Shouta Akimoto:
Tonight wasn’t the greatest for Bridget. Like any Alpha, he was having to deal with his Rut, which was something the blonde young man never focused heavily on. He couldn’t touch anyone without believing his powers would hurt them so it wasn’t a priority for him to seek out someone to mate with, so to speak. Of course, he was the same as any average person that needed release but how was he able to do that when his mind was constantly focused on harming someone or himself? His grandfather thought it best that he should take care of his Rut properly: by going to a Heat House. As he was turning down a lot of potential candidates as mates and taking care of his Ruts alone, the man felt this was the only solution for his grandson. At least so he could know what it was like to engage in a physical relationship. He didn’t want his grandson ignoring his needs and putting himself and others in further danger by simply being around him. Most of the time, he never noticed if he released his scent. He would always refrain from doing so. No one around him ever said anything so Bridget assumed he wasn’t inconveniencing anyone. Bridget wasn’t against the idea of using a Heat House. He had sided with the idea of having Heat Houses provided for everyone, including special case individuals and the most famous place out of all of them in the city was the Amestia House.

He’d gotten a look at the place before, spoken with those in charge of running the place, and gotten to know those that were willing to work there and provided special care to those who needed it. It would seem there were a lot of new faces that worked there compared to the last time Bridget has been here. If only for a professional reason the first time and not a reason being out of necessity. No one had ever complained about the place and the services provided were always topnotch from the reviews it had. They provided all sorts of after-care surfaces for everyone, tailored to the needs of every specific person. Even so, Bridget personally never saw himself going to a Heat House during his Rut. He always stayed home. Like he wanted to do but his grandfather insisted otherwise. His grandfather didn’t like that he was avoiding people and thus this arrangement for him to be here at the Amestia House tonight was not of his own accord. He wasn’t avoiding people because he wanted to but rather for their own protection. Despite his reasoning, his grandfather was laying it on thick that he couldn’t keep using that as an excuse anymore. So he was here in a building around other people which Bridget found to be a very bad idea. He felt himself becoming fidgety from the moment he arrived, up to where he’d been placed in a room where he sat alone to wait for someone to come to him.

All he could do was sit on the edge of the bed anxiously while twiddling his thumbs. His fear, those nagging thoughts, were clouding his mind. He could hardly focus on wanting to do anything or allowing anyone to touch him. He didn’t request for anyone specific since he didn’t set this up. All of this was done for him. So he hadn’t a clue who was going to come into the room. The room itself wasn’t large by any means. Small but not to where it felt cramped. It had the visible essentials provided that, again, would allow Bridget to take care of things himself but was in a sense “forced” to engage in some form of physical intimacy. Never before had he been with anyone as for the longest time he was just used to pleasuring himself when he needed to. It was rather embarrassing to openly admit something such as that but Bridget never had issues with the idea of self-pleasure. It would seem others around him that knew it’s what he’d done had a problem with it. But they were never understanding of his feelings about his powers acting on their own. It’s happened before and the limiter bracelets he wore around his wrists could only do so much to keep his powers in check. He sighed, continuing to sit on the bed while tapping his foot anxiously. Sweat had begun to perspire around his neck, along with the feelings of tiredness. The usual signs of his Rut beginning to affect him.

He didn’t have to wait much longer as the door opened and in came a beautiful young woman with dark brown hair that had quite a lot of volume to it. She was wearing a simple lingerie outfit that shockingly wasn’t revealing, much to Bridget’s surprise. Though it was her hair he took notice of more than it was what she was wearing. His mind was too focused on other things to pay attention to anything else about her. She was a striking woman but the general presence of another person in the room with him just made him more anxious. He was unsure if the woman noticed but it would seem as if she hadn’t since she wasted no time in making her way toward him and sitting beside him on the bed while flashing a warm smile. She then placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Bridget assumed it was to calm him down but all it did was made him flinch out of habit at the contact. He felt bad about that and hoped she wouldn’t be upset with him about it. “Relax, it’s okay,” she spoke in a soothing tone, “it’s okay for you to be nervous. I just want to assure you that you have nothing to worry about. I won’t do anything that you don’t want to do,” she assured him, her smile remained despite that he flinched when she touched him. She didn’t let this get to her. The comfort of the residents was more important. “My name is Honoka. I’ll be the one taking care of you during your Rut.”

