made him feel relieved that she was alright. Worrying less about himself and more about her. He opened his eyes, shifting to sit up a little more. He attempted to try and force himself to stand up slowly so that the young girl would be able to find him but he became instantly tired the moment he tried, dropping down on one knee while using the wall as leverage with his hand propped against it.

He felt overwhelmed with a sudden feeling of heat washing over him along with feeling his headache trying to grow, making him wince slightly. "I-I'm sorry. I'm ... fine ... just really tired," Bridget finally responded, steady struggling to speak given how he was feeling. "Um ... if you're close ... try and find a lamppost that's out. That's where I am," he told her.

Given that Kuri had a whiff of Bridget's scent, she was on the right track to finding him. That was a good thing. She just now had to look up and find an area where there was a lamp post out around others that were on. She didn't stop. She kept running. For she knew if she did, it wouldn't be long before the cops would leave the Amestia House and go looking for Bridget. Plus, with his scent in the air, it wouldn't be hard to find him because even she could tell that his scent was stronger than normal, indicating that he was in a Rut. Kuri didn't want to see Bridget get taken away over something that was an accident.

Not as if she wouldn't understand why they would want to take him in but it wasn't intentional that he hurt that person. The brunette knew that the man would never hurt anyone on purpose. He was always worried about doing so and there was no air of malice surrounding him. He was a very humble person with personal struggles that he needed to deal with. In the meantime, Kuri kept running and kept looking, following Bridget's scent as it got stronger and stronger the closer she ran. Eventually, she did see a lamppost out in a surrounding area with others that were still on. Wasting no time and despite being tired, she quickly moved on her feet and kept running until she'd turned a corner and was finally able to find Bridget. He was partially seated on the ground, appearing to be using the wall as leverage to stand or prop himself up but from what Kuri could tell, he wasn't injured.

He sounded exhausted and tired when hearing him speak but seeing him definitely showed that. Raising the phone back to her ear, she spoke softly and said, "Bridget, I'm here. Turn around." She hung up the phone and placed it in her pocket. She then attempted slowly to approach him while knowing it wasn't the time to daddle but she didn't want him freaking out and worrying that he'd harm her if she approached him too quickly. When she got close enough, she reached out her hand for him to take it. She'd do her best to get him to the Amestia Inn and checked into the room she'd purchased for him to stay for a couple of days but that was the most she could do was at least get him out of here and some place safe. "Take my hand, Bridget. It's okay. I'm going to help you get out of here. We ... kind of have to. I passed by the Amestia House on the way here and they had called the police. So we need to move and like now," she told him.

Bridget continued to wait for Kuri, his scent releasing and becoming stronger. It'd filled the air around him with his strong Alpha scent. Due to his Rut, he couldn't control it. He tried but his anxiety was high and his emotions were all over the place. It was hard to focus on trying to keep his scent from releasing and while he was worried it would attract unwanted attention, he knew freaking out more about it wouldn't amount to anything other than stressing him out further. The young man wanted to avoid doing that as best he could. So he continued to wait patiently.

More sweat began to perspire on his body, his panting continued to where he could see his breath in the cool air outside. He was glad when Kuri finally spoke and told him that she'd found him. Hearing her tell him to turn around, he partially did so tiredly, turning his head to look back and see the brunette-haired young woman standing there panting with exhaustion as she'd clearly ran the entire way without so much as stopping in order to find him. He gave a weary smile but inwardly, he felt guilty that she had to come out all this way. Yet at the same time, he was glad that she did. He didn't say anything at first and watched as Kuri slowly began to approach him and reached out her hand for him to take it so she could help him get out of there.

At first, he assumed she said that in regards to his scent being strong which he completely understood. However, that was not the case. Before she'd gotten here, she'd passed by the Amestia House and there had been cops called there which didn't surprise Bridget. He did apologize and he didn't mean to hurt that woman on purpose and he freaked out because of it. No doubt that they would be looking for him. He did have to get out of there. That's why he'd called Kuri. To help him do that. But that fear inside of him kept creeping up and though he'd attempted to take the young girl's hand when she'd offered it to him, he instantly brought his own back, his lips turning into a frown for he couldn't escape what he'd done and how he'd gotten into this situation in the first place. He didn't want to end up hurting Kuri. His bracelets may have had his bracelets on that kept his powers from not releasing at their full strength, he wasn't sure if they were active still and he just couldn't take that chance.

"I'm ... I'm sorry," Bridget apologized, clasping one hand over the other, feeling cautious and alert despite the dire situation he was in. "Th-thank you, for coming all this way to help me. I know this isn't your problem, Kuri but I ... I didn't have anyone else I could reach out to," he told her. This wasn't untrue. The only close friend he had was Kuri while others around him were either family or coworkers that he'd kept at an arm's distance.