Honoka was sweet. Bridget could see this and appreciated it. Personally, he wasn’t feeling where this was going to lead to. All he could think about was how scared he felt about hurting this poor woman with his powers unintentionally. That’s all his mind was on, but his body was responding differently to how he mentally felt. This showed with him sweating more than he was earlier, along with his breathing becoming shakier. Honoka saw this and carefully began to lean Bridget back against the bed, thinking this would help him relax a little more. All it did was take the blonde by surprise, making him blink a few times in surprise. Honoka may have said she wouldn’t do anything that he didn’t want to do but he couldn’t help but be unsure about that. Moreso when she began unbuttoning his jacket and shirt, exposing his chest to her as she’d begun running her fingers up and down his slightly chiseled muscles. Bridget wasn’t expecting that either. Honoka did surprisingly keep her word that she wouldn’t do more than what she said and despite doing this, Bridget found himself unable to respond to it. Not because he hadn’t wanted to. No, because she took it upon herself to start with this without asking if she could. She kept her ministrations going, albeit very slowly, steady smiling down at him with that sweet smile of hers. All Bridget could do was look away, gripping the covers on the bed with both hands as he tried his best to control his anxiety.

’Try … to stay calm. You’re not … going to … hurt her … you’re not…’ Bridget thought, trying his best to calm himself down, yet his thoughts kept going. ’But I … don’t want to do this … with anyone … it isn’t fair … that I … just can’t…’ The attempt to calm himself down wasn’t working and it showed with the expression he had currently displayed on his face. He was clearly distressed.

Honoka noticed this and proceeded to lay fully beside Bridget, steady caressing his chest with her fingers, her way of trying to calm him down. Get his mind focused properly to not look so scared. She’d been informed of who he was and because she’d decided to be the one to assist him during his Rut, she was not going to do anything unfavorable that would make the Amestia House look bad. Especially considering who Bridget was. That was the main reason why she insisted on being allowed to care for him during his time of need. She’d never gotten an important clientele before and having this opportunity, she was going to do her best to give him everything he needed, wanted, and more. So that he’ll request her all the time. But little did she know, she was in for a rude awakening. “Try to relax, okay? I’m only doing this for now and just waiting for you to tell me when to proceed further,” she assured him, her smile ever-present with her gaze cast down upon him.

The limiter bracelets had already compiled so much output of Bridget's power already to a point they couldn't hold any of it. The very thing that Bridget feared would happen. Whether he wanted it to or not. As Honoka glided her hand down the blonde's chest slowly, doing so created an electrical spark of friction with her being in close contact with Bridget. She only wanted to show him a good time, make him feel good and not so scared, thinking that things were going well. She didn't feel that spark of friction at first but the more she kept caressing Bridget's chest, the stronger that friction became until her hand had been completely shocked by black electricity out of the blue, causing her to cry out in pain as she sat up quickly and held onto her hand which now was shown with her skin damaged by the effect of Bridget's powers. Bridget had sat up as well, not even realizing that his powers had acted on their own since he wasn't looking at her. He could only feel her touching him. But he saw her clutching her hand in extreme pain, tears falling down the sides of her face as Honoka cried softly while trying to figure out what'd just happened.

But Bridget didn't even have to ask what'd happened or if Honoka was okay. He could tell by looking at her hand that she wasn't. That was going to leave a permanent scar and he felt so horrible about that. He had to get out of here. Despite his tiredness and sweating all over, he stood up immediately, while bowing apologetically to the woman, his expression more distressed because of the situation. He was surprised no one heard her scream and wondered if the rooms were soundproof. That was a possibility. "I'm ... I'm so sorry this happened! It wasn't on purpose, I promise it's just ... my powers ... they always do this and I didn't ... want to risk hurting anyone and yet ... I have, I'm so very sorry!" he stood up straight, his tears running down his face but his eyes never left Honoka's hand and the marking she'd now have on her skin. "Please don't hate me... I'm so ... very sorry!" he apologized one last time before bolting toward the door to leave. If his powers could do that much damage to someone's hand, he didn't want to be here to see anyone else getting hurt because of them.