Not unsure why but seeing Bridget act hesitant in taking her hand had set something off in Kuri. She wasn't sure what it was or why she felt this way but for some reason, her heart began pounding more, and the expression she wore was that of being completely done with people feeling sorry for themselves. She'd seen it for too long with her sister and with Bridget. She understood he was afraid and why but continuing to wallow in that fear wasn't going to help him to move on and be able to accept that the powers he has are a part of him. But the only way he was going to see that was by her having to open his eyes up to make him do it.

That said, she pulled her hand back, instead, she balled both of her hands into fists at her sides as she stared down at him with a serious expression. She was tired, tired from having run all the way here to get him, and now they didn't have any time to waste before the police would come to find him. There was no time for him to sit here and feel sorry for himself and the brunette refused to let him do that to himself. No more. "You're right, Bridget. It's not my problem. This problem is all yours. But you know why I came anyway to help you? Because you're my friend, Dammit! I ran all the way here to come get you because you needed me! But I can't ... I can't stand around and continue to watch people that I care about so much just live in their despair and not do anything about it, even when they have people around them that are helping them through everything, they steady ignore it. Like what you're doing now."

With no hesitation, Kuri reached forward and took one of Bridget's hands into her own and held onto it tightly, refusing to let go and to show him that she isn't afraid of him. She knows he's used to people he's hurt unintentionally being afraid of him which causes him to be afraid of himself. Kuri was not this person. She'd been through too much hell to sit around and constantly live in it as if that was her life now when it wasn't. She is proof that someone can move on from what they've been through and Bridget is no different. She knew that he could do it. And her eyes never left him as she'd taken his hand and her expression didn't change either. "I'm not afraid of you, Bridget. I've never been afraid of you. If you really wanted to hurt me, then you would but I have faith in you that you can control yourself just enough to not do so. I've seen you do it even if you've never realized you were doing it, the times we hung out together, your mind for a short period of time was not on your powers. They were on the fact that we were just out having fun." Shaking her hand, she now wrapped her other hand around his, making sure that he wouldn't pull away from her as she now had tears running down the sides of her face.

"I'll be there for you as I said I would. That hasn't changed and it won't change now. But Bridget ... you have to stop being afraid of your powers. If you're always thinking and worrying about how they're going to hurt people if you touch them, then that's what they'll do. Your powers, I think ... they're tied to how you're feeling and because you can't reel in your emotions, your powers become active whether you want them to or not. However, as I said, I don't think you'd hurt me and I am not afraid of you. These powers are yours, Bridget. They're not going anywhere and they're a part of you forever. So accept that and accept them. Just as I already have. If you don't I ... I don't want to imagine what would happen to you if there was a day I couldn't help you. So please Bridget! Get up and come with me so we can get out of here!" Kuri cried.

Bridget wasn't prepared for what'd happen next. No, a part of him was. He'd expected Kuri to become upset with him and that is just what she'd done. But while she was upset with him, at the same time, she was also trying to encourage him which wasn't something he'd expected. Her being upset and not wanting anything more to do with him because he keeps retrieving back into himself to hide in a sense, sure. Yet the opposite happened. She chastised him and then grabbed his hand into her own which he wanted to pull away because he believed his powers were still active and could easily end up hurting the brunette. That was not something he'd wanted to do. He didn't want to hurt her.

He wanted to protest to protect her but instead, she kept talking to him. Her eyes never left him as she'd told him she wouldn't leave his side. More importantly, he had to accept himself and his powers. Bridget wanted to, so much but he didn't know if he could. He was truly afraid to do so because he felt they would always react and harm others no matter how much he would train and practice controlling them. Even with the bracelets, he wore that were for the sole purpose of making sure his powers didn't come out in full force, they would still activate whether he wanted them to or not. That was why he was so afraid of them. No, maybe what he was really afraid of ... was himself ... And until now ... he hadn't really thought about that.

Bridget's gaze met with Kuri's eyes, saddened and feeling guilty for making her cry and worry about him. He felt so guilty that he couldn't help but cry himself, leaning forward to press his head against her hands while mentally taking his time to raise his other hand and place it atop of hers. He was still scared. He didn't believe that was going to change immediately but he didn't want to worry Kuri anymore. Deep down, Bridget wanted to stop being scared of hurting others. The only way that was going to happen for him was him accepting his powers and himself. Just as the brunette had stated she'd already accepted him and his powers, he needed to do the same. Despite the tears that ran down the sides of his face, his lips formed into a small smile and for a brief moment, his scent was able to calm down from releasing a little bit. "You're right, Kuri," he finally spoke, breaking the silence between them as he sniffled.