Quickly once out of the room, Bridget ran as fast as he could to get out of the building. He'd come back later to give a proper apology to Honoka and pay for her injuries but he couldn't stay there and attempt to help her while knowing he would only just hurt her again. He'd ran so fast out of the Amestia House that he'd given no one a chance to ask him if anything was alright. He just left and kept running as fast as he could into the darkness. Having no idea of where he wanted to go except to get as far away from there and stay away from people as possible. His distress and anxiety, both were making his powers react and the moment he finally decided to stop running and placed his hand against a lamppost to stop and catch his breath, the light exploded immediately and the glass began to fall which Bridget reacted quickly to get out of the way as to not get harmed if only falling back on the ground in the process. The glass fell on the ground in pieces and scattered in one spot and all Bridget could do was sit there on the ground horrified and feeling helpless. He couldn't even touch anything that was sensitive to being overloaded with electricity. How the hell ... was he going to get home or even call for help ...?

Kuri hadn't too long ago just gotten in from her shift at work. Very much enjoyed the job she had working at a small nit arcade. Not an ideal job but it was fun and she got discounts to play the games as many times as she wanted. On top of drinks and food being half-priced for employees. Always a bonus. She's been able to hold the job for over a year and would occasionally refer her classmates to hang out there if they wanted. They had a lot of retro and current games to play and it was always a blast. Maybe the occasional customer would complain about their child not winning anything but games were made to be a challenge for a reason. Nothing in life is free. Of course, as an employee, Kuri couldn't say that and had to word what she say appropriately as to not offend the customers and upset them more than they already were.

Kuri wished she could be honest with them but there was a time and place for it. She would just calmly explain that no discounts can be given if customers lose the games. Only if the games were broken and just ate the money but didn't start the game, that's usually the only time those were issued out and even then it was rare. But when it happened, Kuri always made sure a sign was put on the games that were out of order for customers to know not to attempt to play them. Overall, a fun job that had its moments. And she was able to balance with her current school schedule since she only worked a four-hour late shift that started in the afternoon and she left at eight in the evening. She still had time to do any homework she had and eat dinner. Her sister usually worked later than she did and had no issues with her having a job so long as she could handle it. And Kuri could. It's not as if she had anything else to do outside of strumming some tunes on her bass guitar, listening to music, or playing video games.

And when she had all the free time to spare, she'd shoot her friend Bridget a message to see if he was free and if not, check on him to see how he was doing. An interesting guy he was. Kuri still knew nothing about his line of work which he still seemed reluctant to tell her about. She'd only ever asked a few times but he never wanted to say. So she didn't push out of respect. He'll tell her eventually when he was ready to. They've become good friends for the past two years and she's been providing him emotional support regarding his powers. The brunette really wanted to ask her sister about what she should do but instead, she just inquired about a few ideas from her sister's friend Rebecca. The two of them also became close friends as well and she should be if not close to almost being finished soon with university and graduating sometime soon. Kuri's sister was supposed to finish a year and a half ago but Anzu had decided to take a year off to focus on herself.

As long as she was sticking with her counseling, that's all that mattered to Kuri. She was progressing but then regressing at the same time. In a way, Bridget reminded her of her sister. They were similar in dealing with the emotional trauma that's holding them back. Kuri wanted to do more for both of them but she was the only person who could do so much. With a sigh, she went into her bedroom, closing the door behind her as she began checking her phone and dropping her back to the side next to her tv stand. Just some text from various friends from school and her sister informing her she would be coming in late tonight and that was it. Kuri hadn't texted Bridget in a couple of days and wondered what he was up to and if work was going okay for him. With that thought having crossed her mind, she decided to shoot the male a quick text before sitting her phone on her nightstand by her bed and started removing her gloves and jacket. Despite it being March and coming close to April, they were still having random cold fronts on rare occasions. But at least this would be the last of it according to the weather. Kuri couldn't wait for some warmer weather.

She then made herself comfortable on her bed, plopping down on it on her stomach while reaching for the remote and turning the tv on to check and see if there was anything interesting to watch in the meantime.

Shouta Akimoto:
Bridget stayed seated on the ground, too tired to move. He'd expended most of his energy in running as far as he could away from the Amestia House and he didn't have it in him to return. Not right now. That sudden rush of adrenaline he had to get away, he was now pouring in sweat from it. His Rut kicked in more and more despite him trying his best to keep his mind together. But his thoughts were everywhere. After damaging the lamppost, he knew he couldn't use his phone to call for help or even a cab to get him home and away from the area to avoid drawing attention to anyone. The last thing he wanted. The odds were not in his favor tonight. A woman appeared out of nowhere and approached him. He hadn't heard anyone in the area so he was wondering where she'd come from. Well, he only "killed" one lamppost, the others were still working perfectly fine as long as he didn't touch them. He kept his hands firmly on the ground beside him, though they were trembling.

It was then he'd heard his phone going off. The notification sound was set to play a bell-like tune whenever he had any incoming messages. The problem was that he knew if he tried to touch his phone, his powers would overload the battery in it and cause it to go out. Someone would try to contact him and an inconvenient time but nevertheless, it did remind him that he had his phone on him and didn't leave it back at the Amestia House. He didn't have the courage to go back there. He couldn't go back there. Not right now. But whoever was texting him, he had to figure out a way to respond without his powers overloading the battery. The thought came to him at the last minute but he'd removed his jacket off slowly or rather, he was struggling to remove it. Once off, he turned it upside down and began to carefully shake everything out of the pockets and the items in question began to spill out on the ground. His wallet, phone, and stylus pen are all in a small pile together. His hands continued to tremble but he quickly grabbed the stylus pen and gently tapped the screen of his few a few times with it to get it to light up.

Without getting his hand too close to it, he used it to unlock his phone to get to his messages. With one hand, he dried his face with the sleeve of his shirt while using the other to work through answering the message he got, all while panting tiredly. He knew it was dangerous for anyone to be around him in this situation but he didn't have any other options. He'd hoped it was his grandfather contacting him as the man often does but to Bridget's surprise it wasn't. It was actually Kuri whom he hadn't messaged or called in a couple of days. He felt bad for not doing that but it was too personal to tell her that he was dealing with his Rut and wouldn't be able to speak with her for a while. From the looks of it, she was checking in on him which in his current situation, he definitely appreciated that. However, he couldn't focus too much on it as his face became more flushed and despite feeling warm and hot all over, the cold breeze that blew, he felt it and immediately closed his shirt as he tried his best to respond to the young woman's text. He couldn't lie to her and he didn't want to sit here all night being afraid to touch anything. He had to ask for help and so, that's what Bridget had done. He'd sent a response to Kuri's first message informing her that he wasn't feeling well. It was an emergency and could she help him.

Once he'd sent it. He'd placed the stylus down on the ground beside him while trying to keep himself from breaking down again. He was thankful that the area in which he was in, was pretty vacant and there wasn't anyone passing by or had apparently heard the lamppost break. For now, he was in the clear. All he had to do was wait a little bit longer. For how much longer, he didn't know...

Haley Russell:
Kuri had been flipping through channels until she’d finally settled on a channel that was just playing a random movie that she didn’t recognize. It gave leeway for her to do something else while it played in the background, which she’d slid off her bed and walked toward her closet to pull out her bass guitar. She’d gotten a lot better at playing it, constructing better sounds and progressions with it to create the type of music she enjoyed. Her music classes in school helped with that, and she maintained keeping up with her practicing until she got better at it. With her instrument in hand, the brunette-haired young woman plopped herself back down on her bed, her legs crossed Indian style as she positioned her guitar properly and began to play or rather lightly strum a song from one of her favorite rock bands, Metallica. Normally, she’d do this with an amp, but given how late it already was, it would be rude to plug that up and disturb the other residents that stayed at the inn.