He slowly raised his head to look up at her and just, for now, his mind wasn't focused on his powers. Instead, they were focused on having upset his friend. And he understood why she was upset and hadn't wanted to make things worse. She came all this way because he was the one that reached out to her. Pushing her away was only making things worse for both of them. Bridget hadn't wanted to do that. "I've been very selfish and thinking only of myself and I didn't once think about how you felt. You didn't have to come and help me but you did and I am grateful. S-So, please don't give up on me," he softly pleaded with her, lowering his head again but in apology.

Kuri gave a sigh of relief, happy that Bridget listened to her. She didn't expect it to be easy and she knew it would be a struggle for him to accept himself and the powers he has without being afraid of him, but she meant every word. She wasn't afraid of him. And she wasn't going to let him dig himself into a deeper hole filled with despair, worrying about hurting people. She knew he was conscious enough to be aware that he didn't want to hurt someone, he just needed to reign in his emotions enough so he wouldn't do that. And he had done so, proving her right. She could tell by scenting him, that he'd been able to calm himself down.

At least enough to where they could both get out of here. Despite her tears, she was able to form a smile as she then knelt down in front of him, steady holding her hands over his and he'd done the same with his free hand placed on top of hers. "Arigatou, Bridget," she replied in a soft tone, "You don't have to worry. I'm not going to give up on you. Not ever. You made the first step in trying to accept your powers and you just have to keep doing that. And don't worry, I'll be there for you no matter what. You just can't keep giving up when things happen. Own up to what happens and work through it. Running away solves nothing," she told him sternly as she stood up again, slowly and not releasing Bridget's hand. "You ready to get out of here?" she asked him.

Just in case the police decided to investigate, Bridget was still at risk of being taken in by them. And in his condition, that wouldn't be possible. They can be dealt with later. Right now, he needed to be indoors to deal with his Rut however he needed to. He can't do that if he's being held in lock up. "I bought a room for you to stay in for a couple of days at the Amestia Inn where I live. And if you want, I'll stick around and help you out in case you need anything. It's just temporary though. I'll do what I can to get you anything you need to assist you with your Rut but I ... will stay out of your way so I won't be too much of a bother," Kuri informed him. It was a risk bringing him there, given what happened, the quickest way to get back was the way she'd run to and from to get to him. However, there was a shortcut that was just a weird longer distance that required cutting through the alleyways. And as long as Bridget could keep his scent under control until they reach the inn, they should be good.

There were too many risks but Kuri refused to leave Bridget on his own. Not when he needed her. As she told him, she'd assist with anything minor and get him any materials he needed since what he needed to take care of his Rut wouldn't be fully present in that room. She'd literally have to go out late and buy things for him from places that were still currently open at this hour. Other than that, she would leave him be and let him rest. Being there on standby. After all, he didn't need her for his Rut and that would be inappropriate to ask. That and there was that lingering feeling of knowing she wouldn't be able to look at him the same way if anything outside of friendship happened between them. Kuri never expected it. She was more than happy to be Bridget's friend. Right now, he needed that and the emotional support that came with having one more than, well, what he really needed.

Bridget blinked a few times in surprise when she'd told them that she'd paid for a room for him to stay in at the Amestia Inn. He didn't think it was a good idea for him to go there either. If the police were at the Amestia House, more than likely, they'd look for him there to question him and find out what happened. Chances are, they wouldn't believe that he didn't do it on purpose. He had no reason to hurt anybody. He just ... didn't want to be there. Was that a bad thing to not desire to be somewhere you don't want to be at the bequest of someone else? He wasn't sure what to think anymore.

He did feel bad that Kuri had to use her money to pay for a room though. He'd have never asked her to do that but she willingly did it on her own. It had to have been what she was doing earlier when he'd heard her speaking to someone but wasn't really listening due to being out of it like he was. "So that's what you were doing earlier," he said, "you didn't have to do that but ... thank you, Kuri." Bridget slowly began to push himself up on his feet which is also when he realized the things that were inside of his jacket were still laid out on the ground beside it, his gaze shifting in that direction. He didn't want to leave that stuff behind. The last thing he wanted was for someone to get a hold of his phone or his wallet with all his personal information in it.

Unlike most, he wasn't ashamed to ask for help in this case. Afraid to hurt someone, again, with his powers but not afraid to ask for help when he needed it. Plus, Kuri was still holding his hands, possibly fearing he'd push her away. He wasn't. Bridget was going to reassure her so the young woman wouldn't have to worry. "I'm ready to go. C-Can you grab my things off the ground for me?" he asked her.