She hadn’t wanted to do that, so instead, she settled for not using the amp. At first, she wasn’t very good at playing without it and the sounds that came from her bass guitar made it sound as if something was dying, and Kuri definitely wanted to fix that. She wasn’t perfect by any means, but a lot better than she was for the sounds were cohesive enough to be recognizable. And considering the song she was playing from a particular group, no one her age would know it unless they were doing a deep dive into older music and the appreciation for it. She did grow up in an era in which music was still relatively good, for the most part. That is until it all went straight to hell as of the current year. It went from having a lot of great songs from the West coming out to maybe one or two decent ones throughout the entire year being good. Kuri was looking to explore other types of music besides just music from the West but that meant upping the difficulty level and she wasn’t there yet or ready for it. That’s what university was for. She needed to prepare herself sooner but she wanted to enjoy what time she had left as a senior in high school before eventually graduating.

It’d at least give her more time to make an informed decision on what she wanted to study, for how long, and more importantly, would it be worth it. She knew her sister would be supportive no matter what but part of her felt bad what if she was able to achieve the things she wanted while her sister couldn’t? ’I shouldn’t think that but I worry that nee-san will get more overprotective than she already is if I move just a little further than her. That … worries me so much,’ Kuri thought with a sigh while lightly strumming on her guitar. Her focus had been broken after a couple of minutes when she heard her phone go off. Setting the instrument to the side of her bed, reaching over to grab it, and checking her messages. Kuri honestly assumed that it was her sister telling her that she was going to come home a little earlier than normal which would be nice. She could use the break from working late. She didn’t have to but sometimes, she believed her sister wanted to without admitting it.

To her surprise though, it wasn’t her sister sending her a message but it was a message from Bridget. She couldn’t help but blink in surprise at this and immediately opened the text to see what it said. What she’d sent him earlier was short and simple. Checking in to see if he was okay and wishing him well with his work. However, his response to her message wasn’t what she was expecting. Her expression went from being hopeful and happy to one of dread, with her hand placed over her mouth. ’Oh no, Bridget...’ The man clearly wasn’t having a very good night if he’d managed to text her. The text had a few spelling errors in it which indicated that he struggled to send it. Immediately, she dialed Bridget’s number, hoping that he was able to answer it. If he was stranded wherever he was, it was dangerous for him to be out in his condition. She had to go and help him but first, she needed to know where he was in order to get to him. “Come Bridget, pick up,” Kuri mumbled worriedly. ’He’s stuck somewhere and dealing with his Rut at the same time. I have to find him and get him someplace safe…’

Shouta Akimoto:
Bridget had struggled but managed to grab the items that were in his jacket pocket with his jacket and stagger his way toward the nearest wall. He slid back down into a sitting position, panting tiredly as another wave of heat was washing over his entire body. His hands were shaky and sweaty, more sweat had perspired around his neck as sat on the ground with his back against the wall. Trying to avoid touching anything electrical with his hands. He didn't want to blow up any more lampposts accidentally or kill his phone since he was waiting for Kuri to respond. He'd hoped she would. If not, he could call his secretary to come and get him. Besides, what was going on with him wasn't Kuri's problem. But since she had texted to check up on him, he personally felt it made sense to respond to tell her what was going on.

It was then he'd heard his phone go off. He'd thought it was a text at first but tiredly looking down at his phone in his jacket, he'd seen it was a phone call instead. Kuri was calling him. He didn't know if he was functional enough to take the call but it was better than nothing. He grabbed the stylus pen that'd rolled into the sleeve of his jacket and shakily pressed answer to accept the call. "K-Kuri..." he replied in a tired tone, sniffling as he tried to keep himself calm enough to speak to her. "I'm ... so very sorry to bother you," he immediately apologized to her. "Can you help me? Please? I feel ... if I tried to move, I won't make it on my own," he admitted to her, pleaded desperately.
